“Avoid this business - Not intuitive system, and company refused to honor contract dates”

Imari A.
1/8/24

The data is questionable at best, (I looked up myself and noticed the information was from 2 jobs ago). This is primarily because zoom uses "Email signatures" as a primary means of verification, while the reality is many companies do not immediately delete an email when a person leaves, nor does the system have a method of filtering through people with multiple active emails, so you end up with bad and outdated data. More importantly, their customer service is subpar. I contacted them several days before my contract was set to expire with them because the system locked me out, and got nothing but buck passing and ignored when trying to get them to honor my access so I could extract the last lists we compiled. Do not do business with these people unless you enjoy wasting time, getting the run around, and dealing with unscrupulous individuals.

Don't use it and wouldn't... product data is terrible. 75% of contacts for small company I own are for people that haven't been employed with us for 3 to 10 years! Some were short-term, one never worked for us, some deceased, some working elsewhere. Thus, Zoominfo shows size of company as much larger than actual. Yet all contacts are shown as "updated" within the last 2 months!

I do not know where these predators are getting my information from, but they are exposing my safety by exposing my name, company information where I work, etc. Not only have I been a victim of identity theft, but I deliberately stay off social media due to a stalker. Yet this business, after multiple requests to remove my profile on their website, continue to expose me so that any day my stalker to walk into my place of employment and hurt me or my coworkers. I have filed two complaints with the BBB so far, yet NOTHING happens. Their privacy page, specifically their paragragh titled Suppression of Opted-Out Individuals states, "After the 30 days, the record is no longer accessible via the opt-out list and remains suppressed in perpetuity."

I am my wit's end and feel my next step is seeking an attorney.

I called because I want to cancel my subscription since it is not a fit for my business. I called their customer service hotline twice. I was advised that the account manager will reach out, however, we did not receive any call so we can process the cancellation

They will make you believe one thing until you sign up, and then, they say "sorry for your misinterpretation of what we said, but that's not what he actually said. No. We can't let you out of the agreement." I'm not going to use your product! We would not have signed up with you had we known of your shortcomings!

Buyer beware with this company. From 2000 - 2022 It was a pleasure dealing with this company. In 2023 they added (and did not tell me) a yearly automatic renewal clause into the contract after I had verbal confirmation in a web meeting that "everything will stay exactly the same as your last years contract". They also make a point of changing account reps frequently. I've had at least 6 different account reps in the 3 years I have been with them.

This website has my name/position and company contact info listed under a completely different company, and I get multiple sales calls every day that have absolutely nothing to do with my duties or even the products that my company actually sells. I didn't create a profile under another company name with my own info, so where did THAT come from!?! There is no way to get in touch with them and have this info removed. Absolute scam of a site.

Tip for consumers:
DO NOT use this site.

This site was brought to my attention when it listed someone we had never heard of as the "Restaurant Director" of one of our outlets - a position that does not even exist. Alongside this there were several instances of staff members listed who have not been with the company for several years. Despite repeated attempts there has been little to no contact from ZoomInfo, and zero effort to rectify the mistakes. As such, this website is a joke as a resource of information - you would have better luck with a 5-year old Yellow Pages.

They have the worst platform, no contacts in the EU at all! Bad customer service and they are hustling their clients. When you download a list of contacts, they plant in your list a few fake emails. So when you are done with their license they can see if you are using the data you took from them (which you pay for of course) and then they will come at you with lawyers so you will pay them for another year.
Please STAY AWAY FROM ZOOMINFO

Our company signed up. Poor reporting capabilities. They show graphs, but if you need reporting to pull for other functions, you have to manually grab the info.

Poor Customer service. When you try to reach out for support it might take weeks if not months before they get back to you. You have to become the squeaky wheel to get any attention.

The site makes it difficult to get your users to sign up for it. Had issues where users signed in and it creates a user without it being tied to our company which then requires tech support, and initially all they do is send you a preformatted message and never get back to you until you complain so many times.

Licenses are expensive. I don't understand how large companies, let alone small companies, can afford this product.

Tip for consumers:
Don't bother, find another product.

It's amazing how little you get out of your contract with Zoominfo. Poor upkeep of contacts, a+ rated will still have invalid information. This company has one goal and one goal only, take money from hardowrking companies, to sell and data mine people's information. Zoominfo should be embarrassed at their lack of care and invalid information that's rated at an A+ rating. Pathetic.

I made the mistake of signing up for a free trial.
Don't do it!
They hound you on the phone constantly.
Call after call (from different numbers).
I eventually downloaded a RoboKiller app and now let that answer them...

Tip for consumers:
Do not sign up for the free trial - you will never get rid of them!

Most of the information on their site if made up or just inaccurate. They waste time for legit business people who are trying to make a living finding the right people to contact and help solve challenges. As a salesperson I know its frustrating to hear from 40 people a day but its worse when ZoomInfo has you calling the wrong people forcing them to take 40 calls a day. They are terrible for sales and I am thinking only trash companies use them.

However we have never encountered such unprofessional and below the belt behavior from their SMB outbound sales strategy. Unrelenting telemarketing by SDRs that simply won't take no for an answer--like this is some kind of boiler room. We didn't even reach out to them they started cold calling and still get calls. What kind of publicly traded and supposedly reputable SaaS company approaches their sales process this way like some kind of schlockmeisters?

Signed a $15,000 contract with ZoomInfo for one year. Their product did not generate any new customers; we were not interested in renewing. After the end of the contract year, they spent months demanding $95,000 under threat of suing for theft of trade secrets, until they finally gave up and went away (after we incurred legal fees responding to their repeated demands).

If I could give 0 stars I would. Unethical and incompetent team who do not honour requests to remove data. They publish inaccurate data and personal information such as personal phone numbers and email addresses and ignore requests for removal. The staff I have spoken to have promised me on two seperate occasions they would remove my information. They havent and its been 2 weeks. They continuously have tried to sign me up to their service. Take your business elsewhere. The information they publish on their websites is dated, incorrect, unethical or puts people at risk.

Try to find out pricing on their site? Nope. Try to reach someone to just give you a price? Nope. They got alot of people in their database, but lots are missing key contact info. The only way to get info is to book a call with 'an account executive' (lol). When i acquiesced, and said 9:30 works "um, just to be transparent, we like to book ever hour on the hour. WTF? Give me a break.

$60K for lists they will make you delete once your term is over. Very crafty tricks in the contract.

Tip for consumers:
There is an element of misdirection in the 3yr agreement. The actual document that you sign doesn't contain any language pertaining to the licensee being required to destroy all contact lists purchased through the fee agreement, instead there is link in the document, which takes you to a completely different site and legal document, where it lays out the requirements for the licensee to destroy all lists after the term of service. You will not own the lists for which you just paid $60K. RIP-OFF!

Our company listing on Zoominfo displays incorrect data. None of the "employees" listed are employed by us and de get numerous phone calls and emails daily asking for these unknown employees which wastes our time as well as paying Zoominfo customers. We have requested removal and have contacted Zoominfo privacy numerous times, but the issue has not been resolved. I suppose our next option is to comment our displeasure with this erroneous listing (that we did not sanction or request) by complaining on social media sites and the Better Business Bureau.

I have tried and failed to get my information removed from this site! They do not permit you to talk to their so called "privacy" department. They do not follow through with their promises to remove your information even though it is erroneous.
Do not permit this company to host any of your information or business as they do not care if the listing they post is correct, accurate or legitimate!

I hired this company for lead generation... After using them for about 9 months, I called them and stated that I did not want to use their services anymore as I was unable to get ahold of not even 1 customer! I also sent them an email notification of my intent to not renew with them, however, they advised me that I was late 1 day of the 60 day notice period! I have asked for call logs and recordings to prove that I gave my notice on time but now they are refusing to send me this information... They are a bunch of scam artists!

We've found ZoomInfo moderately useful for casting a wider net of potential prospects, but are stunned that they're trying to railroad us into an auto-renewal — and at 37% more than the fee we paid initially. Seems borderline unethical, but definitely not a customer-friendly organization.

Tip for consumers:
Be very careful before signing their contract. They include a sneaky auto-renewal clause and are adamant about making you pay for an additional year — in our experience at a fee that's 37% higher than what we paid initially. They also close any opportunity to opt out of auto renewal months ahead of the subscription expiration date.

This is a bunch of low lives. They spidered our site and made up fake info about us. It's just a fraud masquerading as a legit business. We tried contacting them to no avail. Please DO NOT sign up and give your data to them. If it is correct data, you're helping their scheme. Or if you do sign up, consider writing false data. Feed them their own medicine.

Customer S. – ZoomInfo Rep

Hello Josie, I am very sorry to hear about your negative experience. Companies are able to claim their profiles and verify if it is up-to-date information. You can do so here: https://www.zoominfo.com/about-zoominfo/privacy-center to learn more about how you can claim your company's profile and update company information.

Unethical business practices like I have never seen before in an attempt to lock you in their contract forever.

First of all, their account executive sold us the "full version" of Zoominfo only for us to realize that it was missing all European data and forced us to pay an additional US$ 7,000 for it. The data for Europe is not even good; we got almost no return on the expensive investment we made on the platform, so our sales team decided not to renew. However, Zoominfo's contract is shady and sneaks in a tiny auto-renew clause in the contract; you won't hear from them again after you sign up until the moment your "opt-out window" for the contract expires.

We've tried to cancel our contract with a 45 days notice, but they claim it's not possible and we must renew another year because the notice is 60 days. Their reps harass you, calling five times a day to force the renew and threatening with legal action and debt collectors.

We are a company based in Europe, and the European Union considers this practice "unfair contract terms" and such lock-in clauses cannot be enforced as they do in the US, but still Zoominfo keeps sending constant legal threats, and harasses our sales reps and calls the office all the time with more threats.

Now we have a debt collector hired by Zoominfo threatening us with legal action in whatever US state (way outside of our company jurisdiction) and claim they will involve even claim that will involve the US Embassy in the matter.

If you're considering using this software, read up what The Bear Cave published about their auto renew shady business, do yourself a favor and look for more ethical competitors than this big sales scam named Zoominfo.
