I've been a member since 2006 never received anything in over 10 years! If anyone is found out how to file a lawsuit please let me know! *******@gmail.com
I did the life membership when I was in my early 50's. My last issue was November 2013. I don't remember how much I paid. A fair price for what I thought would be 20 years. I wasn't counting on not getting them after a few years membership # ******* I can tell you the last issue wasn't very good. I wouldn't have spent money on a life membership with so little useful information.
It's great to be known; but it's great to let your online do your promotion!
I started in 1988 with getting magazine and became a member of the club. After that I became a member, I started learning more, throw the information that they put in the megazine.
So then I started testing some of the stuff;
And enjoy it!
Then I started learning more and getting gifts;
And patches of HANDYMAN and tools of handyman company bran!
After paying good money for life membership i gess they took all of our money and ran!
Haven't receved magazine or any other benefits so sad
I had a lifetime membership in 2014
I was told i was going to lose my membership.
Had to buy another membership to keep the magazine coming.
Stay away or get ripped off!
Disappearing $300 membership very disappointed have been a member since 2006 no magazines or contact for 10 years
Paid $300 for lifetime membership, was cancelled with nothing said to me, and now they aren't honoring the old memberships with the new magazine.
I too paid for a lifetime membership and as everyone else I haven't received anything from them in years I agree too about a lawsuit for all lifetime members
I have been a life member since 2003. They must have meant their lifetime not mine. I have not received anything in many, many years. Through research just now I have found out that a company called Scout purchased the club (as well as North American Hunting Club and North American Fishing Club - of which I am also life members). The information stated that it is a NY based company affiliated with CBS. All 3 clubs basically are non-existent and there may be class action lawsuits pending.
I am a lifetime member. I have not received any issues of their magazine in years.
You are supposed to be able to get free tool reviews. Nothing..
I have been a member since 2002. I haven't heard from them in 10yrs.
Why don't we get a class action law suit against them? Surely there is a attorney in the club that got screwed like the rest of us.
I got a few tools about $120.00 worth. Loved the magazine but didn't last long. I heard it from my wife," that's what you get trusting someone over the internet' Will maybe she's right.
Been a life member since May 2006. Since then nothing! I was sent a set of boring screw head in 2004 after a year I was invoiced $19.99 or return the set paid it since I could not find the set anywhere.
I would like my money back. Been a member since 1992 and haven't received anything from them for over 11 years. How can we bring a lawsuit against them
My magazines have stopped 10 years ago and I am a lifetime member these friggin scumbags dont care about nobody but themselves.
Took the money and laughed. Scumbags. May God do justice to the thieves. Was gonna be pre-paid and lots of benefts... a few more magazines and then nothing... oh, we have the wrong address... one magazine dribbles in... then nothing and the phone number is now a scammer...
I agree with one of the reviews, Lifetime members like myself, should have a class action suit. But how to do it, I'm not familiar in how that works.
Paid in full received magazines for about 6 months, a white hat with lifetime member patch and one item to test (a paint pail hook). All correspondence stopped no magazines no product tests no nothing, not even a "F" you letter. I want my money back.
I too paid for the lifetime membership in 2001, And like most it was done in payments. At the time $ was tight but I managed, The cost was $379.00 I enjoyed the magazine. I got a flashlight to test and keep, That was the only item I got from them, and still have. The last magazine is from 2014 when scout bought them out. It was at that time they tried to get a combined lifetime membership for Hunting, Fishing and Cooking magazine for $1000. 00 Sure am glad I didn't go for that scam! And that was the last mag from them too. Lifetime member #*******, Overall rating ( -5) not one star!
Well here I am, a life member since 2002. As I hold my card, the question continues to sadden me, "After the amount of money that I paid, why have I not heard from the Handyman Club of America for a lot of years? Besides, in this age of people demanding accountability of individuals in charge, who is accountable at that club? Maybe the right and fair answer should be... all members get all there money back, and it is prison for someone. Well, does anyone see that happening?
Answer: I too had the the same problem. Found out about a month ago the they changed the name and are not honoring any of the old handyman club memberships sorry
Answer: They closed shop. They embezzled our money.
Answer: Don't feel bad. I (and a lot like me) paid "lifetime" membership dues, and got screwed. Since Handyman aligned with "Scout"... its been downhill all the way. No honoring "Lifetime" benefits. I wish there were a class action lawsuit against them.
