Personally for me, most of the best opportunities would require relocation to another city away from where I live. That could be in another state or even neighbouring cities. This comes with a lot of costs and commitments. So earlier even before you were sure of committing to a job for a long period of time, you have to invest in ten different things to be able to start and see how it actually is your cup of tea. And I feel that's really why the majority of the workforce in my network lives with on a day to day basis.
But I had zero worries while joining up with Turing! And to no surprise, it has turned out to be so much more than I expected! I'm definitely holding onto this cup of tea:)
The balance. I've found the focus on work-life balance and well-being extremely refreshing and freeing. You're never overworked or pushed to work beyond 40 hours in a week.
Here at Turing.com, I'm a part of the content team, and I'm primarily helping out with developer facing content and copy efforts. If you're searching for Turing jobs or you wish to be among us, I'd say just put your best foot forward and showcase the extent of your talent. It will definitely speak for itself, and Turing's ears are always seeking the sound of talented folks!
I never expected it would be this feasible and stress-free to work at Turing. The people the atmosphere and everything is so promising.
The best remote job ever. TRULY
I'm an Account Executive at Turing. I am responsible for taking inbound calls, reviewing the Turing model with prospective customers, and managing their experience when they decide to move forward with us - ideally helping them to hire engineers.
Good things:
- I like the autonomy of being able to manage myself and my work, and the ability to work from anywhere.
- Management is very open and communicative about navigating onboarding.
- As long as you're getting your work done, Turing is pretty flexible about how you're getting it done.
- The organization has a true sense of vision and mission that trickles down from the CEO. There is also a sense of teamwork and collaboration even though everyone is located in different regions across the world - Turing does a great job of trying to cultivate a global workplace culture!
Room for Improvement / Heads-up:
- For those who want to be a part of the Turing family, be prepared to be a little overwhelmed - especially in the beginning - it is a startup and there are still processes that are not yet figured out and not a lot of SOP's created for the processes that do exist.
- The training process is also very minimal, which means that you're kind of learning as you go and when you don't know something - it can hold up your workflow while you try to figure it out or ask for help. This means it can be easy to get blocked. That being said these are issues management is aware of and is trying to improve. On top of that everyone is very nice and helpful (just very busy as well :) ).
I'm working at Turing.com as a Content Specialist from India. So here goes my Turing review: My role mainly requires me to write blogs, work on scripts for videos and conduct interviews. The best part about Turing is the flexibility it provides with time and the fact that I do not have to step out for work. I save a lot of time that would otherwise go in commute and utilize that in taking time out for myself and my hobbies. One thing that really troubled me in a non-remote job was the fact that I had to get up at least about a couple of hours before the office would begin to get ready and leave for work. At times, it would take about an hour to book an Uber due to the surge in demand for a cab in the early hours of the day. Traffic was another issue. Other than that, the flexibility of time was also a problem. I would not get time to work on my hobbies or skill-sets. Turing has helped me overcome these issues. The flexibility it provides has helped me manage my time better. Working remote has always been a dream, and now that I can work from anywhere, I'd rather work from a hill station than from a cubicle. Honestly, if you're super skilled in your field of work, there is nothing else you need to worry about. In fact, once you join the organization, you are going to have a lot of fun (apart from work, of course)!
Hi, I'm Yogen Gidwani and I work at Turing. I'm in the PSS team and my work involves doing NTE calls with the developers. I've been working at Turing for about 6 months. The one thing I like the most about remote work and especially Turing is the flexible working hours. In a non-remote setting, the biggest challenge is commuting to work every day and the traffic you get stuck in. But now I don't have to worry about all that and I enjoy my leisure time doing what I actually enjoy.
Hello, my name is Megha and I'm from Kolkata, India ( 5 months of experience with Turing). I'm an extremely upbeat Talent Acquisition Specialist who works on the non-technical side of Turing full-time. Turing was the most incredible decision I've ever made in the following ways: 1. Global exposure - Our internal team includes employees from practically every country, resulting in a culture that is both diverse and enjoyable. As a TA expert, I begin each day by engaging with someone from the United States, then Germany, Argentina, India, Japan, and so on. From the comfort of my own home, I have access to the whole world. 2. At Turing, there is no micromanagement. You are in charge of your initiatives, and the final results are more important than an overly convoluted procedure! 3. Rapid growth with twice-yearly assessments. The organization values its workers' efforts and ensures that they are compensated on time! One of my issues with non-remote work was the cost of relocation. 2. Time wasted in commuting on a daily basis 3. In the overall CTC, there is less transparency due to the low compensation range. Don't be concerned about the application procedure! Simply be yourself and tell us what you can bring to the table that no one else can. Turing is receptive to new concepts!
Hi, I'm from Pakistan and I'm a Data Scientist at Turing.com. My job at Turing is to optimize & streamline the vetting process for developers and hiring entities.
Apart from Data Science, I've recently started focussing on the sales funnel with occasional insights and analyses for the supply ops.
As far as my Turing review is concerned, I enjoy the diversified, startuppy environment at Turing, apart from all the fast learning opportunities. However, my main driving force is remote work. I even worked for 6 months remotely before joining Turing. I find myself very much compatible with a remote and flexible working environment.
The city which I come from has a major traffic problem. During office hours, the traffic situation gets even worse. With the hot whether, it becomes really hard to commute in summer times.
Although, there's no shortage of regular jobs here, finding jobs in the Data Science sectors is not an easy thing. As I am a Data Scientist, I hardly find any options here tho the situation might be different for devs working in other areas.
I work with the Developer Success Team, also known as the Trial Period Buddy at Turing.com
I connect with new developers who are in the trial period to check if they are settling down well or not.
To check if they are getting all the necessary support from the Turing team and the client to make their trial period smooth.
I also have to find out if the developers are facing any challenges, and of course mainly if they like their new project.
I'm also involved with the Hiring Operations at the Turing company in interview scheduling, briefing, and preparation process.
I make sure that the developer is well aware of the client's profile, share interview-related tips, and recall them about the basic online interview etiquettes.
Sharing responsibility and giving freedom to perform our tasks in our best way are things that I love the most about Turing.
Remote work is a blessing at any given time, especially during this pandemic situation. Here are a few things I love about remote work.
Traveling and commuting is a major problem in my city. Traffic and public transport system are not so good, so people have to drive for hours to get to the office and back home. With remote work, I don't have to travel anymore.
No more hygiene or sanitization related issues since we're working from home
Flexible working hours. Can start and complete my work anytime.
And the best thing is that we get to eat freshly cooked meals with our dear ones at home.
Turing has the culture of accommodating all sorts of talent and gives them the perfect atmosphere to develop themselves as per their liking and interest.
My name is Long Le. I'm from Vietnam. I'm a Fullstack developer with a specialization in NodeJS, ReactJS, Python. I have been Turing remote software engineer for more than a year. What I loved most about Turing and remote work is the chance to work with a very nice team from US, receive a stable and good income which would be impossible for me if it was a non-remote job.
Most jobs in my country are remote but low income job. And most high income jobs in my country is non-remote jobs. But Turing solved all of these problems for a guy who wants to have a high income job but still can work remotely like me.
I have found my Turing job super fulfilling. I had a chance to build a product from scratch with my current Turing client. It's one of the best experience I've ever had because we built something when it still discussed on paper to when this product was funded millions of dollar.
The time management and communication with a client in remote work can be a bit difficult at first but if you feel confident about your programming skills and you think you're good enough and deserve more income than your current job, don't be afraid to practice some soft skills and apply.
I'm from Brazil, and my name is John Calistro. Since October 2021, I've been working at Turing, where I'm in charge of hosting webinars to educate engineers, spread the word about remote work with Turing, and engage the community in the south of Brazil. Working at Turing is a dream come true for me; I've always wanted to do what we do, which is to assist developers improve their life. I worked remotely for years until accepting a non-remote position just before joining Turing, and that experience made me pledge to myself that I would never work in a non-remote environment again, and I want every developer to have the same flexibility. So, developers, pay attention to what I'm saying and start the Turing screening process right now! If you currently work in a non-remote job and have never worked remotely before, I understand how intimidating it can be; however, a remote job is not difficult to adjust to; stress reduction, time with family and friends, and no commuting are just a few of the benefits that will make you never want to work in a non-remote job again; additionally, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the most amazing American companies and developers from around the world, while being paid in dollars.
My Turing Reviews: If you're a software engineer who is serious about remote work and wants to work on some serious projects, then you should definitely try applying for remote US software jobs/ US Silicon Valley jobs through this platform called Turing com.
You can find 100s of jobs on the Turing jobs page. They post close to 200 live jobs daily. These are jobs for which Turing actively seeks to hire top-quality software engineers.
Turing com offers good-quality jobs to software developers from around the world. There are a lot of developers who work with them and are earning a good salary.
You might find a few negative posts about them, but they are totally fake and planted by other players in the space. I personally know friends who work with them and earn a handsome salary in US dollars.
Some of the best software developers have written about their experiences. You can read those Turing reviews here ( www.linkedin. Com/pulse/five-things-developers-revealed-turingcom-review-sanika-tamhane/) and take a smart decision to apply for Turing jobs. Best wishes.
I'm a Content Writer at Turing.com. I'm from India. I've worked with Turing for 5 months now and every single one of them has been a blast. I happened to read a bunch of Turing reviews online and got curious, to say the least. The company sounded like an innovative and exciting one. And it lives up to its promise.
I applied to join the company in late October. The interview process was lightning fast and in no less than a week, Turing hired me. I joined the company in November. What I've come to love here most is Turing's remote work culture. I had only ever worked with local companies so far; this is my first time working with a truly American company. The difference in work culture is stark. At Turing, you're not micromanaged. There's no hand-holding. You're given the freedom to perform your work as you see fit. There's trust and respect for you and your work.
I work alongside some incredible people, which, I guess, shows Turing's abillity to attract the best talent. I work with Ivy League alums, ex-FAANG employees and just overall highly-skilled folks. My collegues all excel in their own field of work and I'm thrilled I get the chance to learn from them everyday. Turing also encourages you to forge relationships outside of your immediate team. There's regular super-fun team-building activities that help you connect with teammates from all over the world.
Turing is a wonderful place to work. I'm grateful to work here.
I was introduced to Turing through a friend who sang praises about their remote work culture. Now I'm writing this during the infamous 2020-21 pandemic where the world was forced to go remote. But here was a company which has been bridging the geographical gaps and vaulting over the language barriers for years! Curious, I decided to apply for a position as a Content Writer and sent in my resume. I didn't really expect much out of it, after all I had no experience working for a global company, only ever having worked at local companies but they got back to me quick!
The interview and onboarding process was seamless. What came as a shock to me was how much free reign was handed to you. Of course there are certain deadlines to be met, but working with people from all kinds of time zones is a unique experience all together. The kinds of doors that open up for your career when you work with Turing are endless. You learn and grow with the best in the industry, in a global setting where the standards of work and the culture are impeccable, and as close to perfection as you can get.
The work culture is joyfully relaxed where you are encouraged to reach out to as many people as possible, across countries and departments. One would assume that remote working can get pretty lonely, but not at Turing! There is so much going on that it's sometimes hard to keep track of all the organized chaos. Chess championships, Christmas games, Fitness challenges… you name it!
There is no one breathing down your neck, communication is encouraged and asking for guidance has never been so easy yet sublime. It's not very often where you wake up on a Monday morning and DON'T feel that dread creeping in as you face another long week of work. Your home is your work place; you are in your most comfortable zone, working during hours that you picked out and at a company whose work culture is like Wonderland! It's almost unbelievably magical how many aspects seem to be perfectly aligned to suit your comfort!
To anyone considering growing your career at Turing: Come Aboard, I say! We are a growing family and would love to have more talented people join us! As they say, the more the merrier! I hope that my Turing Review has been helpful in some way!
Hi! I'm Sebastian and I'm from Colombia! When I started my journey as a freelance product designer, I was excited about the things to come but also very aware of the challenges that I would have to face.
The main struggle I had been dealing with was the need to invest most of my supposed free time into finding new clients and getting new projects. Usually, the projects I found by myself were short-term and, most of the time, not very exciting. This task alone was overwhelming, and it was taking its toll on the expectations that I had about being an independent professional.
I signed up to the Turing jobs platform with the idea that they were just another job board that would simply put me in touch with potential clients, but I couldn't be happier to be proven otherwise. So here goes my Turing review:
Turing finds me outstanding tech projects that match my abilities, take care of all the agreement details, and follow my relationship with clients every step of the way.
You feel fully engaged in a Silicon Valley tech start-up without sacrificing the perks that come with the freelance life. At the same time, you don't have to worry about late payments nor continuously looking for new projects. Turing is always paying attention to you and your projects, they feel like a professional companion.
Now I can truly say that I'm making the most of my career as a Turing remote freelance product designer, working with innovative tech start-ups across the USA, and stepping up my skills every day. In the meantime, I get all the free time I need and want, and the professional stability too, to do the things I couldn't do before.
Give Turing a go! You won't regret it!
Hi, I'm from India and I'm part of the content team with Turing.com.
To be honest, I'm not a fan of a regular job. In my previous workplace, I was always traveling and doing most of my work remotely. I believe traveling teaches you a lot, and if you can somehow find a perfect mix of both work and travel at the one time, that's a heavenly match!
I wasn't very sure about Turing initially. I only explored their website, followed their social media handles, and read some positive as well as not-so-positive reviews about the company. But like they say, never judge a book by its cover. And that's what I did! I followed my intuition and now I'm working with the most amazing people across the globe.
The best thing about working at the Turing company is that people here appreciate your work. Even if you make some mistakes, they're always there to help you out, so you never feel left out.
So far, I'm enjoying working at Turing. I'm part of one of the most critical teams of the organization i. E. content team. I have the coolest mentors who never lose their calm. They have been guiding me through the process and getting me familiar with all the dos and don'ts.
Also now I don't have to encounter unnecessary stress, or bear futile traveling expenses, and don't have to expose myself to pollution as well.
- No doubt Turing is a startup and it operates as one, so you'll have enough startup challenges here
- The values, principles, and ethics shared by the leaders trickle down across the entire organization, and they motivate you to take purposeful action at every step
- Remote work has given me the freedom to start my day whenever I want
- I can travel and work at the same time
- People are fun at Turing
- Best mentors you'll ever find. Cool, calm, and hard-working!
I'm the Lead Designer at Turing.com and I've been working for the past 2 years on all things design at the company ranging from product features (UI/UX) to a little bit of animation and creatives for ads. I've seen the company grow from a pre-seed stage to closing our Series B round at the end of 2020 and I've been able to contribute to and grow with it.
UI/UX design is still in its infancy here in Colombia, especially if you don't live in a large city, like Bogotá, Medellín, or Cali, so the opportunities are scarce and the compensation is not the best. I used to spend 2 hours every day getting to work and then returning back home by public transit and had to wake up very early in order to get to the office in time. Now I can get more hours of sleep and enjoy time with my family back in my hometown.
I love the flexibility of my work hours, the opportunity to work with people coming from Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn, to name a few, having financial stability as well as the possibility of getting back to traveling around the world once the pandemic ends (working at Turing allowed me to travel to Europe during my first year).
For aspiring Turing software developers, a word of advice. Sometimes you might have the feeling that you are not good enough in your area of expertise. Maybe you are comparing yourself to a successful designer or engineer on social media working at a Silicon Valley company and wonder if you'll ever get an opportunity like that. When you've been working at a local level only, taking that initial step is hard: is my English good enough, are my skills as good as I think they are, how do I even get a chance? My advice is that now is the time to take that step, that the opportunities are now global and that your journey to work with a US company starts here.
Answer: My experience hasn't been good. They keep you waiting with no response.
