Satisfactory experience at an all inclusive in Costa Rica. Booked my second trip at a Cancun resort for me and my 2 daughters. Couldn't book under my name as I am 70yrs old. Ridiculous, if considering a timeshare it would be to pass on to my children and grandchildren. So I bookef under my 39 yr old daughter but resort would not confirm reservation because she is Deaf and wouldn't fully understand the presentation (lucky her). Said this is in their rules (uh huh). Can't believe a US company can get away with this under ADA, but the resort is in Mexico so... I could have reserved under my other daughter but after this descriminatory policy I decided to forfeit the vacay and save all of those extra fees.
I paid $660 for 2 6day-5nt vacations, valid to use within 3 years, transferable, and of course you have to listen to 90-minute timeshare spiel. Now when trying to book, the website is ALWAYS out of date. You have to call to find out what's available. Then, to book, you pay SpecialVIPOffers or click deals a booking fee of $149, then you have to pay your 'resort destination' a resort fee of around $25/night AND 10-15% taxes on what the room rate is so around another $115-$170. All in all, another total of $400-$450.
They are wearing me out with all the fast talk and nothing available.
This company is a total and utter scam. I booked a program with them, then when I tired to make a reservation, they notified me the week before I was supposed to travel that it was 'unavailable.'
After 20 unreturned calls to 'customer service' and many emails. I had to cancel my credit card for fraud.
THIS IS A SCAM!
To be honest... I don't remember how we got involved with SpecialVIPOffers but somehow we ended up paying $425 total for one 6 day/5night and one 5 day/4night vacation over the next 24 months. Vacations outside the US were all inclusive with our only cost being transportation. Due to our own scheduling we called them and requested a trip two weeks later, 10 days before thanksgiving. They said that the Sunset Marina in Cancun was the only thing available at that time. I cant say if this was bait and switch or simply our lack of flexibility. That said, everything was provided as promised. The only thing we had to pay for was our return transfer to the airport at the end of the week and this was arranged through the hotel for $17us per person. We had to sit through a 2 hour (became 3) time share presentation but we knew that up front. Hotel was first rate, spacious, Jacuzzi in the room, mini kitchen and a gorgeous bathroom. Good local food and drinks(somewhat dilute) were available all day. Some water activities were curtailed because of windy conditions but we got to kayak (included) and jetski (reasonably priced). Have no complaints. Will see what happens with the second part of our package.
A useful website for travel budgeting and cost information for many cities across the world is specialvipoffers.com. It has some pretty crisp and to the point travel guides and booking tools. I stay 'Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort and Spa' in Los Cabos, Mexico. Rooms, location, breakfast, service everything was great. I would not hesitate in recommending this place to my other colleagues.
Thanks for a great idea of specialvipoffers.com. Sandos Cancun Luxury Experience Resort [Cancun] is a charming place to stay when visiting Rome. My wife and I liked the size of our bedroom and en suite bathroom. The location is perfect and the street is not too noisy. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very happy with our 2 night stay.
Answer: Wow this is a very unreputable company. If you ever get through to anyone it is Anna and she is a double talking scam artist. Avoid this scam or suffer the consequences!
