I ordered a tail bag and saddle bags from Viking. Very expensive with the Canadian dollar exchange.
1. They charged me $115 in shipping fees.
2. The tail bag arrived in a box from Fedex along with the hardware for the saddlebags - but NO saddlebags. A receipt in the box shows the saddlebags are part of the order.
3. Phoned Viking several times over 2 days - can't reach a real person. Left messages, never got a call back.
4. Viking charged $115 in shipping fees but never told me that there will be additional fees for delivery by Fedex. By the time all is paid for I am paying 4 times as much - with no product.
We have a few things from Viking and we love every single one of them! The backpack(pictured) has so much storage room for all different occasions. Super durable and is like new after many uses. I've recommended to a few other riders and they love their products just as much! #teamviking
Installed my bags same day i received them and was even able to go out for a short ride with them. These bags are really nice looking and built nicely too. I love the extra pocket my bag came with inside which is useful for my wallet, phone and extra keys i don't need dangling from my pants. Lastly, You cannot go wrong with their prices, they are rock bottom cheap, there is nobody out there selling anything better for these prices. Cant wait to get my hands on a tool bags and a swing arm bag next, thanks Viking Bags.
Ordered a windshield bag (WIN-280-PL). First off, it has a funky smell to it, which I ASSUME will wear off in time. Comes, perhaps from how its made? BUT the biggest complaint is the size or rather the lack of! The bags listed size on their site is 10.5" x 6.5" x 3", and yet, no matter how I measure it, the readings I get are, 9.75" x 5.375" x 2.75" (or if you include the flap, it is 3"). No way is the bag the size it is supposed to be! I would have no problem if the measurements were plus or minus. 250", but this is just ridiculous! Therefore, I can't recommend Viking Bags to any of my friends. It's a shame as the quality seems to be very good. However, if you don't mind a smell that hopefully goes away eventually and a bag that is not as large as you paid for, then Viking Bags is your best bet.
Bought the bags for my Sportster Iron 883.
The bags are very nice, but the hardware does not fit the bike that they claim it does. Watch this video if you want to understand what you're getting into: On youtube search for viking bags sporster install and see what the poster girl had to go through.
I had to modify parts of my bike and get new hardware to make the bags fit. The installation instructions are not even close. The hardware does not match their own parts. Customer service rep hung up on me almost immediately.
I expected more from this company.
2 months old Viking saddlebags have heat bubbles on both lids. Called Viking and they said to mail them back. I explained to them I'm on a cross country road trip. Just mail me the lids and I'll send the defective ones back. That I need my bags for my belongings. They said no to the lids that both bags have to be sent back. They offered me $100 refund. So u had to except the offer. I really had no option at the time.
I think that Viking could have recognition my situation and work with me better
Unbelievably bad experience. Had to return damaged hard bags, cracked. Took over 1 month to receive new ones. Opened quick disconnect hardware to find no instructions and missing parts. Read online pdf which I was told was outdated, but then told it's their only directions.
Called manager, supposedly. He then finally told me all of the parts don't get used but he had nothing to offer as to what gets used where in the process. Just figure it out through trial and error! So they have nobody that can talk intelligently about their own product. No specific directions. And they call a regular nut a lock nut. Have no clue if I have all the required hardware to start attempting assembly.
Pick up a bolt and install it. Which bolt? A bolt. Just put it all together. There. You're done.
The video is just as lame. They skip ahead to midstream installation. No detail. Not step by step. Something that should be so easy for ANY COMPANY to do with today's technology.
This past summer I did 3000 miles through 7 eastern European countries. I utilized the Viking Century Sissy Bar Bag and the factory Indian saddle bags. Around town, the factory bags were fine, but with my wife on the back and us on the road for 17 days, it became clear that the factory bags, although nice, simply were not functional. The openings and internal capacity is small and made our travel more difficult. I have since upgraded to the Viking Indian Specific Brown Leather Motorcycle Saddlebags with the help of Scott Adam over at VikingBags.com. The openings allow for loaded duffel bags to be placed inside and removed at our destination much easier and the locking feature improves security. The fit and finish of these bags are fantastic and at 1/3 the price of the factory bags, they are highly recommended.
Great products with customer service who I have corresponded with numerous times and have never had an issue. Viking is one of our go to when we are looking to upgrade luggage etc
I caught the bug of going on adventurous tours on my bike since I was very young. For my vocational trips, I needed to carry a lot of my stuff. I ordered a large-sized Sissy bar bag from Viking Bags for that purpose. It arrived earlier than expected and the quality exceeded my wildest expectations. A rigidly made sassy, clean, spacious, and very good looking bag that actually worths every penny. Thank you VikingBags. I will Buy more from this shop.
Super easy to use website. I quickly found the section to my bike. I originally wanted saddlebags but decided on a tail bag. The product is more then enough room for what I needed it. It also allows me to carry extra things with me if need be. The shipping was pretty fast, I had my bag up and on the bike within 3 days. They shipped from Ca and im in Northern Nevada. I will continue to pass on the viking name to all my friends!
I travel constantly and require comfort as well as space in a bag pack. Viking's sissy bar bag pack is ideal for all my needs. Viking Bag's customer service was kind enough to walk me through the buying process and answer any questions that I had. I would recommend this company to all my biker friends!
I was having a hard time finding lockable saddle bags that didn't look like cheap plastic when I came across Viking. The installation was a bit of a pain but the bags look great and are holding up great. Their customer service rep Scott Adam also followed up with my purchase, so pretty good there too.
Overall my experience with customer service has been pleasant. During my ordering process, there was an issue with my address. I heard from a rep to verify all info was correct and received my tracking confirmation, which the product arrived in a timely manner. My new tank bag appeared to be in good quality shape with no visible damage. Looking forward to ordering more moto gear from Viking Bags in the future!
This company was a pleasure to work with. All of

If you are out to make a long motorcycle trip, a pair of good quality saddlebags will make your ride more comfortable and efficient. These luggage bags fulfill your demands of carrying all essentials with you on your trip. I have bought these leather Viking Bags hard saddlebags and I'm completely loving this product. This company offers the best quality products at comparatively cheap prices as compared to the market. Highly recommend these saddlebags. "
I have 2 sets of bags and 2 jackets from this company and they are absolutely wonderful products. My service rep through all of this was and still is Scott Adams. He is a very professional person and was the best help possible as customer support. 5 stars for that guy.
I purchased Viking bags from their Australian distributor - which is just Viking bags, same support staff etc. it has been one month and still not shipped. No communication, have mentioned they will refund because they don't have the bags I ordered but have not confirmed - my first one star review. Avoid at all costs.
We have a few items from Viking and love all of them! The backpack has so much storage room for all different occasions. Super durable and is like new still! I've recommended it to a few riders and they also love it!
Answer: Because I'm a cheap skate. You get what you pay for.
Answer: There is no designed kit for that installation. But its simple to work around. All you need is a longer bolt that can sustain our qds hardware and the sissy bar all together which can be found at their local hardware store
VikingBags has a rating of 4.7 stars from 186 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally satisfied with their purchases. Reviewers satisfied with VikingBags most frequently mention customer service, sissy bar and swing arm. VikingBags ranks 6th among Motorcycle Gear sites.
