“Beware”

BEWARE! Photo of where I broke down at included. But let's start from the beginning. So I bought a daily driver jeep, and got about 300 miles before having to get it towed. Just my experience. Sales guy I guess had personal issues so was unavailable and no one else thought to sell me a vehicle. Instead I waited, and had to call and call. Then I fly up to get the vehicle, giving this company my eta and everything to make this as smooth as possible, and it was not ready to go. When it came to putting the temp tag on, they said they didn't have screws. (They did, it was fixed after he and I went to go find screws) but that's the effort put into this by Daniel my sales associate. Like the bare minimum. He knew my intentions were to drive this vehicle to Texas. And. I guess I expected too much. I won't buy here again, or street side classics again. I do not recommend.

After speaking at length with their consignment manager I decided to consign the cars for sale at their Nashville, TN location for the 90 days required in their contract. I let their consignment manager arrive at the asking price and agreed to the "Net Value" I would get if the cars sold. The minimum take for them is $2,000 for cars less than $20,000 and 12.5% for cars priced greater than $20,000. They priced my cars at 33% and 36% above the agreed upon net. One caveat you need to consider is that anything they "take" over net is theirs... period. I was reluctant to such high prices but was assured they were confident the cars would sell. They assured me that they were the industry experts, that they were more knowledgeable and capable than the competition and that my cars were in "... outstanding condition..." and "... best we have in our showroom for these years..." and they would sell. I called them a couple of times over the next 90 days and expressed concerns that they were only a short time away from contract expiry and they had only lowered the price $1,000. They told me at that time responses to the cars were "exciting" and be assured we were close to selling. In the end they never lowered the price any more so we were still over 30% commission rates, which is the reason the cars did not sell. They refused to come down any more, and never asked me to even negotiate a strategy with them. In my opinion my agreed upon net was a little optimistic on one of the cars and much lower than they expected on the other. Remember, they told me what the cars were worth, I followed their lead. I told them about a month into the contract I would be flexible if they would and that I wanted to sell these cars, not store them for 90 days. When I called to give them notice I would not renew as required by the contract and that I intended to be reclaiming my cars I was told there was no interest in the cars anyway, they were priced way too high and not worth that kind of money and I could come get them anytime. I feel like they were not honest and made promises to just secure a listing. In the end I wasted my time and my collector cars were out of my custody for 90 days, a risky move I will not repeat.
