Wunderground was perfect-- great layout, easy to get the data you need fast... then they changed everything. No idea why. Instead of clean, easy to read bar graphs, with radar and basic conditions, the site is a mess of "pretty" pages with no easy way to customize, and the data jumbled all over the area and requiring pull-down tabs to get the data that used to be on the home page.
Nice job ruining a site, Wunderground.
Bad & getting worse. Bad layout, bad navigation, missing information, frequently broken security certificates, slow ads, busy ads. I used to pay for Wunderground annually. Sorry to see it die an undignified death.
Used WU for years... daily precip totals great feature, indication when precip might start good, all info in one easily to view location... now all gone with one update... who thinks this is product improvement... this is called turning a good product into garbage... already looking for a new app! Bye bye!
Wunderground.com used to be great. Clean and simple. Now it's a script heavy complicated mess that doesn't like to load or update properly. Just a Weather.com clone. If I wanted that I wouldn't have stopped using it 10 years ago and turned to Wunderground in the first place. Sadly, it's time to find a new weather site
The Weather Underground used to be the best weather site, now it is fell to the bottom. Why would you go to a site that locks your browser screen all the time when it loads. Are they that hard up for advertising money.
WU is constantly broken, nothing loads except the ads. Maps won't work, charts won't work graphs and forecasts stay blank. You're lucky if you enter your location and it doesn't display it as some random place on earth somewhere in Siberia or the Indian ocean.
The only information you can access is the same information you could get by looking at the thermometer on your porch at the moment.
It's like the site was redesigned by a middleschooler who quit doing it when only 10% done and left it like that.
It's an ad site with the current temperature. I can get that from any bank time and temp board without the ads and get the time besides.
I agree with the other posts in that I wonder what they were trying to accomplish with the December re-do of the Website and App? In a word, it is a disaster. No landscape view for iPads, hard to reed text and graphics, and generally clunky navigation. If the intent was to drive away subscribers, they accomplished that goal.
Wunderground has been my goto site for a long while now. I really appreciated the maps with the temp, rainfall, wind and radar options. Now, the site has become so convoluted that it is most times impossible to even pull up a map of my area let alone get meaningful information from it. Please, someone with some common sense in a position of authority has to make a decision to rollback whatever changes have been made to the site or I will never use it again.
I have been a member for 12 years and have loved this site. The new format is an abomination. Half the time the 10 day will not display. Did some research and found a recommendation to check my browser to make sure something wasn't blocking the load. WTF, I have made no changes to Firefox and the old format worked just fine. Sound like somebody want's to pass the blame. Some web designer tried to get cute and screwed up a good thing. Bring back the old format.
Seriously. Slow load times, stupid interface, trying to find information is beyond annoying. I click for next day forecast and get sunset times?
Trying to find updated info is insane. Anyone have a better site to recommend?
DONE with wunderground.
I used weather underground for years, but with all of the down grades they have added which they call upgrades, I cannot find the information which I need. When the search is successful, advertisements cover the information and I cannot get them out of the way. Totally worthless site.
The latest changes to the Weather Underground site is definitely not an improvement. The radar map is not readily available due to all of the other distractions on the home page. Less and simple is much better in this case.
Advertising became more important than the service. Too bad, it was such a great service. Won't even properly save your locations on Wundermap - the main reason I used the service in the first place. Unfortunately, the app has followed suit and has degraded in its quality.
Wow, they ruined the site! The latest redesign is simply horrible. I remember in the past you could go to a special webpage for the previous version, but they don't seem to even offer that now. Looks like I am back to http://forecast.weather.gov
Weather Underground used to be the best weather site in the US. After the redesign it may be the worst weather site in the world. Bring back the old design. It was fast, informative and easy to use. Now it's slow AF, very basic and uninformative. Might as well tune in to FOX on my bunny ears to get a better outlook.
And I can't get a response from WU. The homepage instructions for doing this don't work. I can't delete favorites or rearrange cities on top favorites bar. This should be simple but it seems WU has become too fancy and unresponsive with time. I'm switching to the (ugh)Westher Channel
When I wrote my first review the Wunderground site must have been having serious difficulties, inept programers, intentional poor site design, etc. However it seems to be working pretty good now! They must have really fixed it!
The 'new' Wunderground site design is terrible... all of the useful info and functionality is now gone, it is now useless! Also it is now so slow that it times out while trying to download! I have just had to go back to NOAA, which is not near as localized and up to date as Wunderground used to be! Sooo sad!
Update: as of Sept. 25,2017 Wunderground has now fixed their site to almost as good as it was before they 'messed' it up... it just takes more clicks now to see what one needs to know! I don't know why they had to tamper with it in the first place... it was great just as it was!
Try to log in and you get a spinning wheel for hours with the eventual message - "server error - please try again later"... when you get that - you can give up trying to get in until the next day...
Half of the cities you search for will not take you to a reporting station in that city - but it dumps you into the nearest airport which could be 100 miles away and 5000 feet difference in elevation...
If you do happen to be able to actually log in - it logs you out within minutes... then when you try to log back in - you get the spinning wheel with the eventual message - "server error - please try again later"... try to drag your favorites to re-order them (as it says you can do) - good luck... thius used to be THE BEST weather site - it didn't go downhill, it dropped off a cliff...
Wunderground seems to have rebounded from its low point after IBM acquired The Weather Company. 10-day Outlook works again, and its graphics appear slightly enhanced. Personal weather station (PWS) reports, including day-by-day history, are working. The link to the NOAA forecast discussion, nonfunctional for months, has now been eliminated altogether. That's a backhanded "fix", but at least we can easily get the discussion from weather.gov. The Wunderground iOS app is also fully functional, and it still links to the NOAA discussion. Am upping my rating from 2 to 4 stars, in part because Wunderground avoids the hyper-commerciality of its cousin Weather.com.
Wunderground.com used to be a great weather site. Since it was acquired by Weather.com which in turn was acquired by IBM, its usability has steadily declined. The link to NOAA discussion for your area no longer works, the 10-day outlook has quit displaying reliably. I've written to wunderground feedback and received no reply. This is death from a thousand cuts.
What was once a great, fast source for national & local weather with superior radar and satellite information has ceased to exist! If you want to been weened off of "AWS", Addicted to Weather Syndrome, this is your site!
I was an "ads free" subscriber for years and would have pay more to subscribe even with the ads just to have left the site as designed.
RIP weatherundergound. The star is in memory of once was.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
