If there was a zero star rating, I'd rate it a zero. I ordered a green iguana on April 19th. Shipped to me on the 23rd. Today is April 27th, it arrived today, frozen and dehydrated AND DEAD! It sat in a box shipped from FLORIDA TO NEW YORK STATE, WHILE, WE STILL HAVE COLD WHETHER, IT DIED DURING SHIPMENT! It was packed in netting material, with newspapers stuffed inside. It had no source of heat, food/water. It was packed with a 1 FROZEN "HOT PACK", outside of the box. Within that box it had a 1 day priority mail box labeling on it and was sliced with holes around the box, packed with more newspaper so it can squish the poor little guy, box then was sealed with tape. Then it was packed with a much larger box, so that the box that the lizard was in, can MOVE AROUND, ROLL AROUND IN THE BIGGER BOX, It was not labeled live animal or any kind of label saying it was a 1 day priority on the regular box... I am completely disappointed, because I have recorded the whole opening unboxing, as soon as we knew it was dead we immediately called the company, the guy we spoke with did not seem to care and did not apologize. Meanwhile my daughter was crying so hard. This is a disappointing situation as we prepared for this new green iguana into our family. It turned out to be a complete disaster waiting for this box all week long. This company is a rip off. Doesn't care about customer's satisfaction... And I'm still waiting for my refund! Do not purchase from this company. It is a complete rip off and makes me wonder how many times they have tortured these poor animals during shipment and has killed them during shipment. If I could submit a video of my whole unboxing, I would but it won't let me. I'm mad.
I will share this anywhere I can post about this company. This is copied from my best friend who purchased a uromastyx for me for my birthday. Please, do not support this company. They are cruel to their animals and the lizards are sick!
"Do not do business with Reptile City.
UPDATE 03/01: The uromastyx died this morning. I am awaiting confirmation on a full refund.
If I do not get a full refund then I will be taking further action, these people have scammed enough.
UPDATE 02/29: I just spoke to the lovely "Felton" and his only solution was to suggest I return the Uromastyx. That's not going to happen, this is a live animal and we will not subject it to that kind of care again. He's refunding the shipping per my request, but I don't have confirmation of this yet. And that's it. He was rude on the phone, not so much as an apology or explanation, only placing blame on me, saying we didn't contact them within three days (Note: we made several attempts to contact Reptile City with zero response). I suggested a refund for the animal, full or partial, and he refused, stating that no company will do this and that he would be willing to "give any company a call to verify".
I purchased a Uromastyx from them for my best friend. He was shipped in a box inside a box. There was no insulation, just some newspaper. He had one heat pack that was taped to the top of the box and had lost all heat upon arrival. The Fedex box on the outside had no labeling except "Fragile". Nothing was printed on the outer box to suggest a live animal was inside. Because of this, he got tossed around needlessly by the delivery driver, was freezing cold and lethargic upon arrival. His touch temperature was 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Note that these animals live in 100-120 degrees.
We emailed Reptile City's customer service account about our concerns and all we got back was "Thanks for the update". We inquired further and no response was given.
The delivery occurred on the 12th of Feb. By the 26th, we still had not received word back and we have since noticed that the Uromastyx has no use of one of his hind legs, so I gave the customer service line a call and left a voicemail detailing our concerns. No word back by the 28th. I called, left another voicemail, and followed up with another email.
This morning, the 29th, I finally received a response with someone named Felton's cell phone number and an email that just says "call my cell". I texted the number and he said to give him a call. I called, and the line went straight to voicemail. I received a text saying his phone was off because he is at a gymnastics meet. That's fine, I told them to call me when they are available and now I will be awaiting the call.
I hate going full "Karen" on a company but I've been keeping, buying, breeding reptiles for many years and I have never experienced something like this.
We will be taking the Uromastyx to the specialist vet next week with the hopes we are not dealing with MBD, but the outlook right now isn't great. Based on my experience so far with this company, something tells me they won't be offering a refund or to cover veterinary expenses. Regardless, I won't be a returning customer and I will especially not be returning this lizard to their care."

***HERES THE EMAIL I JUST WROTE TO THEM AND ITS EVERYTHING I HAVE TO SAY FOR MY REVIEW SO IM JUST GONNA POST IT. I WISH U DIDNT HAVE TO EVEN RATE 1 STAR BUT I WILL BECAUSE ATLEAST I GOT THESE ANIMALS ALIVE SO FAR ATLEAST BUT THEY WONT EAT ITS DAY 4 NOW. But u can keep calling me private and not ur original phone number. Because I'm pissed the f off how my animals were treated. But here's the email... Hello I just ordered 2 of ur turtles ur sliders and I am veryyyyy appalled by how these 2 little guys were shipped to me. Are u guys almost like a puppy mill or something were u just constantly keep having babies and animals to sell and not worried or be appalled yourself if they told u they were gonna be getting shipped in a small Tupperware container in a bigger box with 1 losey PIEACE of newspaper thinking that's gonna keep them in place so there not just thrown around and hitting each other etc. Then to ship them in no water not even like a wet Lil PIEACE of sponge anything just to have some kinda water source. I'm surprised you guys don't spend a couple of extra cents or dollars to make sure there being shipped in a respectful manner, like putting peanuts in the box or stuffing it with newspaper so the container ain't flying around in the box. I'm just in shock how careless you guys are. Plus I also clicked to have a heating pad thing. I'd like to now we're ud put that because I sure hope it wouldn't be in the little container so they don't get to hot especially with not even a drop of water. I also clicked for them to be shipped with food didn't receive that either and I had them shipped with a 3rd thing also and that wasn't in there I forgot what it was exactly. But you guys also on the box don't have a sticker a damn PIEACE of tape that tapes the box closed with CAUTION live animal written on it or anything there's nothing that I recall seeing on the box that said anything to do with live animals and if there was that means it's way to damn small written. Even when I seen the fedex guy drop them off he even tossed the box a little bit up on the porch were it was enough to make them hit each other. U can't even send them in separate containers so they have no way to be smashing into eachother or nothing. I'm like blabbing on because I don't know how to really put in words how much animal abuse that was shipping them poor things because you guys neglect on your part to make sure there secure and being shipped with every care possible even if that was for you yourself to write all over the box live animals not just write fragile cause that could just be a Dang plate, no they need to know there's animals inside the box eo then they'll have a little more respect for shipping and how there handled and they could put it up front or a secure spot for them, because I'm sure most FedEx people would respect them also more knowing there's live animals in there. I don't care if you guys see hundreds of turtles or dead fricken turtles a day but we as customers don't see that and obviously have a heart for these animals that's why we ordered them and paid FRICKEN 30.00$ for shipping when I only paid a lousy 10$ bucks for both turtles. So that should say something if we're willing to be paying more for shipping then the animals cost. Welpp also it's been 3 days my turtles won't eat there not very active they just like sit on the Dang bottom of the tank and don't move and just sit there yes there alive but there like tramatized. No wonder you only offer 6 or 10 days to return if they end up dieing because that's around the time they would die is when the days to return them are over because they can go a week or 2 even without eating and then end up starving themselfs to death and then u guys aren't responsible for them. To be bluntly honest if it wasn't for your guys careless shipping and how there shipped and there safety etc they prolly wouldn't be as tramatized and Whatever I don't now but something needs to be done. Even like on your website you click to do that bogo sale and put a quanity in your only able to pick one gender unless u ring them up separate but then I couldn't get that bogo code thing to work so I could do a female and a male so I had to call for you guys to change it but when I called the dude said oh you only ordered it 4 days ago and you'll be prolly getting them within the next week, so he was supposibly able to change it to one female one male. But I think that is bogus seeing as I got my turtles the next Dang day witch means they were obviously packaged and picked out so doubt you went back in there to switch them, when I called it was later in afternoon so I doubt I got 1 of each they prolly weren't even at your facility because like I said I got them the next day tell the ignorant dude also to say bye Insteadve just hanging thebphone up or trust me I could've played the rude game I bet even better. It's just sad that u guys see no problem in this shipping bull$#*! when someone pays 29.99 for damn shipping and they got shipped LIke that. To not even have live animals on the box nothing I still can't rap my head around that. Put yourself in my shoes and see how you'd like that and maybe your thought on how to ship will upgrade or you'll change something because it needs to be done. I Prolly will get aholda of the (BBB) Better Buisness beuro to make them aware and maybe go in and check your shipping department and how yous actuwllybcwnt handle your animals, just because u guys showed absolutely no resoect I have no respect for you but I do for them poor animals. You guys write the warranty thing about how many days you'll cover like your proud For 6 or 10 days. No you should be proud that you shouldn't even have to replace the animals because u did everything possible to make sure they arrived alive or maybe you should write next to ur policy that if we didn't neglect and had actual respect for animals and did everything possible to make sure they arrive alive are animals wouldn't have to be replaced but we care about putting the least in the boxes so we can put them couple extra bucks in are pockets. I went and also spent like 200 Little over on all the stuff for these guys even. I feel I need to be reimbursed or shipped even another turtle or something seeing there only a losey 5$ bucks. I brought them to mighty pet even when I received them to see what there reaction would be and they weren't happy either at all and they said if they ever hear your site they no not to recommend it site to anyone Also like I won't be doing. But u damn right I'll be writing a review plus posting this email stating what I wrote u guys. U guys don't care about animals dieing because the neglect on your part because ur afraid to spend an extra couple cents to ship them in separate containers to put a couple extra pieces of newspaper, peanuts in the box litterally anything to show u guys care that they get received and there alive even put a pad or something in the containers. So if they are smacking around there not just hitting eachother or the plastic but some kinda cushion something. Plus putting them in separate containers will make it so there's wallllaaaaa less space in the box and less room for them to get thrown around and then you won't have to worry about putting so much extra so the containers don't move by putting more newspaper I'm sure u get for free anyways. You screwed the wrong animal lover up. Because I'll go to the last extent to make sure u guys aren't a mill and to make sure alotta things u guys do change for shipping. You guys express and make sure to have so much bull$#*! about the shipping process you should worry about how they are shipped and how there treated and that u guys did do everything possible for them to not die. And as rude as that dude was on the phone I feel u guys are more in it for the money then the animals sake. I'm reading reviews if I new there was this many bad review I would've ordered from the other turtle site that had better reviews. But I guess u get what you pay for right. But hey I paid alot for shipping they should arrived in almost a mold so they didn't move even stuck the containers to the box so they don't move. I'm just shocked by the no food the no water and especiwlly I don't care a quarter size or not 2 in one container $#*! the container should be a little bigger if your even putting 2. If you can't do it the right way to do it only once and do it right the first time because maybe your penny punchers then maybe your in the wrong profession. But you bet I will be getting aholda the BBB and I hope others read this and do the same also. There's plenty of comments from a ways back and yous havebt changed $#*! to make sure the shipping goes better. Maybe even talking to FedEx. Actually maybe getting some bright tape or stickers made or your own hand written with black marker there's live animals in here. I'll be waiting for a response while I fill out a form for the BBB. Thanks for your time.

Don't ever buy from here. NEVER EVER EVER EVER. UNLESS U LIVE CLOSE TO PICK THEM UP YOURSELF. THERE RUDE. DISSRESPECTFUL OF ANIMALS AND KEEPING THEM ALIVE. THEY SEEM LIKE PENNY PINCHERS. I RECIEVED THEM IN A LITTLE CONTAINER 2 TURTLES IN 1 EVEN. WITH NO WATER. NO FOOD. NO HEAT PAD. NOTHING WITCH I CLICKED ON THAT I WANTED. THERES NOTHING ON THE BOX THAT SAYS LIVE ANIMALS SO THEY GOT THROWN AROUND WITH 1 LOUSEY PIEACE OF NEWSPAPER THINKING THATS GONNA KEEP THEM SAFE AND SECURE YA FEN RIT
I bought 2 baby slider turtles
I ordered two baby White's tree frogs AKA Green Australian Tree Frogs AKA Dumpy Tree Frogs. I had gone to them because the website/breeder I normally order things and animals for amphibians, reptiles and various bug species were out of stock for these adorable frogs, all morphs, so I turned to ReptileCity. I was amazed at the prices, especially with the "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" deal since I wanted a pair of males anyway. I ordered with standard shipping, so they would fulfil it in 30 days, and ship it. I ordered and happily awaited. I then decided to do some research on them since their "Free Range, 20 acre all natural farm" story seemed too good to be true. I stumbled across all the reviews here about animals not showing up, or coming sick or even DEAD. But, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. When they arrived today, first red flag, it wasn't in a live animal box, not even a sticker or label. I opened the box to find a few pages of crumpled news paper as "padding" and inside was a container with less than a hand full sphagnum moss (the container was cylinder and was on it's side might I add), one of the frogs was up on the side peering out, the other had nestled itself into an alcove in the minimal moss. I was a bit concerned about how the one up on the side was a bit skinny, but this is my first time owning them and I thought I may be overreacting since he wasn't that skinny, so I wasn't too concerned. Took them both out, both were extremely friendly and seemed quite excited to be out of that box. Other than the one being a bit skinny, both looked fine. THAT WAS WRONG. I took them out later, to show to my little brother who was at school when they arrived, and to feed them the extra small crickets we got. As we were feeding them on the table, the seemingly normal one hopped around inspecting things on the table, like my mom's purse. My mom suddenly began to stare at his foot and said something looked wrong with his toe. She picked him up and part of his toe was literally almost hanging off. The wound looked old, so we knew it hadn't been caused by the other frog in transit. We realized that he was also missing a complete toe on his front foot. So, yeah. Never ordering from them again. I am taking him to the vet tomorrow.
UPDATE: We took him to the emergency exotic vet in our area. They didn't have in specific amphibian vets on shift that day, but did have an exotic vet that deals with reptiles and such, but she was busy, but the vet we were working with went and spoke with her after we gave her the whole spiel and they had examined him and the other one (we brought him along for company and to make sure nothing was wrong with him). She explained that the injured toe that it could've been chytrid or trauma from something else (such as fighting with another frog at the breeder). They thought it may have been chytrid because he also had lacerations on his lip. He also may have had a broken or fractured front leg because it was swollen and another fractured toe, which would've been caused in shipping because it wasn't a live animal box, so they didn't handle it with extra care. The injured toe also had exposed bone. They explained that they could do surgery on the toe, put him antibiotics, and that if it is chytrid they could try antibiotics, but there was no guarantee. The cost was enormous if we got everything, and again no guarantee he would get better. We decided the best thing to do for him was to put him down, and even though I only had him around 36 hours, I was still distraught, thinking it was my fault for ordering from these people, but I realized that it was better for him that I had ordered him, because he probably would've sat there and suffered from his exposed bone and gotten infection, or literally rotted alive if he had chytrid, or he may have gone to someone who would've ignored it. We decided to "quarantine" the other one, and wait a few weeks to see if he may have had chytrid as well because he also has lacerations on his lip before we order him a friend (DEFINETLY NOT FROM THESE PEOPLE), so he doesn't get another frog sick if he does.
This is the email I sent them which explains my experience. I wish I was not at work so I could post a picture of the dragon I ordered, the one I received and the package it came in.
No need to respond, your obviously too busy. Just wanted to give feedback. My son spent his birthday money to purchase a bearded dragon from you guys. He could have went to PetsMart and purchased one at a much cheaper price but he wanted one that looked different. After searching several sites he found a Fire/red one that he loved and we purchased. He did not have enough money so I pitched in and chose the free delivery option, thinking surely it would not take 30 days for delivery. We could purchase from China and receive one before then. My son patiently waited and waited. 30 days came and I emailed inquiring. The tone in the reply was short and rude, basically stating you are running a few days behind and you would be happy to refund the money. Obviously after waiting a month I did not want a refund. I was told it would ship the following Monday and arrive on Tuesday (34 days later). Monday came and I received no email, so I emailed again on Tuesday. Was told it would be sent out that day and I would receive it the next day. Finally the next day I never received an email, but on the expected day of delivery received an email at 1230 the same day it was supposed to be delivered (not the day before like it stated would happen so I could make arrangements), stating it was being sent by USPS and would arrive between 12 and 2. I called the post office because I was not home and they replied they attempted to deliver it at 1215 (even though I didn't even get the email until after the attempted delivery) and no one was home but I could schedule for it to be delivered the next day or come to the post office and pick it up the next day. I stressed to them that I could not wait another day because there was a live animal in the package. The employee assured me there was not, stating it was just an envelope and it was not marked fragile or live animal. My spouse canceled her last 3 clients (losing money) in order to make it to the post office before they closed to obtain the package. Luckily they were nice enough to let us get it the same day. The package was indeed an envelope with no special markings. I feel sorry for what the dragon must have gone through getting tossed around here and there from Texas to Georgia. When we opened it, it was a totally different color then what we chose and could not have been from the same liter because if that was the case it would have been at least a month old, being we waited that long for it. It was tiny and looked much younger. It acts lethargic but is alive and we will try to care for it. I would never suggest anyone buy from you guys. Totally disappointed. I could sense the attitude in the replies to my emails. You guys need to hire some help if you are that overwhelmed. I will make sure I leave a review anywhere I can, warning people before they purchase. You also need to let people know that what they are seeing in the picture is not what they will actually get. Please take more pride in your job.
I have received reptiles and amphibians from ReptileCity in questionable containers via USPS previously. But I was recently deeply troubled to receive a notice, one day before delivery, that my two sulcatas were expected the next day. I responded back via email that I should have been advised prior to shipment so that I could have the box held at the PO because of our severe heat. No response. And later I figured why...
When the box arrived, I was upset at what I saw: small USPS Priority Mail box, SEALED SHUT, no holes, in my hot mailbox. One tortoise was active, the other lethargic... for three days. I noted the shipping label: shipped on Saturday, arrived on Wednesday late afternoon in 90+ degree weather.
Other companies have shipped their animals to me with breathable packaging. I contacted the USPS to find out the Regulations about shipping sulcatas. I discovered these regulation infractions by Reptile City:
Pub 52.522.1 Container Construction: "USPS-produced packaging, including Flat Rate containers, are NOT ELIGIBLE to be used."
522.2 Security and Ventilation: "Containers must... provide adequate ventilation for the animals at all times."
522.3 Marking: Each mail piece must bear a complete return address and be MARKED ON THE ADDRESS SIDE with a description of the contents (e.g., LIVE ANIMALS, Live Honey Bees, etc.).
525 Nonmailable Live Animals: Nonmailable types of animals discovered in the mailstream MUST BE REPORTED to the PCSC in accordance with the instructions in POM 139.118. Additionally, the MAILER and the Post Office of mailing MUST BE NOTIFIED to PREVENT FUTURE SHIPMENTS FROM BEING INCORRECTLY ACCEPTED FOR MAILING.
And most damning of all...
525.3 Reptiles: ALL snakes, turtles, and poisonous reptiles are NON-MAILABLE.
(Interestingly, though, Baby Alligators, Baby Caimans, Chameleons, Frogs, Lizards, Newts, Reptiles and Amphibians, Salamanders, Tadpoles and Toads are mailable in NON-USPS packaging/boxes.) Also. For the sake of definition: tortoises are considered "turtles" for USPS mailing purposes..."All tortoises are turtles; they all belong to the order Testudines or Chelonia."
For the time-being, my baby sulcatas are fairing well; however, I will never order from Reptile City again in spite of enticing sales, BOGOs, and free shipping. I cannot support a company who infringes on USPS regulations at the risk of endangering the animals.
This worst $#*!ing ppl I ever I countered FO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY from them... first off I ordered 3 hatchling turtles 2 res and 1 western painted... they sent the 2 res ALONE... Nothing saying the ties would come separately so I HAD TO CALL THEM and he says oh you'll have it next week (eye opener) so okay I'm thinking maybe it hasn't hatched yet, well I'll be darn the turtle came and it was a juvinile wayyyy bigger than expected, okay so I decided to keep him no biggie since I paid 30 alone just for that one... well it's been about two weeks and no turtle activity they don't swim all they do is stay on the rocks even while the lights are off... the 2 res would eat but no poop,... and the western would eat a little maybe two pellets (mind you he's a little over 3 inches)today I came to peek in on them and one was floating dead, the other STILL on the basking ledge and one that looks fine for now... I called them to let them know and this $#*! named Nina caught a attitude because I "insinuated" they sent me sick turtles... wellllll THE $#*! ARE they then if their not sick... this is not my first go round with turtles I know how to take care of a $#*!in turtle... the water right the basking area is correct. She tells me I have too much water in the tank $#*! bye do ya research these turtles can swim in the deepest water long as they can get to the top for air... I have plenty of resting areas in my tank... my first turtle were from THE TURTLE STORE... fast services good communication, alive and active turtles... this what happened when you try to go cheaper you get what you pay for... I will be ordering from them today to replace these pieces of $#*!... and I will do anything in my power to have this place shut down... they just $#*!ed with the wrong persons money...
