I tried a promotional subscription from Seeking Alpha and I was unknowingly renewed at their ridiculous rate of 236.00 $. It took me three phone calls and a week and a half to talk to a manager, only to be denied any kind of a refund. These people are all about the money, beware.

There's no reason to pay for any premium services from either Seeking Alpha or any of it's...
Had an inital rate for $50. They renewed one year on Dec 12 for $250.00. After contacting them...

We would like to apprise you that - You were billed according to the authorization provided by you when you signed up for the service.
We furnish the autorenewal clause on the checkout while signing up for the service that clearly says that – the subscription will auto-renew at the then current annual list price until the service is canceled.
You could have avoided this charge, had it been canceled a day before the renewal due date.
We maintained complete transparency with the user, and the question of any confusion should not arise.
