This site used to be good, I even landed 60$ live conversation tests before (1 hour on videotalk = 60$), but that was before... In the last year, they really screwed up... Customer service takes weeks or months to get back to you when you have even the most basic request, screener got extremely difficult and ultimately I stopped receiving tests at all. I wrote to them about that and they deactivated my account, well I said very good as I wasnt using anymore anyway so less of my data that you have stored, the better. I suggest to avoid this site

The time wasted trying to qualify for tests does not receive compensation. Unfortunately this means that UserTesting is an incredibly inefficient use of time. I have been active with UserTesting for a year and a half now. In that time I have only qualified for TWO tests. When I did those TWO tests all went smoothly and payment was prompt. Every other time a "screener" has disqualified me based on questions that have already been answered as part of my user profile. UserTesting needs to either pay a small sum for taking the screeners or have a better filter so that test screeners for which a reviewer does not qualify will not end up in the inbox.

I question the people saying they are making hundreds of dollars a month. The reality is, you don't qualify for over 90% of the tests. You are lucky if you can do 3 tests a week if you spend all day monitoring user testing on your computer, phone or tablet. You will make $20-$30 (maybe) if you spend 8 hours a day monitoring 5 days a week. If you want to make less than $1 an hour for your time, go for it.

I have been using for several weeks now and have qualified for ONE test the whole time for a grand total of $10.00 made. Very frustrating when you're trying to supplement some sort of income while trying to find steady work. Seems like no matter what answers I give when I take the screener, I don't qualify to review whatever it is they want to get reviewed. It's ridiculous. I have even answered the screeners with every answer they provide and was still denied. I think it is a total scam.

It seems to work, but they give you screener after screener and no jobs. The screening tests are very specific and maybe I was just unlucky, but it felt very much like a scammy survey site where they try to get as much free info from you as they can and never actually give you paid work. The reason for the 1 star though is that when I tried to remove the recording software off my computer it didn't let me. I am still trying to get rid of it! Not impressed at all!

When I decided to go back to school, I was looking at things that I could do to make money while still able to go to school. I came across user testing. Their site tells you that this will not make you rich, but it will allow you to make a little bit of cash. So far I have made $110. I do not open the site up everyday, but I still have a little bit of extra cash to use. They actually pay you. They pay through PayPal :) I would recommend that you also have another source of income. This is just a great way to make fun spending money. The money that I make from this site, helps pays for my gym membership :)

1 of the customer rated me 3 and my overall rating got under 4 and I stopped receiving tests. Wrote customer care for another review but no response. Finally decided to close and make another account which they deactivated as 1 person can have only 1 account as per policy. If they have strong rules, they should also have strong customer care and also should take care of their testers. I guess they pay us 10$ per tests but they are making way more than that.

Their mobile app for conducting tests have problems too often. You ended wasting a lot of time because the app can force close during the middle of the test or sometimes the video won't upload. When that happens you cannot restart the test, you just waste whatever 15 or 20 min already spent.
The desktop website works just fine.
Overall, there aren't many tests you can test. Lucky if you qualify for 1 or 2 a week. Quite a joke if you are looking to make extra money with this website.

I joined UserTesting two months ago. I was excited about the long list of tasks I had in my profile just after joining. I passed their initial test. However when I went to access that list of tasks that was originally in my profile, they had all disappeared except for one. I have only earned $10 so far just from that one task and it took them over a week to review it and pay me for it. Since then I've been offered only 3 tasks that require prequalification and for some reason I have not qualified for any of them despite being a 5-star user tester. I have yet to receive any additional assignments. Although the tasks themselves are interesting and fun it is not worth the low payout, the time spent waiting to get paid, or waiting to qualify for a test. It seems like a scam to me. Don't expect to make much money from this site.

I joined this site more than a month ago. I log in on almost a daily basis and take "screeners" which are a series of questions that determine your eligibility for a test. Needless to say, I have not qualified for a single test since I started. I tried to resolve the issue with support and they have yet to get back to me. Some of the qualifications are bogus, like you have to speak Swedish or work in very specific lines of work. I signed up with this with the hope of making some extra money and I am very disappointed.

2 years with the site, haven't qualified for more than 2 tests since. They don't offer any constructive feedback, and will easily pay-out for your test. Screener surveys will eliminate all chances you have at getting tests unless you make 75k a year, and are part of the exact demographic they need. Unless you lie on your test, which you SHOULD because why would anyone who makes 75k a year waste their time with this garbage, you won't make any money.

I've been doing this for a couple of years. It wont pay all of the bills but I dont feel bad about buying a latte everyday if I can make at least $10 a day. I usually make more depending upon my availability. Do not get discouraged if you dont get a lot of opportunities right away. It takes time to get ratings and build a repore.

I worked as a user tester for this site. Being a user tester entails waiting for a test you qualify for, then spending your precious time testing a website for them. Not long ago I qualified to take a test. A test where you had to be a teacher in order to qualify. Luckily I'm a teacher who spends time outside of my home country (u.s. A) in order to teach in Guatemala. They are very racist. Upon learning that I volunteer my skills in a third world country they decided they would not pay me for the test I performed. They also insulted my intelligence because I do not teach in the u.s.a.

From my experience, it is NOT possible to make worthwhile money from UserTesting, but it is possible for them to make money from you. This is a SCAM. They endlessly collect data about you, by surveying you for free: products you use, career related maters, etc. None of this has anything to do with your ability to navigate a web site. They get as big of a digital finger print from you as possible, by forcing you to use specific browsers, downloading aps., using multiple devices, even asking for access to your LinkedIn profile. I was never able to "qualify" for a test, so I spent significant time and never made any money. AVOID!

I believe they accept you after stealing your personal information. They ask initial "Scanner" question(s) before you are taken to recording for payment. EVERY TIME, you are denied the recording because your "scanner" questions did not qualify. However it seems they are just stealing these "Scanner" responses and your personal information, and you do not receive anything in return. I have been on the site for a week, have not qualified for any (except 1) of the surveys in any of the formats. The 1 I did qualify for then asked me to download the UserTesting.com Chrome Extension, Recording Device and App before I could continue. Once I downloaded everything, the site then froze and would not let me continue.

You spend a vast amount of time making an initial application video showing that you can review a website, only to fall at the screener questions. As everyone here says, you get asked a ton of questions and get rejected for every survey... and I mean EVERY survey. Total and utter waste of time. It didn't occur to me that this is a SCAM until now, clearly it's a clever way to get you to answer a load of personal questions and get a load of data about you for nothing. Utterly ridiculous.

I have tried USer testing for the last month. I have qualified for 14 tests, and taken them. The tests are okay, just follow the instructions, it's all legit. But after the test is complet, the recording is supposed ot upload, then they will pay you via PayPal. I succusfully completed 14 tests, but have only been paid for 7 of them. 7 remain unpaid. Imagine if your employer only paid you for half the work you do?

I have reached out to customer support bu thte do not repond. This is borderline a scam. I hope someone from usertesting sees this, and that they address this issue. There mayhave been a technial difficulty with one or two, but 7 out of 14? This is bad customer service.
