Horrible customer service
December 21, 2022

I went to Things Remembered Macomb Mall in Roseville today with my mother around noon. We both placed orders and was told it would be between 4-6 hours and they would call when it was ready. I waited but did not recieve a call. About 7:40 P.M I called the store since I was in the area and asked was both orders for me ready. I was then put on hold and a young lady came back to the phone and repeated the names and told me that the orders were indeed ready. Not even five minutes later I walked into the store to retrieve the orders. The male associate asked me to repeat the names several times which I did. I spotted one order myself and pointed it out to him. He then searched for the other order and could not find it. I asked was everything ok because I had just called and was insured that the order was ready. He said In a hostel tone what more do you want for me I am looking for it. I replied I would like for you to find It please because you all just told me it was here and ready. I then asked how can we rectify the situation because I am about to be late to pick up my daughter. At this point I had been in the store about thirty nine minutes. He said well you just going to have to come back, an if you don't want to do that I don't know what to tell you. I said sir i can not come back. He said well I do not know what else to tell you, he threw my receipt in the air and said he was done talking to me. I said that's fine I still need my refund at this point. He told me that I was F$$$$$$ crazy and that I need to leave. I asked for the manager and asked her if this is how they treat all of there customers. Her reply was you are both grown and I can't tell him what to do. She stated what do you want me to do fire him. I said I did not ask you to fire him I am asking you to ask him to stop talking to me the way he is talking to me. I stated so you are going to continue to let him be rude to me? She walked away from me and continued to help someone else all while he is still talking rudely to me and telling me to get out the store. I then stated i am done with your crazy $#*! get the f$$$ on some where.I asked for Corp number he told me to find It myself. I was not even talking to him I was speaking with someone else at that time. The whole time the nice young lady was trying to assist me with the refund the gentleman was still screaming and hollering at me.Another associate who begin to start my refund. She apologized on behalf of the non caring manager and the beyond rude associate. I still did not get an apology from the other two that caused a scene and embarrassed me in front of other customers. I have never been so embarrassed as a customer in my life.

Holiday shopping disaster!
December 22, 2017

I ordered online 5 items a day after Thanksgiving. These items were intended as Christmas gifts for my loved ones. I received 4 out of my 5 items a week later. I waited two days before calling costumer service. Still no shipment. Then, someone from costumer service called and left a message saying that my item had a error and wanted to speak to me before finalizing the personalization. I called back immediately and the employee I spoke to explained there was no error and my item would come shortly. I waited a couple of days and then decided to get in touch with a costumer service employee because I was worried about my item. They claimed I did not order or pay for this item. After arguing that I have been charged and have the email confirmation of my order, she then explained that my item was cancelled!?!? She then insured me that it was an mistake on their end and that they would refund my card and send it out with two day shipping. I was so happy because I thought my problem was solved. But I was so wrong. Four days later, still did not receive my item. I called yet again and spoke to another employee who would send it out to me in 2 days. A week later and STILL nothing! I called again ( THIS IS FOR THE 4TH TIME). Had to explain the whole story over again and convince them to send me my item because the previous worker did not make a note of it in my file and she too "promised" I would receive my item in 2 days. Here I am, still waiting, almost a whole month later for my item. She "promised" I would receive it Thursday night (yesterday). I had to call again this morning to make sure it was sent out and not cancelled again... for the 4th time. Christmas is in 3 days and I am so worried I am not going to receive my gift. I've never been more stressed out about ordering online in my LIFE! I ORDERED THIS ITEM ON NOVEMBER 25TH & IT IS NOW DECEMBER 22ND! HOLIDAY DISASTER. NEVER ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN!

Something We Will Remember
May 31, 2015

I don't write online reviews because I just don't have the time (I created this account just to post this one).

Today (May 31,2015), while online shopping for teachers' gifts, I did a google search on my tablet for personalized teacher gifts and "Things Remembered" (which turned out to be ironic) came up. It's not a place I shop at (ever) or often think of (more irony) but they listed a nice variety of items for a teacher. I clicked on a gold and silver pen listed for $19.99. When the page came up, the pen was under a category "BOGO Pens." With it a banner ad that read (photo attached) "Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off." I thought great, I needed to get 2 and I knew with the personalization of the pens the price would add up.

I went through the process of personalizing the pens on the website and showed them to my wife and she loved them. We finally had the gifts we needed for next week's school-end (nothing like waiting until the last minute). We selected the local store to be picked up at (Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and were ready to check out when…
Our totals showed no BOGO offer. I went back to the category "BOGO pens" and the banner ad came up again. The ad said "offer will be discounted from your cart" but it wasn't being taken off our cart. So my wife called the "Contact Us" number listed on the website *******438). My wife explained the situation to the agent (I can't say Customer Service because we as the customer didn't seem important) and was told that promotion had ended by the agent. All of this happened within the course of a couple of hours and we were continually able to find the page with "BOGO Pens" and click on the same pen we selected time and time again.

My wife (who is way more polite than I) told her we were on their website now and seeing the offer. The agent said there was nothing she could do because it is not a valid offer. My wife asked to speak to a supervisor and handed the phone to me.
A V. Henderson (could be Vanessa or something like it but she rattled it off so quickly it wasn't clear…. Her email address is *******@thingsremembered.com for reference). I explained to her we saw the promotion today and she reaffirmed that it was not a valid promotion. I told her I was looking at the website as we spoke and she rudely asked (as if she thought I was making it up) to see a screenshot which I told her I would. As we were getting it to her, she started grilling me with questions like "where did you find it? And how did you come across this?" She made me feel like I was some hacker who had put the page on their website just to save $10 on a pen. I explained how I found it and sent her the link.

She put us on hold (classy) and I handed the phone back to my wife because I was getting mad. V. Henderson came back on the phone told her that was not a valid offer and there was nothing she would do. She then asked (like they all are trained to do) "Is there something else I can help you with today?" We told V. Henderson this would be something we wouldn't forget and she wished us a good day…On to the next caller to disappoint.

What great customer service. What happened to honoring what you are advertising? We didn't go looking for a BOGO offer. Their website presented it to us.

FYI – The BOGO Pens offer can still be found on their website. Here is the link for reference: http://m.thingsremembered.com/product/BOGO-Sale/BOGO-Pens-Pencils-Sale/Personalized-Silver-Gold-Ballpoint-Pen/pc/4492/c/0/sc/3459/*******.uts
You will notice the link comes up even now under "BOGO-Sale/BOGO-Pens-Pencils-Sale" on today's date, May 31,2015.

We'll end up going to local engraver (thanks for the idea "Things Remembered") and not some huge East Coast Conglomerate.
Writing this didn't take as much time as we wasted on their website. And thanks to cut and paste…I can get this posted quickly to many feedback websites even as a one man operation. Things remembered and remembered and remembered indeed. PLEASE DO BUSINESS WITH YOU INDEPENDENTLY OWNED LOCAL ENGRAVER. As for "Things Remembered"… remember my story and forget this racket!

You know how these rackets run the ol' bait and switch.
