I've been a member of Thrive Market for 2 years. I buy about $100 of food each month. Great food. I've learned about Amy's soups from them, and other good things. Their customer service has been great to me. If I call with a question, then send me an email asking how it went. And it always goes fine.
Once you give them your information,. They WILL bill you the MEMBERSHIP FEE NO MATTER WHAT! I tried to cancel after the first week. Received emails trying to retain me. This company only makes money off memberships. Filing a complaint
This site is like if Fresh Market were a warehouse club that delivers. Pricey. Yet tempting, maybe, if you're not close to anything like that.
It offers a tempting "free trial," as well. Sign up and get a super deal (mine was organic almond butter for $2 delivered). Cancel within three months and no membership fee is charged.
The site doesn't allow one to cancel, however. Instead, the cancel button gets you a message informing you that you will be contacted by customer service within 24 hours.
At which point, I'm annoyed by the unnecessary complication and a bit weary of the questionable business ethics implied by it.
Turns out, I had good reason to be. The message from "Darbrielle (Member Services)" was the pitch for reduced services at a reduced rate that I was expecting at this point, so I politely thanked her, declined, and asked to be "immediately" canceled.
Astonishingly, that still did not happen. Instead, I received a second email reiterating the previous offer, or otherwise demanding what is, by now, my *third* cancellation request.
It took me a couple of days to draft a response which did not include profanity. The terse reply finally relented, adding that, "If you do decide to shop with us again, please note that the nonrefundable membership fee will be charged the day after you place your order." Yeah. That's not gonna happen.
I can't even imagine what hoops these folks might have in store for someone with billing or delivery mistakes, but I urge you to never find out.
They off a free item with only shipping then after you order they charge your credit card for 59.95 for a membership no where that i saw was that said when i ordered. Stay away from this scam company
I purchased a few things from Thrive Market and was very satisfied with my order, but then... BAM! I was suddenly hit with an admission fee of $59. Nowhere did the site, confirmation or my receipt say that I had a "trial" membership, and because of this I will no longer buy anything at Thrive Market. I don't pay admission to shop at ANY store.
I included my P O Box AND physical address as I had no idea how my PAID shipment would be delivered. This method is recognised by every company I do business with including Amazon, Wal-Mart, Chewy.com and a few others. Their disclaimer says they don't ship to P O Boxes. So, what DID they do, instead of using the physical address? They shipped it to the P O Box using the least expensive method which can take up to 10 days to be delivered. The day b4 Thanksgiving at 3 in the afternoon, I had to go out and try to buy the merchandise I didn't receive. My post office did not receive the box until the Saturday following the holiday which I promptly refused. I will not be home for the next t holiday and have no use for the stuff I ordered. Then, they said "we don't give refunds but will make an exception but will have to take out $12.50for the cost of returning the order". Think twice before completing your order online. I not only had to do double the work for the holiday meal, but complied w with their requirements and still got charged for it. Buyer beware.
I have only been a member of ThriveMarket.com for less than a month, but rarely have I seen a more conscious website. You DO have to purchase a membership after your first free month, but Thrive donates as much money possible to feed the poorest parts of our country. For instance, I was educated on an Indian population (I think Lakota-Sioux) 98% of these people live SO FAR below the poverty line that they can't even get a vehicle to get them out of there for essentials like medicine and food.
My dollars spent and your dollars spent FEED this indigenous population. AND! OMGosh... thy have wonderful food and even better customer service. If you don't live in a place that has a Whole Foods, ThriveMarket.com offers an inexpensive and delicious way to eat organic, raw and super-foods.
It's fantastic, and needs our attention and support.
I love to eat healthy foods and many products are difficult to find at my local grocery store. Thrive Market offers great deals on organic choices and always has quick service with everything packaged well when it arrives. LOVE sourcing my food at ThriveMarket!
I would give a 8 star instead of 5 stars as the products in this site is excellent and everybody can afford to buy organic products. They have genuine organic products and quality is excellent. Bought some products and enjoying it...

Answer: Hi Luana, Thrive Gives is one of the most important aspects of our mission as it allows us to make healthy living easy and affordable for ALL Americans. Thrive distributes the one-for-one memberships in partnership with charitable organizations who service families in need. Weve issued thousands of memberships to low income families, teachers, students, veterans, and first responders and we see no end in sight. We're doing a number of things to make the membership more useful for Thrive Gives recipients. We are launching content and curriculum that will help educate Thrivers who are new to healthy living, which will be specifically targeted towards our Gives membership recipients. We have also merchandised a Staples section on our website to make the product catalog more accessible for our Thrive Gives families. There are many more improvements in progress that we're excited about! How are candidates selected? Our criteria looks at individual and family income as well as profession, including all veterans, teachers, students, and first responders. Our goal is to identify those who would benefit most from the gift of membership and free access to our savings and products. How do you apply? Think you or someone you know might qualify? Applications can be submitted directly on our website or by simply clicking here. Once submitted, please allow us 1-3 business days to reach out with the status of your application. It's been so great to see the warm reception of our social mission! Thanks so much for expressing interest in Thrive Gives. And thanks for choosing Thrive Market.
