Most of the members posting on Websleuths dot com can be linked right back to Patricia Griffith's computer. Websleuths is an orchestra of fictitious members all being played by one lonely person with a mouse and keyboard. In the end it's just sad music.
Absolutely idiotic forum. Everything others have said is true. The most childish, petty, inconsistent moderators you can imagine. This site serves absolutely no use beyond that of the comment section on an article and a showcase of the profound media illiteracy of a particular demographic.
I was timed out and then asked for a ban after *politely* suggesting that a misleading thread based on debunked (and slanderous) misinformation should be adjusted. "Do not tell us how to do our job! We've been doing this since 1995!" Yep. Websleuths: Slandering people and spreading rumors since 1995.
This is one of the most useless boards on the internet. They shut people down that have a differing view, they are horrid toward the family or friends of the arrested and have pure white hatred for anyone arrested b/c they are guilty, in their minds, without even a trial. Just as bad as the old Topix Site long ago.
Come to this site and expect to be fully censored if your opinion differs from the fascist moderators and their militant cliques. They are the first ones to scream the smear "fascist" at anybody they don't like when in reality they exhibit all the signs of a fascist organization.
From the start I said the family of Debbie Collier should be left alone. I suggested self inflicted death by butane inhalation.but it didn t fit their narrative to proffer off of another person s suffering so SillyBilly a/k/a bullybilly banned me from the site and said that she was keeping the site s owner aprised of my "not swell" remarks. Avoid this site like the plague if you want to retain a modicum of your human decency...
Websleuths is the trailer trash version of the worst tabloid you can think of. Grab a bottle of jack, put your teeth in a glass, and settle in for the lowest IQ discussion you've ever had in your life. And if you deviate by more than +10 IQ points, you will be banned immediately. Not exaggerating. Lmao
Websleuths is not worth anyone's time. Controlled by sad, rude Admins and moderators who live to harass members. What people on here have stated about the person who goes by the name Sillybilly is true.
This is a ridiculous site operated by people who totally discourage any discussion that might shed light on a crime. Admins and mods spend their time deleting so many posts that conversation becomes meaningless and repetitive. This is not to say members should be allowed to dox suspects or attack people who have no obvious connection to the crime, but risk assessment means talking about what and who the victims have been exposed to. WS has the potential to be a thoughtful and enlightening group, but not in the hands of present owner and her jackbooted admins and mods. Plus she's having a feud with another presenter on YouTube, and everyone is expected to back-up her quarrel. The only good thing is that membership is free because participating isn't worth one red cent.
Why anyone still uses this site is beyond me.
I see Tricia is bull$#*!ting about not making enough funds again and the threatening her members that the server is going to go down unless she raises 2000$ LMAO.
The most bizarre thing is, there is actually people donating their hard earned cash to her via PayPal, venmo and cash app. WAKE UP PEOPLE! She has endless ads on her website, as long as everyone keeps visiting her site (which they seem to be doing, you can check stats online) then she makes her money through the ads. So why the F are you donating any money to her? She is using you. She is lying to you. She is a fat lying fraud who is out right now now spending your money on her self.
How dumb do you have to be to actually send this $#*! money?
I've been a member for 6 years, had a decent post karma, but every single thing I said they had a problem with. They apparently have a 'point' system? That they arbitrarily give you points on your account, and some stay forever and you have 3 strikes or some $#*!. CocoChannel was following me around, editing every comment, and I said 'people in Idaho are mostly conservative' Banned. Because apparently you can't say anything about politics? I hadn't posted in years and I guess I pissed off someone in 2017 and Silly Billy was asking why I said something in 2017...like why would I remember lol. Idiots. All complete idiots. Rules aren't clear and are arbitrarily enforced...also they get mad if you report racism. They are racist af.
Websleuths is a very wierd place to talk about crime and missing people. They will delete sourced information they do not agree with while leaving unsourced information they do agree with. Not really a site for actually talking about cases, just confirmation bias and mod bullying, might be a little racist to.
Avoid
I just signed up with this site and it says "you have insufficient privileges to comment". Ok. Well. Why? Can't even find the answer to this... and there is no search area either (for cases or help). Total crock!
Those handful old timers are outrageously intolerant of any new member disagreeing with their theories. If you have more brain cells than them, you are an enemy and will soon find yourself unwelcome, complained about, and eventually banned (it doesn't take long). They keep it their own littler paradise.
Logged on today for the last time. Intelligent members are being kicked out left and right, traffic is plummeting, opinions are stifled by the moderators, and the owner is only concerned with her YouTube channel. In my (close to) 6 years as a member, I have seen it all. Many members I've talked to agree that things have never been this bad. There is a climate of fear thanks to the Nazi like moderation of Silly Billy. I regret to admit that I have donated money in the past, but definitely never will again. Time for a new owner who actually cares about her members, and not lining her pockets with donations. This site could be great with a little effort and a lot of house cleaning. Good riddance.
This forum style site is supposed to be for people who have an interest in real life crimes. While the site does feature real crimes as the previous reviewer said, the majority of people on there jump on the bandwagon of 'guilty until proven innocent'. Not only that but it appears that none of the people who frequent this forum appear to have jobs, lives or families because they seem to spend hours dredging up things which they have no proof has any relation to the actual crime itself. Many times they write one sided arguments, forgetting what they write is published for the entire world to see online, without solid knowledge the people they are writing this negative stuff about had anything to do with the crime in question. If you try and reason or put forth a balanced analysis you are banned from the forum. I would recommend staying away at all costs!
As a new member, I was booted for not knowing the rules fast enough for SillyBilly. I've attached our conversation for your viewing pleasure. If he treats all new members this way, it's no wonder the site is riddled with ads and hasn't improved in years. (I joined the site in 2015 to leave a comment, I didn't actively use it until this week). I hope someone with some sense revokes his Admin privileges. He's keeping educated and well-meaning members out of the loop.
Don't even dream of voicing your own intelligent opinions. Here is a quote from a recent post by a member there, verbatim:
"Much like the usual few WS members on every thread, who post against the stream, and ignore evidence to arouse emotions and responses."
Self-explanatory? State an opinion that does not agree with the crowd, and you are guaranteed to be told you don't belong there.
90% of content is speculation and repeating misinformation. 5% is social interaction and telling off topic personal stories. Might as well look on Facebook. The only way to figure out what the 5% useful info is, go find it yourself anyway.
I asked websleuths to close down an account then opened a new one with a new email which I was using for a few Months. They suddenly banned me for having multiple accounts with no warnings or explanation. So if someone changes their email provider and sets up a new account they are basically banned from websleuths.
Beware the only motivation behind the owner and the site is to scam as much money as possible out of gullible groupies. I know for a personal fact that this broad is in debt up to her eyeballs. If it were not for the kindness of others she would be living in a cardboard box! A sucker is born every second!
Answer: Depends, if it's something they agree with you'll be golden, if you have any level of criticism then they are harsh.
Answer: At one time Websleuths actually did provide a space for good investigatory endeavours. If you look at archives from 2006 era of the site, there was some great research done. But in the last five or six years all the intellect has been banned and you are left with primarily very very old people, who do no research, barely know the facts of the cases they are discussing, and who babble and are annoyed by anyone who interrupts their babble with facts.
Answer: It's legitimate in that is is a chat-room blog, it is illegitimate in that what transpires on this blog is the farthest thing from "sleuthing" or crime solving that I can think of. Most people on the site are unfamiliar with detailed facts of the cases, or with forensics. There are regulars who roam from forum to forum in zombie-like fashion, espousing the exact same thoughts over and over again, regardless of the case or topic. There is also a lot of claim to expertise or relevant profession that is supposedly vetted by Websleuths, claims that seem doubtful. If someone says they are an attorney, that alone does not make them qualified to speak to just any legal issue. And any attorney not afraid of a law suit would make this full disclosure upfront. Yet none of the so-called attorneys on the site do this. And if someone presents themselves as an expert or practicing professional, why aren't others on the forum allowed to know what actual qualifications they have and who they are. It's one thing to remain anonymous when you are simply giving an opinion-but when you claim your opinion is based on experience or education, I do believe at that point you should be prepared to reveal yourself, so that people can know the quality of the information they are relying on. Websleuths is a real chatroom blog, but it is a sham as a place of fact and substantiation.
Answer: Find another forum. Websleuths is really not worth the time.
Answer: I don't know. I suspect they are just not very intelligent people and resent those who are.
Answer: Don't worry. I guarantee you'll get more insight on Reddit than web-nonsleuths. They have nothing to offer.
Answer: Because assholes need to try to feel clever so they join to self flatter. It's the same reason none do any decent research because the unspoken rule is to not make others look dumb. If you do they attack in groups and use corrupt moderators to shut you down.
Answer: Don't waste your time. Reddit has much cleverer commentary on cases. Websleuths is very low IQ and geriatric.
WebSleuths has a rating of 1.2 stars from 107 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with WebSleuths most frequently mention law enforcement, long time and new members. WebSleuths ranks 369th among Forum sites.
