I've been a member of Envato since 2013. Things were good until last year when I noticed that the 1-star reviews I left on plugins were removed when I went back to look at my purchases.

Strange, I thought. I never got an email or message saying they were removed.

So I left another 1-star review on both the products that I had issues with. A couple weeks later I looked and those 1-star reviews were gone AGAIN.

The fact that Envato is removing bad reviews and keeping good ones is bad business practice. Makes me wonder if I the reason I had such TERRIBLE experiences with those sellers & their items is because Envato deleted all the negative reviews for them.

Take the reviews with a grain of salt and be ready to lose your money in the case that something doesn't work. And if you leave a negative review, check it to make sure it's still there. Odds are it's probably been deleted.

EDIT: 2 hours after I left this review, I was contacted by Envato for the first time ever about my review. They said the review had been removed because it lacked sufficient information & linked me to a page with review guidelines.

My previous last 3 reviews all met those guidelines.

So I left one last review, copying exact text from other bad reviews left on other products that were not removed to test my theory.

Guess who's review was removed again, for the 4th time? That's right. And I did NOT get an email this time when it was removed as per usual.

This is very unethical and I will never purchase from Envato again. Good job losing a loyal customer. I hope many more will follow.

Won an auction, paid right away and got email instructions to call and arrange with vendor for local pickup. Called, left messages and couldn't get anyone to get back to me for 2 weeks.

Emailed PublicSurplus Support about not being able to get in touch with anyone about my items. I was asked for proof & dates as to when I called the phone number, as if I was lying about trying to contact them to get the items I PAID FOR. I don't have the dates that I called the place over the last 2 weeks. So, frustrated, I asked for a refund.

I was told: "if you want to request a refund, you must reach directly with the agency since this is between you and them and not us."

How am I supposed to get a refund from the "agency" I purchased from, if the entire reason I reached out to PublicSurplus support is because I can't get through to them to get my items?

This is horrible customer service. They weren't even willing to try to contact the vendor in my behalf unless I provided proof that I messaged them already. Don't use this site, it's not worth it just based on the customer service alone. I'll be disputing the charges to get my refund.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use it, it's scammy. It's not a government website & once you buy they won't assist you with refunds or customer service or anything. They take your money, take their cut and pass it on to the vendor and wipe their hands clean of everything after.
