We would like to inform you that when a customer contacts us straight after confirming a booking about which they made a mistake, we try our very best to contact the hotel directly to ask them to wave the fees (in case they apply) and therefore cancel it without charges. In the case there is a cancellation penalty to be applied we contact the hotel immediately to doublecheck whether they accept a free of charge cancellation given the circumstances or not.
Please note it is actually possible to cancel reservations online (through the "Manage your bookings" section) and might not have been aware of it.
Regarding your booking you contacted the hotel directly and then tried to call us several times after 9 pm and once before 9 am (local time). Our offices being located in Spain, we are at that time closed.
Our US line is open from 3 am to 5 pm (Monday to Friday) - we are always happy to assist our dear customers with their queries during that time schedule.
You booked the room on August 10th (by night) and sent e-mails on the same day. We could only deal with your different e-mails on August 11th and therefore called you in order to solve the issue within the shortest time.
We finally managed to cancel your booking free of charge and refunded the deposit on the credit card provided for the booking.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused and hope you will have a pleasant stay in Costa Rica.
