We have used TH house/pet sitters three time in the last year and have been very lucky to have had responsible, clean and caring sitters. Using their website and app is another story. Both are extremely non-intuitive and often take you to screens that have nothing to do with what you intended. They both look like they were written by someone who was starting their first job out of tech school. It is so bad, that we had a person contact us about when to come to sit a month after we had rejected them since we had already accepted someone else. This was very embarrassing for both parties. Other reviewers have shared their horror stories about bad sitters and so far we have been lucky. We will probably continue to use the service when Virus passes and people can travel again.

I belonged to Trusted House Sitters for almost a year before I had the need to use them. I found the website somewhat difficult when creating my profile. My first and only experience with sitters went very well. They were what they presented themselves to be and we came home(early) to a sparking house, happy doggies, and even some volunteer shopping on their behalf in light of the coronavirus and a self-isolation on our part. I am concerned with the negative reviews of the site. I was under the impression that damage, etc. by sitters was covered by the insurance provided with membership. If the review is reliable, I think to not remove the name of a totally unsatisfactory sitter is unacceptable.

We've used Trusted House Sitters twice now and both our pet sitters have been wonderful! Both times, we were very impressed with how both Jeanette and Kelly deeply cared about our two kitties Maggie and Molly. The cats were very comfortable with both women right off the bat which put our minds at ease. We didn't worry about them at all when we were away as they both had sent us pics and updates while we were away. When we got home, our house was cleaner than we left it! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Trusted House Sitters!

I have used Trusted Housesitters for over a year now, and have had 3 different sitters live in my house taking care of my cats. I find the annual fee to be reasonable, since it covers unlimited houses sits, and the background checks and insurance provide some reassurance when having random strangers live in your house and take care of your pets. I think it also filters out less serious people. I've had pretty good experiences with the sitters, whom I select after online interviews, and only choosing people with reviews from other users. The website however gets steadily worse, and the support gets worse and worse. The calendar function no longer works, and it can sometimes take weeks to hear back from the support staff. They don't answer their phone, and a bot answers their chat. If I had any real issues, I doubt they would help in a timely manner. I have tried using the vet advice hotline twice, but they are so hampered by legal considerations that they are not at all useful. The site also used to offer enhanced security background checks for sitters, but no longer does. I have wondered this year if they are giving up and going out of business. I hope not! It's really helpful to have someone live here with my cats. (Cat sitting services charge by the hour.)

The trusted house and dog sitters (a couple) that took care of my house and my old chocolate lab, Luna, went beyond what I could have hoped for. They sent pictures regularly, so I could see that Luna was enjoying her favorite walking spots, and when I returned the house was sparkling clean! Their reviews had indicated that they were an excellent choice, but they were better than I ever imagined. Such a relief to know my dog and home were in good hands!

My friend and I just returned from doing our first house and pet sit. The people we sat for were lovely and their home was clean, modern and beautiful. The cat was great! The owner kept in touch with us over the 4 day sit, which we appreciated.
We chose to start locally in order to get some reviews and already we are receiving more requests. I have read the other recent comments on site jabber and I feel for those who have had a bad experience with their sitter. There are good people out there! Both owners and sitters. I do not agree that Trustedhousesitters should remove a review. (If this is the case, as it is not fair to owners, or to good sitters).

I have used trustedhousesitters numerous times over the last few years with 100% satisfaction. When I first heard about the site, I thought that it was too good to be true, but it is not! We have met some lovely people and become friends with some - all trustworthy and reliable. People tend to look after a home as if it were their own. I firmly believe that anyone who misuses the site would be banned in a hurry. Highly recommended!

I found Trusted House Sitters site a total relief! I was frantic about finding someone to watch my dog for a month while I was out of the country and obit has one month left to find someone. The site was easy to navigate and seemed really affordable. I received 60 or so applications from people interested and went with the first couple who responded to my ad. The site did the initial vetting for me and had reviews to help me pick the right people for the job. The couple worked out. I felt completely at ease on my trip because I felt my house and dog were well taken care of.

I live in New York City, where I have three small dogs who have never been boarded. I'd always relied on a family member but her job and location changed, and with that, given the cost of pet care in this town, my ability to take long vacations all but disappeared.

I was very skeptical when I first heard of TrustedHouseSitters, because a pet sitter who would work for free sounded much too good to be true. But because I don't want to board my dogs, I signed up with the site and published my vacation dates. I was incredibly impressed with the caliber of applicants and my biggest initial difficulty was choosing among the many excellent sitters who responded.

I have since used TrustedHouseSitters several times. In all cases, I was able to find friendly, dedicated, dog lovers who got on well with the dogs and who allowed me to keep my plans while knowing that my pups were in good hands.

First there seems to be NO customer service. The button for live chat goes in a circle and does not work. The phone # never has a live person and directs you to the live chat. Get the picture? Have said that, Trusted Housesitters has been a life saver for me. I have never failed to find a good sitter for my cat (for a month stay or just a few days) and I could NOT travel as much as I do if I had to pay someone to sit my house & cat. I can post ads as many times as I want for my yearly fee I read a lot of the reviews by home owners of each sitter before I pick one. Unfortunately I fear many home owners do not want to be honest and ruin someone's chances to get another sit which is bad.
