I purchased a pair of jeans in Oct 2017 at the Chicago, IL location- I live in Ann Arbor, MI. When I got home from my trip I wore the jeans for the first time and noticed that the inseam on my left leg would always move to the front of my ankle, I wore them a few more times and everyone kept noticing what the inseam was doing. When I held the jeans up you can clearly see the inseam was sewed all wrong and this was definitely a defective pair of jeans. I didnt know what to do because I didnt have the receipt anymore and the closest location I thought was Columbus, OH or Chicago, IL which both were 3+ hours away. I recently heard that Somerset mall in Troy, MI opened up a Zara so I chatted with someone online at Zara and told them the situation and they said its ok that I dont have the receipt, just take the jeans in and as long as they can verify the item is defective then theyll swap them out. So, I plan a day to go to Somerset (which is an hour away from where I live) to get my jeans exchanged and this literally was the worst experience Ive ever had at a retail location. First off, the line was absolutely insane- only two people working the register- but once I get up to the cashier, I tell her my situation and she calls over a manager, she instantly asks me for my receipt, which I dont have and she also says she cant do anything for me because I cut of the black tag on the inside of the jeans (I do that to all my jeans because it itches me) and I dont have the receipt. Also, they didnt have my size so they wouldnt have done anything for me anyway. This manager was SO rude and dismissive, Im not asking for ANY money back, Im simply asking for a non-defective pair of jeans and I understand I dont have a receipt and I ripped the tag off but the issue with this item is manufacture defect, not my doing. So, I write ZaraCare online via FaceBook and this was a whole other mess, they acted like they were going to help me, asked for my credit card number, the date of purchase, like they were going to look up the receipt, I also sent them pictures of my jeans and you can CLEARLY see the problem. They just wrote me back stating after extensive review they have confirmed that the defect reported is not of manufacturing. I wrote back asking how they can determine this item is even defective if they dont see it in person? And again, you can see the defect in the picture. Im never shopping at Zara again and I will write this review on every website, social media, etc. I paid $50 for those jeans (they are on sale for $15.99 right now) and I actually love the way they fit and considered buying another pair! But not after this! Zara does not take care of their customers and they definitely dont take ownership of when their products are defective!
