After reading the prevailing negative reviews and user experiences, I must admit that I was in a big dilemma, whether to book a hotel through Rehlat or not. I decided to make a reservation anyway, and everything went well. After some time I found a better price for a higher room category, so I canceled the reservation due to what I believe to be "technical shortcomings of the site".
Because there is no option to change the reservation (only by phone call, which is impractical for me). As the reservation was with the possibility of free cancellation, I requested a refund.
It is stated that the refund will be reduced by 3.2%, with large aggregators it is usually a full refund of the amount in such a case, and he thinks that Rehlat should do it this way, because it earns our loyalty.
In my case, the refund was reduced by 5.13%, I don't understand why, I'm waiting for an answer. "Waiting" for a refund, that's a bad experience, it took a little over two weeks to get the money into my account. For a serious provider/aggregator, unacceptably too long, and leaves a bad impression.
In order for the refund to happen at all, it took a lot of patience and a lot of emails.
Every email I received was answered, and quite quickly, for that I would like to thank ANJI very much.
So, Rehlat as an aggregator,
- has decent hotel prices
- charges 3.2% (my experience is 5.13%) for "free" cancellation of reservation
- refund takes an unnecessarily long time (my experience)
- the team in the contact department responds to emails quite quickly (commendable, in my experience)
- the website should be upgraded and improved in terms of software
