The way the vastness of space is laid out in good graphic quality display struck an interest enough to play it. Thinking it may be like other space games that are never ending like Eve Online. Instead it's more like limited repetitive duration of World Warfare. Only World Warfare battles go progressively smoother. Around the time I started playing it, someone said on chat, that Starborne has been in Beta mode for a long time. Even as the game starts you out on some learning tutorial of the basics, you're left on your own in creating buildings & space ships, under near 3 day protection. You are forewarned that it's a team game and solo players will have a difficult time competing for victory. Not so good thing about this game is it keeps you busy doing assortment of things repeatedly as if taking care of a virtual pet. Engaging in space battles against other rivaling sectors or expanding neighbor's bases don't happen until around the last part of the game. What's disappointing is when you find that leading players are the one who actually gets to do the most in engaging space battles and receive honor medals only cause they invest money into the game and not cause of any experience. There are some hidden things in the game that you simply don't learn on your own. Troop Carrier is rarely to never used, probably cause of the outrageous cost to build one. NPC Marauder bases can't be captured except maybe totally destroyed. Too much sophistication was put in attacking rivaling bases with a fleet of ships, enough to discourage as unfair. Ending up looking like all you put out didn't or barely made a scratch. Ineffective things about the game is you can not intercept incoming fleet attacks and stargate doesn't do instant jumps but rather stalls. The map of different sectors have become worse. Length of game play can be any where from a week to more. You have to be someone who'd have lots of patience to like playing this game. Which makes it look like a snails pace game. Interesting but not enjoyably fun to play. I would not recommend this game to anyone right now.

Additionally, even if you join some group, alliance or guild there's always a chance a good number of players (including leader) will abandon game for another server. It's not really fair play to end up this way. Creators of starborne should have npc's replace missing players, since they don't lock players in game until it's over.
