Cameron impresses as someone who can talk to anyone, novice or expert, about audio and performance. He does have a wealth of knowledge, as to be expected from his training, but the personal touch he gives in explaining and encouraging talent gave me a far greater boost than can usually be expected in a forty-minute coaching session. I love Voices.com. This is my full time job, and I make a living at it! So may jobs avail every day. The auditions are easy. The Clients have always been wonderful. And the staff at Voices, from the project managers to the admin staff all the way up to the president (who yah returned my emails personally when I had a question) are just the best. They started out as a good platform for talent many years ago, but like so many stories of greed, this one takes a familiar path; exploit talent and squeeze them for every cent you can. They not only take annual dues from talent, but take a percentage of the talent fees as well?! Brazen theft IMO. They've also been accused of padding the fees without Informing the talent. This is the very last place any voice over artist should patronize.
Had a phone conversation with Cameron Pocock today, and he was a verifiable hero in terms of the guidance I needed. We spoke on the basics of using the Voices.com platform, best practices when auditioning, helpful tips to assist me where I'd asked for help, and genuinely collaborated on where I can move forward from there.
In terms of being a pay-to-play industry in the beginning, I'm glad I found Voices.com as a place to start from, and as I book work I know Cameron et al will have my back.

Voices.com is my go-to resource for voices, whenever I need a VO recorded well and fast. The team there (three cheers for Bonnie and Jess) are responsive, courteous, efficient and extremely helpful in finding the right voices and making sure records are done exactly as needed. I could not sing their praises enough and will always use them for all my VO needs in English (and Spanish!).
I've worked with voices.com for a couple of years. The customer service is phenomenal. When I haven't been paid by a client, voices.com's service rep contacts the client to aid in getting my payment. The service reps have also helped me with my profile to make me more marketable. The website is a little expensive for artists, but it can pay off if you book enough work.
Auditioning for a VO part is the same as with any other acting role where you show up for the audition and you see 50 other people in the room with you going for the same part. The only difference with VO work is we don't get to see the other people, but they're there. Voices keeps sending the auditions your way. Lots of them. All day long. It's up to you to submit a great proposal and a killer demo.

Cameron was really lovely to talk to and very helpful. Even while we were chatting and changing my bio more auditions popped up on the site. I understand how the site works and his advice is useful, and I know he's on hand if I need him! He also helped me technically with my editing and auditioning technique.

That's exactly how I would describe my interaction with Kelly on the other end of the Voice line a few days ago. I felt like I had so many questions, and even felt like I may have asked her the same question a couple times, some questions seemed remedial, but, through it all Kelly was calm, cool, and collected.
Kelly came across like I was her only "situation" for the whole day, and I could take as long as I needed. Never once did I feel rushed. Hopefully all of Voices "help" personnel are like Kelly, and if not, then they should be. Kelly definitely deserves the 5 stars I gave her and her service.

The math is bad for talent on this site. They charge voice seekers to hire you on top of the annual membership fee you pay them, plus brokerage fees they charge you each time to obtain work. They also handle all invoicing and act as a middle-man, so you don't enjoy the advantage of a ongoing, personal relationship with the client. Do your research on this one.
I have used Voices.com several times before, but with enough time to review auditions and then move into the record session. This project was much tighter on time and Voices.com came through for me quickly and professionally. I needed to cast character voices and tag lines. And complete this project within 24 hrs. Voices.com not only met my deadline of providing several auditions, but within 2 hrs. After my selection, I was having my record session with my voice actor. Voices.com really came through for me on this project. Everyone I work with at Voices.com have been courteous and professional. They are truly an asset to have on your team.
I have spoken to reps at Voices.com for myriad of reason and EVERY one has been extremely engaging, patient, helpful... you name it. Evan today was no exception - a really nice guy with a sense of humor and a delight to talk to.
