“Sociopathic automated payment system”

David H.
2/24/24

I hate that when paying my balance on my card I must tell the whole card number. With my Chase account I only have to give the last four digits. Also with Chase, it gives me the option to pay the total amount owed by pressing one key, but with US Bank I have to manually put in the exact whole amount. And it won't allow me to pay more than the amount. Because of this I will quit using my us bank card, and use my Chase card instead.

Probably THE WORST bank I have ever banked with. Terrible customer service. I opened a business checking account on line because they were offering a bonus for opening new accounts.(now I see why). From the beginning til now, 4 months later, I have had nothing but horrible customer service. Every time I have called, I have gotten different answers for the same question. Their employees are not trained well, Rude and unknowlegable. Will never bank with this institution again.

They relay you from one dept to another with a simple question.
Some of the workers scold you and cut you off when you talk, saying you signed the contract, when all you did was ask why the apr is so high.
There are various fees that they can change at any time and they won't reverse fees on things that are out of your reach, even when you pay in a timely manner.
I've been with this bank 17 years and I'm sick of it. I feel like they're stealing from me.

Tip for consumers:
Find a better bank.

I've been with US bank for a long time. The service has always been courteous. If I had a challenge and needed support they've given it. I can't think of one bad thing to say about US bank...! Don't get me started on wells fargo though.

US Bank has been with us for years. We appreciate all the hard work they've put into helping us out as customers. Our family has been with US Bank since I opened my first account at 18! We love the bank and they're all over, especially if you look around. Some people don't know it but they do offer locations in Hawaii, especially if you look through yelp and 711. Thank you again for everything US Bank!

Tip for consumers:
Look around for Banks on Yelp and 711 too, they have options for people looking for things like money gram. Very helpful on the islands, US Bank is on Honolulu, contrary to what it says sometimes. August 2022

I have always been extremely impressed with the quality of USBank employees that have helped me with website problems, mortgage help, credit card fraud and general questions online. Superb, intelligent, kind, courteous. They always find a way solve any problem quickly. I'm 75 and I'm slow and picky! I am a long-time customer.

I had US bank and they like to charge overdraft fees and switch dates around so this can happen. Make sure you always keep you receipts and monitor your a count daily. Since this issue I had automatic payments coming out and it messed up my credit. Also I went in to explain and show the manager as well as staff the issue and they did not even let you explain at all they were rude and thought they were always right. This is why they are going to be sued. I have four printed out statements all of them read different so be careful to choose different bank.

Tip for consumers:
Go elsewhere

I want to thank CeCe for taking care of us today! We were victims of fraud & she immediately took control of the situation! She was on the phone making sure our accounts were safe & we were protected! CeCe was a true professional in this situation… when we were leaving the bank she came out & gave both my husband & I cold water. She knew we were in a stressful situation & she did an outstanding job calming us down. Thank you CeCe!

Karla treated me like a human being, other than just a customer. She stayed on the phone with me until I calmed down and she knew I was okay. She said she couldn't go until she knew. I called almost having an anxiety attack about fees. Thank you so much Karla for helping me and making me feel better. We need more people like Karla!

I was doing some complicated transactions at the Lake St. Louis branch involving several accounts in March. Shareen was so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I had every confidence that she was making no mistakes while explaining carefully for my understanding. Her talents are being wasted as I think she could run a bank! Thanks Shareen!

I opened a checking and savings account at U.S. Bank on McHenry in Modesto, California. The teller who helped me was a pleasure to work with. She was very knowledgeable and through setting up my accounts. She made my day a pleasant day. Thank you for the terrific customer service.

Went to my home branch. Asked for in person help in applying for a secured visa prepaid (have $20 k in my checking, requesting $1500). Sat down w the assistant Mgr, face to face. She helped me walk thru the online process for applying. Spent 45 min going thru the process. Cool. Done. Told I would get a letter in the mail. Well, no mail came. Why? Wtf. Spent 50 min on the ph (5 ph calls 4 couldn't hear the rep on the other end even tho the auto menu voice is 100x louder), then being transferred from banker to card services to banker to other representatives. Finally, found out my application is not even in the system. So $#*! you US Bank. I'm shopping for another bank.

My acct was involved in some fraud. The bank deactivated my debit card to prevent anything else. They were kind to next day air my debit card to me. I work at UPS so I know how much they paid for shipping. Thank you for showing my respect, protection, and makes me happy to be your customer.

From the branch to the 24 hour customer service reps, this institution seems to care about their customers, not just lip service to get you to open an account, they actually deliver great service. The branch manager held my hand through a nightmare situation with citi bank, they understand everyday people and their needs. I feel very comfortable and secure with his institution. Thank you US Bank, what a relief to bank with an institution with integity and real commitment to servicing customers needs.

As I mentioned they're fraud team has locked me out of my accounts and all my monies left me stranded for days a new update my bank calls me just a little while ago and my banker what a wonderful person she is was concerned and made sure that I am aware that my account has been reopened and back in full control of myself thank God for good bankers I just think they're fraud team needs to be more quick at judging and getting things shifted and put back in control because it sure took an awful lot of days like the pandemics over get off of it get back to work people I don't know why it would take three full business days before they can release my funds somebody on the front end decided to make a decision over addresses but didn't want to follow through with releasing it after my banker and her manager had tried getting in touch with these people my banker and her manager were even ignored for 2 days over this and thank God for good bankers who helped me with a Band-Aid yesterday towards getting some of the salt out of my wound of being stranded so yes my bank has released my funds back to me and all things are good and back on track thank you to the Lakewood banker branch and the battleground Branch for helping me through the rough moments

Tip for consumers:
Like I said just make sure all your IDs match before you walk in there with the address that you want to use

I've been banking with US Bank for over 18 years, and unlike many banks (TCF in particular... who's process may have changed by now since they got sued over it) US Bank counts your deposits first, checks or debits against your account second. If you know how to use Google, and you can find a branch by you, you will get the help you need.

The statements by Joe B. Are insanely false and ridiculous. I have 2 checking accounts, 3 savings account and 2 US Bank Visa cards, I've never had an issue doing what I needed to do with regard to any of these accounts, and if I did have a question, they were easy to reach and always helpful.

I am NOT currently a fan of their mobile app as they've kept updating it to a point where bill pay is messed up, but otherwise it has been most useful for transferring money and managing my balances. I've traveled the country and never had an issue getting money when I needed it, or handling my finances. And the bill pay on their website has helped me manage my monthly payments (house, utilities, loans) with ease, which was suggested by a US Bank customer service rep.

And just for the record, I've been buying groceries (and countless other things) at Walmart for 20 years... guess how I paid for it.:-)

In general, over 18+ years, I can absolutely recommend US Bank. And no, I don't work there, I'm just a customer who opened an account there because it was across the street from where I worked at the time. I've always received the help I needed.

But to be clear, if you suck at managing money? NO BANK is going to be your savior!

I've been with them for 15 years. They treat me like I'm an important client with money. I'm not. I'm disabled. I love the small town feel I get when I go in a branch or call on the phone. They have treated well and helped me when I didn't think a big bank would. I'd recommend that you should take the time to go into a branch and ask them what they could offer you. Tell them what you're looking for, and they will take time to show you around and help you find it.

My name is Vincewhitley/*******@yahoo.com *******298 I do not have an account with USBank however today on 16th I was treated unfairly by USBank location Chicago, 3756 S Wallace. Jackson n Hewlett Tax service where I file my taxes every year was giving out 700 dollar Refund Advance loans so I went there to get one on the 15th of November cause I'm unemployed, Bill's, Christmas also times are very hard at this time, not to forget Covid. After I got the 700dollars with my paperwork they put the money on a American Express prepaid card so if I have any problems my name is on the card but not physically showing also I was told like last year n the year before American Express is partners with USBank where I can use my card at any USbank ATM to get money without being charged a Fee. So I stopped at the 3756 S Wallace location in Chicago about 710p to get some money out of the ATM and as soon as i put my card in the ATM machine, the ATM sucked my card in n wouldn't give it back and let's keep in mind the bank is closed n I'm broke no money. Soni immediately called American Express serve n they gave me the only two options they had send me a replacement card in the mail that take 10 working days or when the bank opens in the morning go up there n tell them what happened n see if they will give u your card back n if u have any problems cause it's a prepaid card n your name is not physically showing have them give us a call or u call us in front of the n we will verify that it's your card. Now the ATM that suck my card in is in the wall of the bank where the bank has access to it. So when I went to the bank the next morning to talk to Manager about what happened. She refuse to let me prove or verify that the card was mine. And broke as I was I was about to call the police but I didnt. She said that she was going to shred my card like I did something wrong. I tried to tell her my card got stuck in the machine n I have money on it n I can prove that this is my card easily. The Manager of USbank took my card out of the ATM from the inside of the branch. And told me I cant get it back n she was going to shred it n I'm broke as hell with 700dollars on it. Now I'm feeling really bad cause I know I'm being treated wrong without explanation and the Manager has my card talking about shredding it. I felt humiliated n hurt cause I was broke no gas, Bill's on table pressing, n here come Christmas. So I left the bank with my head down. So about 1p today which is the 16th I went back up there n the Manager didnt want to talk to me about my card that got stuck in the ATM that she took out n has it n her possession n I can prove n verify that it's my card. I dont understand it n I still dont. I feel like I was treated wrong n unfair. I feel like the customer service given to me didnt even come close. Right now I'm still broke n I have 700dollars on the card that I havent used since I got it due to an error with the ATM machine at that location so it wasnt my fault. It would have only took 5 minutes for me to prove with the Document's I have n making one call to American Express. I'm very disappointed n confused. USBank says they value there customers I cant tell cause that goes the same for the ones that dont have an account with them n use there ATM. Thank you for listening. The picture is what the card they gave me came in.
