Wow, what a "bank". They like to say they are rated #1 lol, that would be number one from the end. Unbelievably poor customer service. They would rather apologize to you for making you hold between 1 and two hours than hire adequate staff. What a joke. The management is rude, they close at 4 pm, ATMs keep your card, so beware and do not accidentally walk away. Bad bad bank!

Entered the "call back" queue 3 days in a row, and never got a call back. Customer service is horrible at best. If you have a question or need help... well forget getting help from SDCCU. A complete JOKE!

Why does San Diego County Credit Union require separation agreements for terminated employees who witness wrongdoing, that condition receipt of severance pay to not raising allegations of their wrongdoing with government agencies?

I agree with many of the reviews regarding their poor customer service. This afternoon I entered the SDCCU branch in Vista and received poor customer service from the branch manager. During a pandemic especially I feel they should offer the same common curiosities other banks and institutions are offering in order to help people in the position of loss. The management has no idea how to keep their clientele. Most of us still have not quite gotten back on our feet. With pending deposits, knowing the money is coming they still charged me four flat fees, just today, regardless of the amount of the charges. They have no empathy nor have any flexibility even knowing someone is in need. I am closing my account and going sonewhere else, they lost a customer that's banked with them for many years. I'm not surprised they are losing many customers already.

Who let the dogs in?
December 4, 2015

San Diego County Credit Union does not care about their customers' safety. They will allow any dog into ALL THEIR LOCATIONS. These dogs are not," ADA Service Dogs", but peoples pets. Some are leashed others are just being held by the dogs owner. I have called them to explain that dogs have bitten me before. It is not safe for non trained pets to mingle with people who are not comfortable with dogs. Especially disabled people with mobility issues like me. I don't want to get bit. They like dogs more than their customers' safety. Just ask, *******@sdccu.

Sdccu is the most backward of places, don't try transferring funds, it takes ages and the "money" disappears for days. Don't expect to call then either... the phone just rings... the only way to get decent service is to go round to the branch... that if your near a branch otherwise you're out of luck. When you get to the branch lots of hierarchy and waiting and standing in line... and their advertising says they are the best,,,, these people are the absolute worst... of the worst.

I tried to open a checking account with them, but I was told my credit score was less than 600, so they decided to open a savings account for me. One week later, I went back to close my account. There, they told me they would charge me $10.00 to close my account as a penalty for closing my savings account with them. I questioned the lady, and she told me this is their policy and that is how they make money from people. I told her I would post a review online and tell the story; her response was, 'I don't care what you want to do.'

SDCCU is simply the most unprofessional organization I've ever dealt with. I applied for HELOC loan on Feb 23,2021. I spoke with a representative and answered about an hour of questions, which are normally required to apply for a loan. I sent in all of the requested documentation within two days of applying for loan. I am now on the 92 day of my application. I have submitted the same documents to customer service rep multiple times. SDCCU has told me delays because a representative was sick, then it was because high volume, then covid affected office, then I was pre-approved but then more documentation required. I have requested to speak to manager multiple times and been given phone numbers for Donald Jared and Beth Pierce. Neither have reached out to me over past 30 days. The communication process with SDCCU is terrible and unsatisfactory.

Over a year ago, I called to close this account as I moved out of California. Last month I stopped using Chrome and started using OPERA. OPERA pulled all info from CHROME and used my supposed to be closed account with SDCCU to pay my SW GAS bill. My fault for not double checking what account was listed. Now just today, I spent over an hour on hold, and another hour waiting for a call back to get this issue corrected and finally get this account closed. I have no clue how they keep getting voted as best credit union in SoCal. Last year at the end of August I called to close the account, middle of September rolled in, and I went to the website just to see if it was close. I was able to log in. I left them messages asking why the account was still open and active, I never once got a response from them. Now this issue. These people are completely incompetent.

Had my mortgage transferred to a new serviced…. After 12 days not being able to access my loan the new company is actually worthless. I just spent an hour on the phone trying to set up my autopay and the rep couldn't tell me what my payoff date would be. She said I would have to send an email to the "Investigation dept" What?
A company that services mortgages that cat tell you info on your mortgage? Only with sdccu

Since sdccu has no phone number to complain I guess the don't have to hear it ( unless I want to write a letter since their email keeps closing due to a "error with the url"

Unbelievable- I walked into Mission Viejo location (dealing with vanessa Zoquiapa) to open a business bank account. This was my second trip to this bank - customer service both times disappointing. Banker was Unknowledgeable, unwilling and Rude. I have totally forgot why I walked out of the bank for the first time! 6month later, today, I wanted to open another bank account and I had to walk away as well. I walked next door to Chase bank and opened a bank account there. My friend did Tell me exactly the same thing - independent experience, also walk to different bank and just as me opened the bank account there. Same documents in our hands, just completely different treatment from bankers there, willing to go extra step.

As trustee and executor of my late brother's estate, I promptly called San Diego County Credit Union (SDCCU) to inform them that he had died and that his checking account should be frozen. I followed up in writing with SDCCU including supporting legal paperwork. Therefore, I was shocked to learn that over several months SDCCU went on to make at least 7 known money transfers out of the account without my knowledge. When I called to notify them of their error, they refused to provide me with any information or help. I ended up being transferred to multiple departments only learning that SDCCU considers the checking account as a "special account". When I asked for their definition of a "special account", they refused to answer. In addition, SDCCU has never provided me with the beginning balance of the account upon notification of death, any bank statements, or transfer amounts. I am in the process in making formal regulatory complaints, but I believe it is very important that the San Diego community knows about SDCCU's and their Regents Branch's unethical financial practices. My late brother wanted his remaining money to go to his nephew and four nieces, but it ended up being mishandled and spent horribly by SDCCU. Be very careful of San Diego County Credit Union because they will take advantage of our deceased loved ones!
