Absolute garbage. Their customer service team is terrible. I clicked on their site to read one article and had to sign up for a free trial, which I cancelled before the billing date! I reached out requesting a refund for the error and they were very condescending, sent screenshots of the receipt, and refused to refund me for the $197 annual subscription that they auto-billed me for after the free trial. Watch out!

Tip for consumers:
Do not sign up for the free trial. Even if you cancel, they will not refund you your money. They will charge you $197 or whatever the annual fee is at the time.
Scam website. Once they get your credit card you are sunk. I am reporting to consumer watchdogs. They have misleading info about a "free trial" that ends up costing hundreds!
Tip for consumers:
I wish I had known is was a scam website!

None! I cancelled but was still charged for a whole year!!!
They just want your money and don't care at all if you used or are even satisfied with their service. Their free trial requires a credit card, then auto charges after 5 days. Then again 365 days later. I have now paid $400 to this company without wanting to pay any and they are fully unwilling to entertain a refund.
How Shortform use their "system" tactic to scam your money
At first, I get to know this website from a YouTuber Ali Abdaal. The user experience is pretty good. So I started my monthly subscription. After 15 days, I misclick to an annual subscription, but I change it back to monthly instantly. This company STOPs my account and automatically charges a fee of up to 180 USD after 3 days! When I email them to ask to reactive my account, they claim is some system error and suggest I pay the annual fee. They won't let me continue my monthly payment! Their customer service is extremely slow, you can basically get 1 reply per day
As per many post below have written, you will notice that same trend in which this company scams people out of their money through trials. I am warning you or whoever reading this: do not sign up for anything. Just don't bother about this app.
Tip for consumers:
a scam company

nothing
Beware of the free trial offers. Have had the same exact experience as all the others who have left reviews so I wont expand on that except to say that it is unfortunate that Shortform is compromising their reputation for $. Its a shame. Buyer beware. Stay far far away...
Any decent company with a business model based on customers succeeding with the product would provide a refund if the auto renew was a mistake. Instead we get an incredibly long "we told you so" email.
This is a really shady company. I did the 7-day trial and then canceled on day 3. Further, it makes you choose monthly or annual when starting the trial. I chose Monthly. 7 days later, I get a charge for $179 dollars. When I emailed them, they said that they could only refund me half, despite the fact that I not only canceled, but I had selected to be monthly, if I didn't. I even have screengrabs where it said to upgrade to annual in another button on my account. I finally had to dispute with my credit card company. I think this company has struggled and is now resorting to desperate, shady business tactics to stay afloat. Use something like Blinkist instead, and avoid the headaches that I have experienced.
Even though Shortform's product is of a decent quality, it is severely undermined by its poor billing system and customer service. I was a willing paying customer (not someone who "forgot" to cancel his free trial) but this experience made me cancel my subscription. Except that their billing system and customer service refuse to let me do so. Details below.
I had a monthly subscription and paid US$24 per month. I received an email on December 1 from Shortform informing me that it could not deduct my monthly payment for December and that I should update my card details on the website. When I tried to do so on December 1, the webpage with my account details froze (and is still frozen, displaying my card details). I toggled between the monthly billing button and the annual billing button to try to unfreeze the webpage, to no avail. Thereafter, I received five more emails (dated December 5, 8, 11, 16 and 18) from Shortform informing me that it could not deduct my payment. The webpage with my account details was still frozen, so I cancelled my subscription. I got an acknowledgement on the webpage that my subscription was cancelled effective Jan 2,2023. I just noticed from my bank statement that Shortform billed me US$173 on December 4, despite all the above emails sent to me **after that date** stating that it could not charge my card. Shortform's customer service refused to reverse the charges, and after charging me an annual fee, deducted credits based on a monthly fee, which is much higher per month! They never acknowledged that their system sent erroneous billing emails or that I cancelled my subscription despite me sending them screenshots thereof. They have still not told me how to unfreeze the web page, so their system still has my card details on file and can deduct amounts therefrom, without my being able to stop it.
This company took my credit card information and used it incorrectly. They refused to return my charge and canceled the service. They stole my money and I don't even get to use their app which was not very useful anyway.
Tip for consumers:
Don't sign up for this app. It is not secure and they will overcharge you.
