I still remember that i couldn't wait to come back from work to see Ian and the rest of the team, travelling like crazy, from tropical destinations, through desserts, through mountains and distant shores.
Almost as if this period belonged to another life...
I landed here after searching google for "what happened to the Travel Channel". I can see that I'm not alone in my feelings that the programming has declined to an all time low. Ghosts? Paranormal hunting? It's absolute trash.
I used to enjoy travel channel. What's up with all the stupid paranormal and finding big foot shows? Did you guys change your CEO? What a shame.
I at one point kept cable to watch the travel channel... which was about traveling! No more! All about ghosts and idiot people following! I am done even looking what's on the channel! Stupid! Used to love it.
Short and simple... this is no longer the Travel Channel and the owners should be hit with fraudulent advertising by keeping that name. There is nothing to do with travel... only supernatural crap.
I used to watch The Travel Channel all the time. Great shows about great adventures around the globe. Now it's all crap about supernatural BS designed to entertain morons.
Why is it that the channel has being playing reruns as new shows. I'm positive I've watched the expedition unknowns already and then tonight ghost adventures (which is one of my least favorite shows on the channel now) is playing a rerun and has it listed as a new show. Hoping this isnt what happens all season.

Ghost adventures has nothing to do with travel. How can the producers of this channel read these reviews and not do something about the programming.
I hate when they yell and scream but don't have any proof. You are investigators why in the hell you are jumping when you need to tell the camera man to point over there. The yelling is scaring the ghost away... lol. Lord Jesus!
I used to check the tv guide to see what is on, but now I can't even remember the channel number, because it sucks! Andrew Zimmerman was my favorite, he might have made a off color remarks, that was his mulligan. I'm Asian, and I took no offense.
Ghost shows are fun BUT the language should be good. I watch all of them, but I hate it when Amy on Dead files just blurts out that ugly word. ALL THE TIME. It doesn't make her A better actress and you can tell her I said so.
I used to watch this channel all the time. I don't have a problem with paranormal shows but it's been way overdone. What I have the most problem with though is the lazy writing on these shows. I don't need highlight shows where the same thing is repeated over and over. That is just plain lazy writing. Gives the writing an excuse not to write new content. I have now gotten to the point that if something is nothing more than an extended version, or highlight show, I delete it and don't watch. I watched it once, I don't need to see it again, it wasn't that interesting the first time around. Come on, don't drag out shows such as Ghost adventurers during their hiatus just by editing together a bunch of stuff from the regular season and put it on for 2 hours. BORING. Please come up with a new show, let's get back to travel shows.
I have difficulty hearing Scott Wolter's narration of America Unearthed because the "background" music is too loud. Would appreciate the voice volume be increased or the music volume be lowered.
What used to be a nice mixture of food and travel programming has turned into a complete joke of a network. Paranormal activity is on the same level as horoscopes. All of the spook shows on "Trvl" is nothing but contrived nonsense.
This channel has gone to the dogs. Well they wouldn't want the crap either. Guess it's cheaper this way. Use to watch this channel every day. Now it's been over 4 months.
Every time I turn on the travel Channel I get frustrated! There are no shows about travel anymore! Only Ghosts and Paranormal. It's ridiculous! There were great shows about food and different places all over the world. And Josh Gates had some interesting shows too. Now it's a joke. Wake up executives. There are still people who travel and enjoy seeing shows about travel! What a disappointment! If I could give you less than 1 star, I would.
USED TO LOVE THIS CHANNEL! But What happened to TRV channel lately... Nothing about travel around the world anymore... All about ghost activitys things. I stop watching this channel. Sorry... Has to get better and interesting...
I really enjoy watching the ghost stories on your show. But what I don't understand is why are most of the actors former fbi agents and wanna be investigators. They have no place in this business. They didn't attend film courses and their just in it to make money and their phoney and fake about them selves. Seems like everybody wants to be a paranormal investigator with no experience. Bring back NICK GROFF what's the problem with you guys
NO MORE PARANORMAL SHOWS! What are the head honchos thinking? They're obviously not very intelligent. Paranormal shows are everywhere now... yawn. There are more commercials during Ghost Adventures than there is content of the show. And I am sick to death of reality shows. To me, they often portray the Ugly American. Bad grammar, vulgarity, sexual innuendo... What happened to the classy, intelligent shows such as Fraser? Is it because everything is so dumbed down now that younger viewers can't understand the nuances in the repartee between characters that makes it so funny? How many show biz types actually have critical thinking skills? Do all the programs have to have potty humor to make it funny? How low we have become. I will no longer watch the Travel Channel until it is under new management who think wisely about programming and ads. And they're worried about low viewership, but yet wonder why? Too many commercials! There must be a cadre of baboons running this network!
