My husband recently booked a hotel in the nearest big city to us, because he had a Medical Procedure coming up. He called the Hotel directly, and assumed he was speaking to someone at their front desk. He received a confirmation email from the front desk of that Hotel. His procedure was cancelled, so he emailed directly back to the hotel to cancel. Today the Hotel called to see what time we were arriving, and when he said he had cancelled, they told him they had no record of this and he had to go through Expedia to cancel. By now we were on the day we were supposed to arrive at the Hotel We knew nothing about having to go through Expedia. Turns out it wasn't even Expedia but Reservations.com a company we had never heard of. He was not given any of this information at the time of booking, not given an itinerary number nor any directions on cancellation. So of course he assumed that he would just cancel through the hotel. After several hours of trying to sort this out we eventually discovered that we had to go through Reservations.com and I ended up speaking to the rudest customer service agent I have ever encountered. We are not impressed with Reservations.com at all. I would give them ZERO stars, but the computer won't accept this.
