Yo, so I heard that Scottrade ain't around no more. That's a bummer, man. I don't think anyone else can give any more reviews on their site. It's a shame 'cause I remember using it back in the day and it was pretty solid. But I guess things change, ya know? Scottrade is the cheapest/best online broker I'm aware of. I had Etrade and Schwab before, but Scottrade on average was less expensive. It's not glamorous but their online interface works well if you're reasonably tech savvy and a self-directed investor. Check it out.
Scottrade effectively stole thousands of dollars from me as a result of fraudulent activity that may or may not have been an inside job. Scottrade kicked me around and harassed me for 4 months before finally denying my fraud claims.

Think twice before you use Scottrade, they have no fraudulent activity insurance despite the mis represented fraudulent activity and security guarantee.

Can't complain they made trading stocks and options easy. I feel like the cost of the trades are fair and my account is secure. I have visited my local branch and the people there were friendly and helpful.

I use Scottrade as my personal brokerage account. It's cheap and relatively easy to use but if you need help you're better off using a traditional brokerage or wealth manager.
