I bought a Pixel 4a through Cex six months ago. After a couple of months I found that the phone was not responding to touch very well and there are certain letters and numbers that just won't work at all. It means sending messages takes ages and trying to watch anything through my Chromecast on TV is an arduous task. Basically, the phone is not fit for purpose. I drove all the way to a shop (10 miles away from where I live) to discuss the problems with this phone as it clearly says it has a 2 year warrantee. The assistant took one look at the phone and the two tiny, hairline cracks on the screen (which happened way after all the issues started) and point blank refused to do anything about it. I would say avoid this company like the plague, they are shafters. I don't consider paying £250 for a second hand phone cheap and I'm pretty sure they're in breach of trading standards. It is not worth it, keep away from them. I suspect most phones they sell start playing up soon after purchase.
Tried to claim a console i purchased off them as Boxed (and havent used since buying it has sat in the box as I never got round to opening it) is now graded as Discounted as it has a small scratch on it...
So they sold as in VGC and are trying to buy it back without me touching it as in dreadful condition.
SCAMMERS DO NOT USE
Staff also have no idea what they are doing - on a separate order I tried to trade in a EA sports road rash II mega drive game and their retro guy tried to tell me it weas American as it had a yellow plastic clip on it... THEY ALL HAVE THIS.
Bad customer service few of the staffs are rude maybe because of my skin is brown I regret ever stepping my foot there
After selling bad stuffs they give bad attitudes to cover their mess
Yesterday in Exmouth I brought a humax free view box for £135, I got it home to Torquay only to find it's a satellite connection to which we haven't got.
No problem we will take it back in the morning to Torquay shop as we have 48 hours to take it back,
Anyway we go into the cex shop and explain everything to the guy, yes we can take it back says the salesman he offered me a voucher for the price I paid for it so I no I want my money back and I was politely told no a voucher or they can buy it back off me for £63 that's less than 24 hours after I paid £135 for it.
It's a bloody disgrace. Never again will I buy anything from this company.
I'm fun of retro gaming so I use to sell and buy Gameboy games from Cex shop and I'm very satisfied with their professional service. Whatever I order is usually dispatched within one day and if some problem comes up I just pop up in shop and they resolve it. I recommend.
Bought a samsung galaxy 4watch £150 has a high battery drain 6/7 hours normal use, thought it was faulty, took back to wythenshawe cex who exhaustively tested it by leaving on a desk and pronouncing no fault found how unsurprising.
Normal stores give more than a 2 day return slot for possible faulty goods so I am presuming the 2day policy is supposed to be a get out of jail card for cex? Doesn't matter I'm not going back in cex again.
Shop put wrong disk is packet. I wanted 3d got 2d. Asked to return item to test. Test what in reply? It's not on the box. We need to test the item for a refund! You didn't put the item in the box? But we need to test it. Take it to any shop. Take what? The disk. What disk? The disk you want to return. You didn't put it, in the box? They have the logic and reasoning on a dead goat. I don't care if the are polite if at the end of the day they are physically brain dead without logic or reason. Will never shop there again. £2.80 to park, £4 in fuel, double that if you want to return something. Why bother. They wonder why Amazon win. It's called economics.
1p for each dvd what the actual word.
About 15 years back it use to be like 50p to £1 a dvd
I remember this as a friend made like £300 on 3 huge bags of dvds. I have loads of dvds no way am I taking them to CEX to get like a £1. What has happened. I got more from another site.
Sort your self's out CEX. PLUS TURN THE FREAKING MUSIC DOWN YOUR NOT A NIGHTCLUB.
Will entice you with their shiny items, convince you to buy and pay for them with your hard earned cash, kick you when you least expect it, rob you, and then spit on your helpless soul as you try to grapple with what has just happened to you. Slimy slimy company. Rather give the money to a begger! Stay away, far far away from this hell hold of a company. Evil is way to friendly for the despicable cretins running this place. I'm off to Gregg's instead.
150 dvds sold for £6.70, most bought for 1p this company seriously needs too rethink they're pricing, considering the cheapest dvd in store they sell for £1 thats 100x they're money on each dvd minimum, con artists this company needs too be boycotted
Staff members actively try to rip you off. Tried returning a game within the 2 day period to get another and was offered 7 pounds as they don't do that when it's listed in the returns policy. Tried to trade in a ps4 and was told they would have to deduct 70 pounds for a dent in the controller. Have no idea how cex remains in buisness everything is severely overpriced.
Yesterday bought a used Fitbit tracker from cerex in HAMMERSMITH. When l arrived home l attempted to charge it. After two hours l found the item was faulty and NOT charging.
Today l returned to the shop and told them of the fault.
The assistant took the item and said "give us 30 minutes for a WARRANTY check!
Waiting that time in the shop... and nothing seemed to be happening
I said to the female assistant... look just give me a refund, put the money back on my card.
She became very agitated and said " we can't refund on goods, you can only have an exchange!
Thinking obviously that l was the village idiot she said "read our conditions" pointing to a laminated notice
On the counter.
I have already explained the item was FAULTY. I said the item should have been tested BEFORE being sold.
A word of warning to CEREX... this refusal was in breach of UK CONSUMER LAW
She still refused to make a refund... so l made it clear that l would go directly to TRADING STANDARDS
And the refusal might lead to a SMALL CLAIMS court action.
Another assistant then told her to issue a REFUND
A WARNING to CEREX... this REFUSAL was in BREACH OF UK CONSUMER LAW
It seems that by CEREX operating this "NO REFUND" policy... that they are a SCAM FRANCHISE and my
Advice is AVOID AT ALL COST!
I recently purchased a huwawei p30 from cex in Colchester after a month google maps stopped working, found out it was an issue between huwawei and Google so is a fault with the phone but cex have refused to replace or refund just saying it not down to them crap customer service I think..
Ordered an iPhone c grade online and the fingerprint sensor did not work, returned it. Ordered another and the screen was coming away, a large chip out of the body and the battery completely discharged after one hour, returned it. Contacted cex customer care and Ramson said he would ensure the next order was if good quality. I reordered for a third time. Ramson sent me photos of the phone that was dispatched to me. It showed a very dirty and marked phone, in fact it looked disgusting. I emailed Ramson at customer care and he was extremely unhelpful. I am awaiting delivery with trepidation and expect to have to return this one too. Will not buy from CEX again.
Avoid.
48hr returns policy? = illegal.
Refusing to refund? = illegal and immoral.
Conning an old lady out of £130 for an obsolete product worth 50 at most = disgusting and immoral.
Company policies in direct opposition to Consumer Rights 2015 Acts =illegal, immoral and disgusting.
SHAME on YOU!
Awful customer service within store.
They do not understand consumer law of faulty items and do not abide by their 24 month warranty
Avoid at all costs!
I've purchased over 5 phones from them over the years and each one has been littered with issues. My latest was a Samsung galaxy S10. I paid over £300 for it... well I paid over £300 for an iPhone from them which had a broken mic, speaker and would constantly cut off phone calls. I traded it in (with some fuss) for a Samsung. I first noticed it had screen burn (which for the price of £300 you'd think it would be close to immaculate seeing as on Facebook brand new Samsungs with screen burn sell for less than £100). I took it back into them with the receipt. I wanted a refund. Not a trade in. Not a gift voucher. My money back. They refused. They would only let me trade in or get a voucher. I didn't want to as I was done buying from them. They're goods were faulty and every electronic I purchased from them had faults which they obviously knew about. After some back and forth I was told I could sell back the phone. Which they then said because it had screen burn it was only worth £70... £70! I paid £300 a month before hand and it came with screen burn. They denied it was sold to me with it and that I must've burnt the screen but I've always taken great care of my electronics and £300 is alot of money to me so I of course cherished the phone and had it in all the protective casing and didn't over use the phone. They scam people constantly then refuse to refund you. They under pay their staff heavily and they sell faulty and broken goods for high prices knowing they're not worth that. Cash converters are much better. EBay is probably more trust worthy. Avoid this shop they're out to rip off and over charge on everything they can
They agree a price then they try to knock you after testing even if tests come back good, Don't waist your time.
I was looking forward to receiving it only to be told several days later that it is no longer available!
Dropped off a phone for sale and after nearly 48 hours, they neither got in touch nor provided suitable updates for anything, without making the agreed payment. You're better off pawning your stuff on the street.
Answer: Go to resolver.co.uk and make a complaint against CeX, they will take it more seriously
Answer: B grade should mean operational but will have visible signs of use, I would avoid and buy on ebay probably get a nearly new one that hasn't been through the hands of muppits
Answer: Unlocked simply tells you whether or not a product is open to all networks or locked to a specific one. For example, if a product states EE/Virgin/3 then it will be locked to that specific network, if however it says unlocked or any network you are able to put any service provider into that product. The A and B seen in the product description is a way pf grading the phone and stating what condition it is considered to be in. A grade is the best grade possible for a phone/table/laptop/camera. This means that it should be immaculate and have all of its original accessories. B grade is considered used and may have some general wear and tear marks, which will not affect the usage pf the product. It may not have its original accessories but will come with anything that is required to allow use the product properly.
