I bought doom eternal on steam so you already have the picky "always online" drm of steam despite internet being less than 100% stable for a large fraction of the world
Then I need a second account and get complained at when I don't have it for social stats? On a single player campaign? Just no
Delete it now
I deem it should be illegal to have to create a manual firewall rule to reduce data usage for an unwanted feature with no "disable" button as a large fraction of the first world has LTE based wifi or uses a slow ADSL line that should not be legally clogged with meaningless social data for a normally offline feature
Maybe if you added some form of multiplayer you could re-enable data connections just for that but until you remove social data as a feature I am unable to disable in settings it will remain a firewalled app
If you push an update that stops the game working without wifi I will crack it
I have the right to have no data flow if I paid my dues and you have no right to stop that demand
Holy $#*! now a recent update has made a firewall rule lock down the game
This is literally criminal how much they want to push using up your limited data connection and should be legally destroyed
I am now at the point where the only rational choice is to download a pirate crack to destroy this useless aspect of the game that eats at data and breaks the game if you can't connect to the internet like when my internet was down for several hours twice in the past 6 months first time due to somebody literally taking a sawzall to telecommunications cables
I have to crack a legal copy of a game because drm has literally become a crime to leave intact as I have the right to play the game anytime even without internet

Tip for consumers:
don't
there is no reason outside of approved community content mods to even sign up
doom eternal forces it unless you learn to add a block rule in your firewall and that should be illegal
now I advocate literally cracking the game as the firewall rule now shuts the entire game down including the 100% offline campaign

Products used:
forced to sign up to launch my 100% offline game
just no
never should have happened
skyrim had no bethesda.net years ago, now that add it, at least it is still 100% optional on that game like it always should have been

I don't know why the idiots at Bethesda can't seem to give ANY merchant enough funds to operate...

I hate bethesda for all these pesky microtransactions, memberships, and DLC that they keep adding...
