Better off throwing your money in a river
Even one star is to much for this company

I cannot express how frustrating it is to see money still being taken from my account by this company. Despite their recent attempts to rebrand themselves from offering tech courses to focusing on fitness, the name alone is tainted by their past actions. A few years ago, I was scammed out of a significant amount of money for a course that turned out to be utterly worthless. The materials provided were clearly plagiarized from other websites, with only minor changes to make them appear original. The tutors were practically nonexistent—contrary to their promises of regular check-ins, I never heard from them. To make matters worse, they didn't even inform me when my assigned tutor left, which speaks volumes about their lack of professionalism and poor service.

I am fully aware that the company went into administration, but that does not erase the fact that many people, myself included, were left out of pocket with nothing to show for it. This company is excellent at delivering a convincing sales pitch but utterly fails to deliver on their promises. When I raised concerns, they were dismissive and couldn't have cared less about my issues. The worst part is, I'm still paying off the remainder of the balance for something that will never be of any use to me. Honestly, you could learn more from a few free YouTube videos than from anything they offer.

As you will see, they will likely reply with the same canned response, showing absolutely no concern for anyone's feelings or concerns. Yes, it may be a few years down the line, but the hurt, anger, and frustration this company has left me and many others with will not go away. It's no surprise they went into administration— even a chocolate teapot has more uses than this company. Please, wait for the bog-standard, meaningless response.

My advice? Avoid anything associated with this name at all costs. You're better off throwing your money away than investing it in this company.

Worst experience
January 10, 2023

Worst decision we ever made choosing this company for our studies. If you know everything and need just paper, then maybe that could be an option. You won't learn anything new, if you have no knowled how to do the excersise properly, they won't bother even to fix/teach you. The only thing what they are interested just to take your money. Due to Covid our exams was canceled, then delayed, which took us one year to rebook it. Then the exam online system was changed, no one even bothered to let me know. Then I had to wait my next exam for a month. They give 3 years to finish your studies, but never remind update you on the curent situation, wvwn the exam results is not updated on the system, so they treat ghat you even hadn't taken them. As we had disruption due to covid we were expecting that the end date will be postponed as well. Normal company should be interested that clients finishing their studies, seems that this one is interested just taking your money without providing promissed services. With our diploma we suposed to get extra Boxing, spining etc. Sertificates, no one was bothered about providing anything at all. PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER OPTION STUDYING WITH THEM, AS YOU DO NOT GET KNOWLEDGE, SUPORT, OR ANY INFORMATION. This institution needs to be checked of certain acreditation company for what service they are providing.

Health and beauty level 3
August 1, 2018

Im with the training room currently on the beauty course. I was booked in on a spray tan course for the 1st Aug 18 however my 5 year old daughter is ill with a very bad water infection, so I had to cancel it short notice. I was told by the training room that I would have to pay another £50 to rebook and it was in the terms and conditions about late cancellations the lady also informed me it can't be changed. I feel this is riduclas I didn't know my child was going to be ill yet I am been penalised for it. The training room say it's because of the cost to them. I'd like to see the breakdown of the cost.

My other course is going well, however I work full time I have 3 children and attend the course on a Monday 9am - 7.30pm and Tues 9am - 5.30pm. You get told you have to attend 100% every session which is fine but the amount of work is unbelievable. I find it hard to juggle everything and the level 3 part of the course is so rushed.

When I rang about this course in Feb 2018 I paid my deposit for myself and my eldest daughter who attends the course. For 2 weeks after they rang everyday to see when I would be paying the remainder of the balance which was £4995 for us both. This was uncalled for as I told the lady when I would pay the remainder balance. I put a complaint in about their hard selling tactics. Apparently i made their customer service advisor cry and she had never had this before. I was also info4med that it was the computer system telling them to ring me on a daily basis! They rectified this by giving me and my daughter their "premium beauty package".

The course started on the 11 June18 in Manchester when at the course and speaking with the other students (11 of us in total) we found out we all had paid a different amount of money, most had only paid £1995 For the same course and some of the girls had recieved the loan for this for the same cost. This seems unfair, prices should be the same accross the board specially as we are all in the same place at the same time with the same tutor. Our tutor has had 2 annual leave holidays within our 12 week course which has caused a little friction as her teaching and the other tutors teaching are totally different. We also have a Turkish lady on the course who is really struggling. She was promised an interperator but still has not been given one. She was in tears this week for fear of failing the course due to not having the correct support. This is really bad practice.

We have still heard nothing from the careers team apart from an email saying who our careers advisor is and if we need her then to contact her ourselves. This is not what promised on the phone when booking the course.

We are nearly at the end of our course I have so much work to complete within a week and a half otherwise I will not be allowed yo take my exam. This course is extremely fast paced and heaven forbid your children get sick and you can't attend.

All in all training with the training room will leave you feeling stressed out of pocket and at a loss as what to do. The head office just state it's in the terms and conditions about missed sessions and payment fees they have no leway for unforseen circumstances, they just want your money.

April 20, 2018

I think enough is enough. I have set up a website thetrainingroomreviews.com and we are interested to hear from people who have been scammed by The Training Room. The more people come forward the better chances we have as a group to hire lawyers and initiate a Group Action Lawsuit against these scammers. If you have lost your hard-earned money to this loan shark then do not hesitate to contact us through the contact form on the website.

RIP OFF Security Technologist course!
March 10, 2018

Short story:
£3300 out of pocket, completed all self-study material super quick, got the certs, but no job like advert advertised, constant "no jobs available" or "partners not doing recruitment drive atm" replies from their career support.

** Please understand this is my experience/review of the Security Technologist course in IT section. I can't comment on their other courses. **

Long story:
Saw an ad on indeed.co.uk regarding becoming a trainee cyber security analyst, which said job is dependent upon the successful completion of their training. I found the exact same advert in different cities as well. So I ended up on TTR website and gave them my contact details as I was interested in knowing more especially how much the course was as there is no pricing at all. I only knew afterwards why they don't put pricing because it's so high (£3250 (course) +£50 (registration)).

An "assessor" called me soon after asking why I was interested in the course to see if I would be suitable. But it was actually to make it seem that the course was filling up and selective on candidates, which is completely not true. "Assessors" are actually sales people if they get you to pay for course they get commission. My assessor gave me a lot of statistics and info about cyber security jobs and how much they pay especially with the certs they are training you for. At that point he told me the price of the course £3250. I was hesitant due to price but the assessor kept giving me "facts" about jobs I could get into and why I would waste this chance. He even said if price was a problem, I could take out a loan through them. I thought that's good since I won't have to pay a lump sum, but I then found out the interest rates were absolutely insane and charged daily.
**NOTE: DO NOT ever take out a loan through them! So the sweet talk continued.

In the end, I was a sucker and I bought into all that sweet talk as I was desperate for a job. I paid fully and even paid another £50 for registration fees (although it was supposed to be £100 but my assessor gave me a "special deal"), and the assessor sent me more course info, with someone else sending me the course login info. I logged in to the course material and later found out that TTR uses their own site as a portal to use UCertify.com courseware. I went on UCertify's site to see how much the courses were, only to find they were actually considerably cheaper than what TTR charged. I tried to get a refund, but they hit back with their Terms and Conditions, pointing out "which I agreed to", saying because I accessed their online material I could no longer get any refund.
**NOTE: DO NOT access their online material within cool-off period (14 days) for full refund claim.
**NOTE: Read ToC.
**NOTE: Skip TTR the middleman, and go straight to the learning provider for the same but much cheaper courses.

I was annoyed, but if passing the training could get me a job then whatever. Through the course I was assigned a mentor and supposed to get regular contact. But I never had a single email or phone call from him. The course material from UCertify was actually good and helped me to pass the certification exams. I passed everything in 4 months and completed my "training". Got in contact with career support, and they asked me to update my CV so they could give to their partners. I thought they would be able to find me a position very soon as the advert said "job on successful completion of training". I heard nothing back after 2 weeks and got in touch to be told their partners are not doing recruitment drives at the moment, and then he said he will keep circulating my CV to the partners and contact me when something comes up. Needless to say I have not heard back and today marks roughly 5 months since my last correspondence with career support.
**NOTE: TTR is a middleman company, charging sky-high fees for their IT courses that they did not create.
**NOTE: TTR most likely won't be able to get you a job after the IT training.

Thankfully I have moved on to better things through my own diligence, but I write this review as a warning to others!

Tip for consumers:

- DO NOT access/logon their e-learning material no matter how much they tell you to access it if you have 2nd thoughts after paying. Their T&C says you have 14 days from payment to request full refund as long as you DO NOT access their online material.
- TTR uses a third party learning provider to supply the courses. TTR is middleman, so just go straight to provider (UCertify), as it's much cheaper for courses.
- TTR will NOT pay for exam resits if you fail 1st time!
