With everything currently going on in the world I need every penny I can save, back in April I bought a one month subscription for my wife's birthday since she liked the stuff in the May box (which has yet to be received due to current events). I tried my best to be sure I wasn't signing up for an auto-renewing subscription and thought I was safe. Mind they don't make this easy, it's a game of 'don't press the buttons and find the link' which is awful.
I somehow missed the email and charge for the June box. Probably because I didn't think I would be getting them, so I was extremely surprised when my wife brought up the fact that I had two more charges on my account for boxes. To put it frankly, I was pissed. I have tried to get a refund to which the company has responded with once a charge goes through it can't be refunded and that I did indeed sign up for a renewing subscription.
Some shady website design got me into this mess. For starters, I originally looked at the gift options for boxes. However at the time, buying a gift box never said I would be getting the May box, the only box my wife wanted. So, not wanting to risk messing up, I did start a monthly subscription and I guess misunderstood somethings due to the language the site used.
On top of that, I didn't verify my email until I realized the charges happened. Let that sink in. This company had no way of knowing that I would even receive their emails and I had no access to their site either. So from their perspective, the only way I was guaranteed to find out about the additional boxes was via a charge on my account. A charge that once put through, I have no way of refunding. You understand the problem here? They took my money with no way of knowing that I knew that those boxes were coming (and I didn't know). I am pretty sure that is theft.
