This site actually used to be reasonable but it has deteriorated to complete trash. There appears to be zero review of the articles published and the writers, in general, don't have the knowledge of finance that even a first year finance student should have. Wrong assumptions, ignorance of generally accepted models and methods, and incorrect mathematics abound. Then when you point out their errors they either argue or get downright nasty even if you direct them to any of a number of commonly used textbooks which they obviously have no desire to read. Get your investment advice from your barber instead.
Seeking Alpha seems to have some awesome features. However at this point, I'm not hands-on enough to really use anything beyond the portfolio tracker for my research. I was happy to use the pro version and could see the use for someone more hands-on. Unfortunately, I missed the renewal email and ended up paying after the trial. I reached out and Nithya was very kind and allowed a refund.
I would definitely recommend them if you're wanting to really cut your teeth on investing and want to manage it directly. For simple guys like me, it's a bit overkill.
Thanks for your valuable feedback, Jacob!

Site lets absolutely anyone publish "investment advice" anonymously, as a result most articles are secretly written by stock promoters or short sellers looking to make a buck off of stock price manipulation. Premium service is also a scam, editors are only capable of selecting articles based on length due to their lack of financial knowledge and overall intelligence
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your note and we apologize for it took us this long to reach back.

You are in real trouble if your investment info comes from this garbage! The writers seem to take quotes or information out of context and make it seem like it's true. This is the worst kind of site because they do no actual investigating... they just take stories from other sites and alter them to fit their personal agendas. Stay away!
Hi Dave,
Thank you for your note, and apologies for it took us this long to reach back to you.
We strive to ensure all our articles are factually correct but we do not keep any biases towards anybody's opinion. Authors are allowed to publish bullish/bearish articles on stocks that are long/short (respectively), providing they disclose their bias. Active investors with "skin in the game" often have some of the most articulate opinions on a stock, and we encourage them to publish their opinions on Seeking Alpha.
If you find a Seeking Alpha article containing a material factual inaccuracy, you can dispute it using the following steps:
Submit a dispute by emailing disputes@seekingalpha.com. Please be sure to include a link to the article under dispute in addition to the above information.
Identify precisely which section of the article you dispute (quoting the text), and provide supporting evidence of your claim that the article is materially wrong.
(Please do not use the dispute process to disagree with the author. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion about a stock; that's what makes a market.)
In any case, please always feel free to write to us at subscriptions@seekingalpha.com

I have been a Premium level member of Seeking Alpha since 1/22/21. Since that time I have enjoyed many of the articles on various financial topics written by knowledgeable financial experts. Best of all, a reader often gets a diversity of opinions so that an informed decision can be made on whether to buy a particular stock, stay with a particular investment or invest in a different market category. A reader can get the latest financial news everyday and also educate themselves by reading the educational articles provided. It's also nice to know that a very helpful customer service representative can assist you if needed as was recently the case for me. To me, Seeking Alpha is a very worthwhile financial information service and I highly recommend it.
Had problems receiving my subscription issues and updates from Seeking Alpha, but support was always able to resolve any problems within 24 hours. I finally switched my email provider as suggested, and the problem appears to have been permanently resolved.
Thanks for your wonderful feedback, Michael!

SA used to be much better but now the comments are highly censored and not posted in real time so unless your posts agree with the moderators reading it, they are simply deleted.
Pathetic at best and anything that isn't pro investing or positive is deleted most days.
Obama trashing is fine, but nothing negative about Trump period.
Even if you have proof that the economy or the middle class is losing ground, it simply will not be posted.
I found something better and you should too.

0 stars all the way. The problem with seeking alpha is that it lacks credibility. The articles written by seeking alpha partners are highly opinion based and to be frank. Garbage. Don't listen to advice ever from this company. Not only are the articles bad. They are painfully dishonest and seeking aloha is most likely receiving money from businesses behaving in fraudulent malpractice behaviour. Look elsewhere advice for your stocks. Apes will never lose!

All subscriptions renew automatically. They do not notify you at renewal, they just charge your credit card.
When you complain, they say "We never issue refunds."
They Better Business Bureau has hundreds of complaints about this, almost all unresolved. Management is in Israel.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review, Fred.
Yes, All our subscriptions are set on auto-renewal (unless canceled) by default and it is stated in the landing pages of the services as well.
To stop the auto-renewal, all you need to do is cancel the subscription before the renewal due date. You can easily manage your subscription (including canceling) from the “Subscription settings” page.
Canceling your subscription will not take away your access to the service. You will still be able to use the service until the expiry date.
I hope this helps clarify. If you have any further questions, feel free to write to subscriptions@seekingalpha.com

Seeking Alpha is a great investment research website. Easy to use - very intuitive. Lots of information both pro and con on all kinds of investments. It helps you make money and save money. What more can you ask for?
I enjoy reading the diverse opinions on this site and it has brought to my attention some equities that I ultimately purchased and am still currently very happy with.
You have to make your own judgements but I really like the wealth of information available to me.

I have used both the free and the fee services of SA. I believe it is very much worth the $'s and the time spent in reading the articles. Not all of them will apply to your investment plan. But even the one's that don't, give you a perspective on other investment opportunities. As an investor who's goal is dividend yield and growth, I have the opportunity to read those authors' that will provide me with good information. Readers' comments are also useful for new ideas and as a check on an author's support of an investment.

At first I was annoyed I had to pay for Seeking Alpha. But in truth I find that many of the writers I follow have actionable ideas, basically paying for a 1 year subscription to Premium with just a trade or two. Getting only 5 free articles a month didn't cut it when I read 15+ articles per day. I also found 1 writer whose philosophy about options matches mine which caused me to subscribe to his commentary literally paying for a 1 year subscription with the 1st trade
The comments underneath stories reported in the news are absolutely horrific. The website is extremely toxic when interacting with other users. Everyone is always hurling an insult because someone doesn't have their same viewpoint rather than having a fact-based discussion to analyze a company or story in the news. There is supposed to be a code of conduct but the moderators of the site allow for the worst comments including racism and sexism.

It was an excellent decision of mine to join SA. 4 months before.
At most I appreciate your Quant Rating of stocks.
Up to now I have not yet detected all advantages of your system. Please give me more time!

Sonal, the service rep who answered my message, was efficient and communicated very efficiently while working on the issue. He took ownership of the problem and stuck with it until it was resolved. Sonal is a great example for other service reps to learn from.
SeekingAlpha is a great service. I have literally 7- financial data analysis apps. SA has the full array of tools and professional insights for a novice or a pro! The desktop web app is best-in-class too. No matter where I choose to access the service- I can.

I do like the platform, I think it provides some good information. For me, I wanted to cancel it because I realize I'm not using it enough, I only check my portfolio a few times a year. I bought the yearly subscription and within a couple weeks I wanted to cancel it. Even though they didn't have to, seeking alpha did end up refunding me with a very nice customer service process. Would recommend the website and the free trial to get a feel.

I came to realize that Seeking Alpha is unable to post accurate closing prices on a timely basis for ALL mutual funds. Thus, if you include mutual funds in your portfolio, the values will be inaccurate. I have pointed this out to Seeking Alpha and their developer, but they are unable to correct this problem.

Answer: There was only one question in the are of your question: it was do they work in eastern time zone? I'm in the Central time zone and all times reflect my time. Although I didn't see any option to change to Eastern time. If I had to guess, I would think it could set local to members because they got everything else so right.
Seeking Alpha has a rating of 2.8 stars from 358 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Seeking Alpha most frequently mention premium service, credit card and free trial. Seeking Alpha ranks 3rd among Stock Trading sites.
