Fraudsters!

Cant believe this site is still in operation. They took my order approx 18 months ago and as with everyone else delivered nothing. Impossible to contact them but they were very efficient at putting my cash into their account (£87). Eventually got a refund from PayPal.

Stringbusters
October 21, 2018

Ordered 2 sets of strings end of September. Nothing has arrived 21/10/18. Usually takes a few days. Have used these people for years. Just a total void - no calls, no email responses. Site still up taking peoples cash. Frauds? Keep away and spread the word.My credit card people are onto them. There should be a way of taking this sort of site down forcefully.

I have used String Busters many times over many years to purchase guitar string. My last order was placed on 4th July and despite numerous emails and phone calls I still haven't received my strings. They refuse to answer either emails or phone calls. I asked via email for a refund but again have had no response. I have now raise a dispute with my bank to claim my money back. Do not use this company String Busters are fraudsters

Used this company lots in the past and thought them excellent but not for a year or two.

Recently I tried to order a pack of elixir strings. Added to basket. Then noticed they have the special 3 for 2 packs back in stock. Tried to add but not really in stock.
Because of finger trouble I accidentally completed the order through paypal instead of cancelling it so immediately emailed/rang Stringbusters to cancel. After many attempts I have failed to get hold of them. Useless.

After years of buying strings from them. Like everyone else here. This year Stringbusters have ripped me off. Took my money (£35) but no strings have arrived. And no response to phone calls or emails. OH DEAR!. Somewhere that was so good has now become somewhere that is so bad so be warned and stay away from Stringbusters because they will sting you. Not restring you... and you don't have to look too far (ebay for example) to find cheaper strings these days...

I'm still waiting

I, as many others have detailed, I used this company for years but will not use them again. I have placed two orders recently for acoustic guitar strings totalling £94.00 and have not received anything despite several phone calls (which weren't answered) and emails(ditto). Received order confirmation and money deducted from my credit card but no goods. Avoid like the plague!

Been using Stringbusters for years as they provided a good service at good prices. Not any more. They take your money and don't send the items out. They will not answer the phone and never reply to email. Do not order from them

Avoid Stringbusters
October 28, 2018

Do not trust Stringbusters.
After using them for years I ordered £30 worth of strings 2 months ago and have heard nothing. This is despite repeated calls and e-mails. No strings, no refund, no replies.
It's a shame - they used to be good, but - AVOID THEM NOW!

April 25, 2018

After several emails in which I stated my concerns over a purchase my goods finally arrived. To be fair I was also sent a lengthy apology. I sensed that things were not going well but that someone was trying to work things out. Quality of goods eventually received were excellent.

Item not dispatched

I count myself lucky, as I have only lost the cost of one set of strings. I placed an order in February. Everything arrived except for one set of strings, which is still outstanding. As previous reviewers have said, I have had no response from the company when I have tried to email and phone them. I will never use them again.

As per most of the previous reviews, I used to buy strings with no problem. However, on June 2nd, 2018, I ordered more. It was acknowledged by the company, they took my money but have not delivered my strings. Shows as "order being processed" on their website. Telephone number just rings, and rings, and rings... can't leave a voicemail. Sent them 3 e mails, no reply. Will be reporting them to Trading Standards.

I have been a customer of Stringbusters for many years and always found they provided an excellent service, Not anymore!
Over one month ago I ordered several items. Some arrived promptly, but one item, a 10 pack of strings worth £52 wasn't included, only a note to say they would follow. These strings were advertised as IN STOCK.
Over one month later, and after various excuses from them, I emailed them, as they were not answering phone calls, to ask for a refund, as I had bought the same strings elsewhere.
They now don't even answer my emails and I have had to open a case with PAYPAL to try to get the £52 back that they took from me.
I will never try to buy anything from them ever again. They have lost my trust completely. I WANT MY £52 BACK!

Are you still there!

2 messages left on answerphone... no-one ever picks up. 6 emails with no reply and still awaiting strings ordered in Oct and December 2016. Payment always taken at time of order. Used Stringbusters for a long time without any problems... a return phone call or e-mail can't be that hard. Think I have lost my money!

I've been using Stringbusters for over 10 years and they've always been brilliant, but now they've been incommunicado about the bass strings I ordered 10 days ago. Still says "awaiting dispatch" on the site, no answer to any of the email addresses I've used (sales@, admin@, buster@), left 2 phone messages but no response. I've now contacted the Citizens' Advice Bureau and followed their instructions to take the matter further.

Similar happened in July when they didn't get back to me but I let it drop as it turned out they never charged my credit card so I just went and bought the strings elsewhere. This time, though, I'm out £34. A real shame this company isn't up to snuff any more as I've been a loyal customer a long time. An apology would go a long way, but I'll certainly never use them again.

I would suggest everyone stays well clear.

Appalling

Seems stringbusters are in new hands, a cursory glance at their accounts would suggest financial problems. The web is littered with complaints and tales of woe with orders unfulfilled after months of ordering. I will hazard a guess and suggest they hold very little stock and order when enough payments have been processed to fund ordering. Liquidation will be the next step. I strongly advise against using them. Too late for me.

Stringbusters.com showed bass strings as "in stock" on their website when, after a two week wait it was admitted that the item was not in stock, and not likely to be due to production problems in the States! Foolishly I agreed to a change of order, same make, different type which were stated yet again to be in stock. This second failed to materialize.Not surprisingly, my credit card had been debited on the day of the first order. I contacted the Council Trading Standards in Devon and was advised how to word an email, and guess what? The money was refunded in 20 mins!
Under "about us" on Stringbusters website they refer to their own experience as musicians of frustrations caused through poor service, lousy stock control and broken promises which they state their company will put right. In my experience Stringbusters failed on all three counts.

Stay well clear!

I wish I'd seen these reviews before I placed my order but I had used them years ago and they were really good. Not now though and looks like it is worse than just bad service. Now it seems to be more like fraud. I ordered stuff to the value of £37 which never came. They have ignored my emails and never answer the phone. Stay well clear!

I had a similar problem to others buyers - I never received the purchase. Luckily I paid by PayPal and they are refunding my money.
I'm glad I didn't give String Busters my debit card details.
