Payed for 2 month pro version. So u can upload unlimited pictures. YOUPIC put my status pro but without the options! I did pay, I can show all. They just stop chatting after I payed. So my money did vanish. I keep send mails every day, not even a response.!
Constant messages about upgrading, discounts, last chances... can drive a beginner mad on this site. They clearly have only one goal in mind... make money. I was a regular member and once they started the "pro" accounts, photography comes in second place. I'm still a free member but not willing to upgrade because of this point of view.
Update juli 2022,
The amount of annoying pushing messages is pretty low right now. I admit I only use youpic not as often anymore but I think this improved a lot. (I only have a free account)
I prefer the site to most others, when. You post people see it, a lot of people, rather then a small following you build over time, which also happens, but it isn't a popularity contest, you just post and people look, mostly other photographers of all calibers and skill levels. Sites that appeal to the masses your viewers are regular Joes that don't know a good photograph from a bad one. There are features I wish it had, like the ability to update an image after the fact, rather then delete it and repost, and it would be nice if you could post sample / reference images in the comments...
Look, when I first joined the site, it was a pretty good site and the people (other users) there are quite so nice, however, their business model could use some work and that's real.
Look, I get that the site needs money but what I don't appreciate is being limited to ONE photo upload per 12 hours. They've been pushing that premium membership noise for as long as I've been on it but they've gone too far with that crap. It's a photography site, not a shop and, really, who buys photos? Adding onto that, that premium membership is expensive as holy hell.
I love my photos getting attention but I do photography for fun, not as a job. I wish the admins would take that idea into consideration.
Please stay away from this website since once you have subscribed a paid account its impossible to unsubscribe and they charge you the maximum price 119$ without warnings or advices. Premium accounts also don't give you what do they promise (for example video uploads are limited). You also are spammed with messages ask you to upgrade. You also have to disable the adult option otherwise you will see mainly nude models and girls in your feed.
I have closed an account on this site out of frustration. I would say that if you want to be average and get attention this is the place to do it. If you work the system you can get a lot of attention without quality work. People comment to gain points and get awards but it is not for their images. Content is not king here. I would post images that went popular on 500px or made the finals at view bug and I would have 11,000 views and very few likes. I don't want to join a popularity contest I want to gauge the relevance of my work.
Yes, it's a very good site to showcase your photography and get invaluable feedback from other members. However, they have a feature called "The Inspiration Feed." Photos that are deemed "Inspirational", are shown on an ever-expanding wall. Members are encouraged to award a photo star if they are so inspired to do so. In other words, it leaves you to believe that the members would report their inspiration to other members. No. They will post a photographer's photo only if it inspires them. So, "The Inspiration Wall" is made up of what the owners of YouPic like. They don't seem to be professional or fine art photographers. Spoiler Alert: Lots of photos of squirrels and pouty young girls.
This site is pure horror, for all photography fans... unless you pay for it.
If you don't pay, you are allowed to post 1 picture every 12 hours, or basicly 1 picture/day.
Paying members can post as many as they like... and very often the paying members have lowest quality pictures.
To highlight pictures, they have a scoring system by giving up to 50 likes per person on a picture... the paying members are allowed to have multiple fake accounts, so they can give themselves hundreds and hundreds of likes, so that the worst pictures are in the spotlight. This is just humiliating to all the "real" photographers with beautiful pictures.
This used to be a good photography site, with freedom to post your own work, but now it all changed towards business as usual... money, money money, and lots of photographers who have left this site to other, better sites.
And if you don't watch out... they just close your account without any warning at all!
At first I thought this was a good site. Soon I realized you could build you own for less money. They will charge you a fortune and bill you without notice and refuse refunds. Terrible customer service. Greedy. Avoid!
Youpic is your perfect platform to present and publish your photos. Register and start posting photos in high quality. You can also put your photos up for sale.
One of the best mediums available to communicate and share the works of lesser known artists. They share your photos and other artwork with over 40,000 people.
I love what they do...
This is a great resource to showcase your photos. There is also feedback from other photographers which is helpful. In addition there are online photography courses that are included with your subsription, and information about upcoming photography tours. I like this site. It works for me.
Myself and many of Youpic's leading contributors/posters abandoned the site after they completely changed it for no good reason but they certainly ruined the experience. Nobody really knows much of anything about who is behind it, what their purpose is, why they will not answer questions or tell anyone how the site works. A FAQ or about us is greatly needed. It was a lot of fun for me I posted a 1,000 images and got great feedback but they keep changing the rules and how the site works and ruined the experience. I worked my butt off for 2.5 years to achieve the awards and was a month away from the milestone 20,000 shares and they just up and eliminated them all. The guy or guy behind this site have no idea what they are doing they are banned from DPreveiw for spamming, they do not have a clue. Stay away.
I started using Youpic because I have been bugged out more at more with Instagram, it's algorithm and the missing of a real photo comunity.
I have just started uploading stuff on Youpic and have already gotten some good Feedback on different skills. They also give you the possibility to create a print store which I will definitely use!
Pay us to be "premium". That is what the sit is all about.
Lots of solicitation to become premium. If you are not premium your pics do not go far. Not a photo site. More of a retirement plan for the developers.
They will lure you into the platform by claiming they want to feature your work that they saw on instagram/other sites. You sign up, upload some pictures, and they will "boost" your first posts so that you get a ot of engagement from other users. (likes, reshares, comments, etc). But they never contact you about featuring your work again. All you will hear from them for now on is the constant spam in your email inbox and youpic private messages, and to stop it you need to upgrade to premium.
Overall the community sucks. It's full of terrible/mediocre photographers that comment-spam their way into getting notoriety on the platform, and little else is going on there.
I really love YouPIc because I can Interact with other photographers around the world. In YouPic you can share your photos in every category that you want, you can make an album for your photo collection. It is a good opportunity to share your response about photography in a professional way and also give feedback from other photographers. Join it to access a professional platform for photographers.
The site and it's curators are unresponsive to complaints. They are more than will to push you towards the next higher premium level. With little to no benefit! The leaderboard and other ranking system are geared more toward quality as apprised to quality. I have canceled my paid membership and do not plan to renew it. I will say most of the Photographers are great people, that is why I will stay with my free membership.
Youpic is a scam. They used one of my pictures for promotion on instagram without my consent. You are as a photographer are just content to them. They don't care about you or your photography. They just want your money and your content. After expressing my anger and dissatisfaction even after a week of signing up they refuse to refund your money. Stay away people!
I wouldn't recommend this site to anyone. I do not like the way they operate, or the slutty kisses and love hearts that get sent twice a week from Lisa for over two years as if that is going to make me pay for this pithy little site. YouPic are full of lies and deceits tho at first (while I paid) I thought it ok, now after being with them for a few years, I am done with them as I see what they are...

Answer: When you send a message to YouPic you will not get an answer. Most of the time it's an automatic generatic answer from the robot.
Answer: I wrote to them to ask the same question. Here was their response: "Its an activity fire we have." Not helpful at all!
Answer: Yes, I get many spam messages from Lisa in the website and to my email. They always ask you to upgrade even more and to ask you money.
Answer: Seems to be working fine for me.
