It use to be ok. I don't know what happened but it doesn't work. The scanner functions intermittently. There are also so many software bugs, they've lost my cart so many times now that I've given up selling with them. It's too frustrating.
I have shipped many books to this company and was always impressed with the turn around time and the price they paid for my used books. The process is easy, the website is super use friendly, I just type in the ISBN number of all the books I am shipping to them, print the packing slip and free shipping label and off they go. I usually get the money in less than a week via Paypal or by check. The customer service is prompt in answering questions if I have any. I've checked other prices online and this company gave me the most dollars for my books and music CDs. Totally reliable folks!
They didn't accept my book. Which I used for 3 months. I did not write in it. All the pages were in tact. The very corners of the paperback cover were slightly folded. It was over $300. They offered $40. Now if I want it back I have to pay shipping. They should have made their policy more clear and visible. I'm surprised. Disappointed.
Tried to sell books and the app has multiple frustrating errors: 1. Yields inconsistent pricing of books, 2. Does not accept books after 5 scanned, 3.yields such low appraisal values that it is impossible to get to the $7.50 minimum. What a waste of time. Just delete the app, block their emails and donate to your public library.
Sellbackyourbook.com/EZ Book Recycle Inc. is a fraudulent company.
I sold four of my law school textbooks to Sellbackyourbook.com, that is also listed as EZ Book Recycle Inc on Better Business Bureau. They quoted me $120 for one of my textbooks. This book was in good condition, no tears, minimal highlighting etc. I received an email stating that it will be marked as liquidated damage and I would get $0 for it. I have used this company in the past with no issues. The email surprised me, as it was in good condition so there should be no issue, but nevertheless, I requested the book to be returned to me if they were not going to pay me anything for it. They refused. You can buy this book, used, on Amazon for $200+. I know they are going to sell it and not "recycle" it. They are thieves!
Please beware and stay away from this company!
They do not pay. Do not use them. They advised that I would have payment over a week ago and have not received nothing. Then they said there payment system was messed up and it would be two days. It's been five and still nothing. Now they ignore my emails and you can't get a hold of them by phone. Do not use their service you will not get paid
I gave one star because the site was the only one that didn't say they don't accept writing and highlighting. Other than that I would never use this company again. I mailed them my book that was in barely used condition the only thing wrong with it is that it had highlighting and marks toward the front pages of the book. Other than that nothing was wrong with it. It's retails for almost $90 and is sold used for over $50. I received a message today that stated We will recycle the following items because we can not accept.
"We will recycle the following items because we can not accept.
ISBN: ************** was Rough and price set to 0."
I have no way of knowing that they aren't just keeping and selling my book. I asked for it to be returned to sender. I used this book for one college class and it was barely used and had highlights/marks on some of the pages. This company wasted my time and as of right now I feel I have been scammed because I have no book and no money.
This company is deliberately informing customers that their books have mold so they won't return them, allowing the company to resell the books without compensating the customer. Customers are never provided with photographic evidence—untruthful behavior! Do not sell books to this company. They are scamming everyone. Sell books only in person.
I recieved a great price for my textbook that was in excellent condition. When I mailed the book the company told me they were recycling my book and that I was recieving nothing for it. They refuse to mail my textbook back to me. I understand not paying out for a textbook, but you should at least return it to the owner. It is insane to me that they are "recycling" my 300 dollar textbook. This company is a huge waste of time and I would say in my particular scenario it was a scam.
Horrible book selling experience. I input my books ISBN to get a quote. After receiving the quote, I shipped them the book using their shipping label. Once they received the book, I got an email stating it was the wrong isbn and that my book wouldn't be returned and would be recycled. What?!? How in the world could it be the wrong ISBN, when I copied it directly from the book itself and the title to the book autopopulated in their system as exactly what the title was on the cover. I'm baffled. And now they refuse to return the book so I can sell it to another company. I reached out to them to ask why they are stating it's the wrong ISBN number and I received an email back from them stating "it was probably based on the condition of the book." I bought the book brand new and it was used one time. It was in mint condition, no tears, no highlighting and no marks at all. The company can't even tell me the reason my book was rejected.
I recently sold back textbook, used their shipping label, and followed all instructions. A couple weeks later, I got an email that the package they received was empty. I gave them a copy of the tracking # and the form that showed everywhere the package was shipped to before arriving at the final destination, weighing the same amount it weighed when it started on its journey. Obviously, the messed up and somehow lost the books. They never took responsibility for it or apologized just continued on a week long email chain telling me it was my fault. This company is sketchy, I will never use them again!
I scanned about 50 books and keep getting a message "we are not buying this book at this time". Finally I got one, then another and finally after about 150 books I collected 20 to send. Pressed "finish" and got an error message, needed to log in again, but my cart was empty, so needed to scan them one more time. Easy to print the label, dropped off at Fed Ex. After few days got paid $8.49. So I calculated almost 3 hr to do the process. I think I will pass (>$3 per hours!). I will drop about 300 books I have to Salvation Army or Library, I have better things to do, just not worth it for me.
You will barely get back enough to cover the cost of your packing tape. A lot of work for nothing! I sent in 10 books and was told I would get almost $50 for them and got $6. Not worth it!
I search for an author's name that I know personally and found a fake book with her name and 372 reviews! You can't click on the reviews to read about this book. If you go down lower and click on 'other editions' then you get to a new page with 0 reviews. This is a total fraud and this site is sketchy.

And these scam artists hundreds of dollars in law books. Some not even used. They never received my package and FedEX has no record of the apparent bogus tracking label. These ppl are a scam!
Save yourself and use another app or website. This company is a joke! They start off by giving you the impression of good exceptions, then totally low-ball you when you actually go to sell. The world would be a better place if there weren't scam companies like this. They have no ethics when to comes to their customers!
Plus, they tell me they can't link my PayPal because it is not "verified"... which is very very very odd and suspect since I literally just used my PayPal to make a purchase this morning, and my PayPal account has been in good standing for over 10 years. Save yourself the aggravation and sell you books to a legit company!
Lastly, you can totally tell they are not legit due to the fact that on their website they boast a 4.5 star rating - but if you look ANYWHERE online else they only get a rating of 1.5 - 2 stars. I guess honesty and integrity are not a part of their business culture.
I just received a book in the worst condition that I have ever seen. It's completely warped, had the former student's post it notes sticking out of (WTF?) and look like it was dropped in a puddle and then run over by a car. It's embarrassing that a company would even send out a product like this.
I've sold books to this company for a few years, and have always been satisfied. They pay what they quote and my check arrived in a timely manner. A few times, one of my books didn't meet their standards,(understandably so) and they offered to send it back. It's the best.
Sent them an Organic Chemistry binder over 300 pages. No dog-eared pages, no writing, all pages intact. It was in good to excellent condition. Wish I had taken pictures. Original cost was $181. They offered under $19. After I shipped it I received an email that said the book, in there estimate, was in "rough condition." NOT TRUE. A biology binder was thrown away because it was not in perfect condition. But, Organic Chemistry was. They wanted $3.99 to return the binder or they would recycle it. I think they probably sold it for a goodly amount. Scammers, in my opinion. Learned that lesson. Never again
Unfortunately I was baited and then ripped off by "sellbackyourbook" aka "ziffit". When I first sold to them I sent them four books for their quoted price of $112. The transaction went smoothly and I was paid promptly with no problems at all. Because this went so smoothly I decided to send them more books the next go around. This time I sent 8 books total in two separate boxes. This is when they ripped the rug from under me. They ended up only paying me for 3 of 8 books. Claiming 5 of them were in such bad condition they could not offer me anything. These books however were in great condition much like the first box of books I sent them and they accepted with no problem. They went from them paying me the quoted price of about $160 to only paying $60 bucks. They also state their policy is to not return your books to you but they will "recycle" them to a third party. So you loose profit and they still gain from your loss. Luckily I hadn't sent off any of my other books to them yet or any high values books. Learn from my mistake and avoid doing business with this company if you can. I was able to find other companies to sell to, and I haven't had any issues since.
Answer: I just received a book from them that was a total piece of shit. Don't buy from them.
Answer: I and many others hate these people. They prey on desperate college students who are trying to sell books they don't need and then make you pay to get the book back if they reject it (and they definitely will for no reason). I haven't heard one success story and they will steal your book because you can't afford to pay them to send it back.
