I have just found out that the site is no longer in operation. What has happened to the poems posted on the site and if they could be transferred
Same my brother and I started out on that sight and never thought to save all of our poetry beyond saddened by its sudden disappearence...
I am in touch with writers network from years... infact my first poem i posted on writers network was in the year 2008. I have all my data collected on this site... i request writers network official to reopen it.
I loved this site and posted many poems on it. Without warning, the site was closed and all my poems were gone. Repeated attempts to contact Bianca the owner of this site delivered no response from her. She was not difficult to locate on facebook, as she has written online books. Many people are upset about this. The wayback machine does not pull up from this closed site. I put my heart into my poetry and am heartbroken.
I freakin' love this site. If you are a new or experienced writer, this is the place to develop and enhance your skills. A relatively select group of writers of all ages, but you get really useful reviews from their wealth of experience, none of the flowery sychophantic stuff you get on other sites who are just after you to follow them because they give you a nice review. It's an easy site to navigate with no ridiculous rules of having to review 3 poems before you can publish if you are a free member. My only "moan" is that I would go "pro" and pay if I knew who I was handing my money over to. I have no idea who the site owners are. But that's just me being wary of online transactions.
I have been on this site since 2005 and love it just as much as I did the first day I joined. Great community of writers, helpful writing tools and a really friend support team. Many writing sites have come and gone but this one has stood the test of time and remained true to its roots. Would highly recommend!
Answer: Writers network. Com had been going downhill since they had a "make over" in 2010 that did more harm than good. I joined in 2004 and had more than 600 poems and articles posted but didn't lose anything but a lot of friends and fans. Somebody was really doing it all wrong screwing up the whole site by the time it disappeared all of a sudden which fit the direction it was going. Sad, but not surprised, I will find another site to post on hoping to find some old friends. Bob Quinn from "The Blarney Roost"
