Horrible experience. Scheduled a payment, they asked for recipient ID which was provided, then they made some lame excuse of "suspicious activity" and canceled the transaction. Contacted support, the support agent told me "After careful review, this transaction was cancelled to ensure we comply with our Risk and compliance policies."
I said this is very generic, give me a specific response that I can fix.
She replied "well this is just verification processes we need to compliance" - again a generic response.
I asked what is that they were unable to verify.
She replied: "that is a process that makes risk department. If you want I can escalated the transaction to that department so you can received a contact from them I they can answer to that question in specifically way"
I agreed and created another transaction. Which was also canceled without being given any valid reason.
Support was in broken English and mostly generic - the company failed to live up to the standards of customer service.
I would very strongly advise everyone to find another source to transmit your money instead of wasting your time with these people and frustrating yourself and the receiver of the money.

I sent money to a friend in Gujranwala Pakistan Via Remilty reference R*******887, and Muslim Commercial bank said that no money is sent and received. Why Remilty has such a bad place for pick up. Finally she had to go Alfalfah Bank to pick up.

Poor service and very poor customer service
For 1 transaction I find hard time
It's was second time I use it but it's was very bad experience
And even when you call Custmer service they don't help you they just spend your time
I use too many times transfer wise it's the best for send money and safe for your money
I transferred a big amount through Remitly from UK to India. Remitly confirmed that the funds have been delivered to my bank account in India so transaction has been completed. When I checked my India bank statement after almost a month, I couldn't find the transaction and money. When I contacted Remitly customer service, the lady on customer service was very rude. She said the money has been sent to the account. When I told her that the money hasn't been received in my India bank account and requested to identify where the money has gone, she refused to discuss any further details and said money has been sent and nothing can be done. When I contacted the bank in India they confirmed that the funds where sent back due to some error in the transaction. They also provided me a report of this returned transaction. Remitly accepted that the funds were returned when I supplied this report to them.
Remitly held my money for almost around a month without my acknowledgement until I identified that the money hasn't been transferred. Their app as well as the customer service person repeated confirmed that the funds had been delivered when that wasn't the case. I required to chase up continuously with Remitly to get my money back and had a very stressful time. I will never use their service ever again.
They take tour money and even if you sent identificación they say delayed processing issues! Take more than 2 weeks tomorrow Timoteo tomorrow and the waiting time is horrible
The initial experience was satisfactory except the fact that the transfer took over 3 days and was paid on the fourth. The second experience and the anguish is still ongoing. Initial the site said the transfer is absolutely free but towards end it said it is liable to a fee of £2.99. The rates as not competitive and now the bombshell of the fee but I still proceeded because of the first experience. But now it is over 4 days the transfer hasn't reached the recipient who is in desperate need of the money. You cannot contact them in any way and this is conveniently being blamed on Covid-19 virus. I have send them emails requesting refund of my money and the fees but no response whatsoever. This is diabolical and disgusting way to treat a customer who is the foundation of the success of the business. This utter disrespect and disregard is unacceptable from a successful Company. Avoid them at all costs. There are other better companies around; shop around on comparison websites such as Monito. Thanks reading and good luck
Remitly refuses to give me my funds that were never delivered to the account in Mexico. They keep telling me that the funds were delivered, however the individual never received them. They change the date of when i will get the funds they said 3 days, now it's 21 days. They promised a call back and Amanda A the supervisor does not return calls. When you ask for a sup they have you waste your time waiting for a callback. On Wednesday they told me the sup would call me back in 30 mins and today they said they couldn't give a time frame. THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD, DONT USE THEM. STAY AWAY.
Nightmare experience being treated like a criminal!
Wish I would have read all these sickening reviews before trying to transfer 50 dollars from my my account in the states to my wife's account in Bolivia!
We have both had our bank accounts in the us for years and have transferred thousands of dollars throughout the years from the states to Bolivia because I trade cryptocurrency for a living and keep my crypto accounts attached to our bank in the US for safety. I decided to try 50 to test remitly to see if it could actually do its job.
Anyway the remily app told me the transaction went through sometime in the afternoon.
At almost 11:00 that night my phone rang repeatedly. When I finally answered there was some women on the line saying there was "suspicious activity on my account" and she needed me to send her a selfie of me holding up my passport to clear my name so my money wouldn't get tied up.
She kept me on the phone probably an hour asking me all kinds of weird personal questions, putting me on hold so she could "review my case" over and over again.
Finally after an especially long hold time she cheerfully returned to inform me that I had violated some rule but wouldn't tell me what it was, and that they would not let me deposit the measley 50 dollars into my wife's account.
I tried to make a transaction of $200 to a family and the account ended up locking.
Contacted the company and talked with the customer representative and were asking a list of personal questions about who was the recipient and the reasoning why I wanted to send the fund.
How many years do I know that person?
Name and last name.
Recipient business if they owed one?
How many people that I know that have been sending money to the recipient?
What was the money the recipient will be used for?
History of previous transactions.
Why did you choose their service vs other company services?
What are the company names that you use?
Where do you hear about the company?
How many transactions do you try to send out?
Where/how do you meet that person?
Still, more questions I couldn't recall…
I felt like I was being interviewed for a CEO role!
Overall, more like a list of scamming questions trying to gather as much information for their benefit.
In the end, they ended up with me not following their rules and suspending my account. I was like what did I do wrong…?
In my head, I thought kinda funny and ridiculous. Pretty much you wanna buy the product/service and they denied to sell/serve you while you pay for it, not for free.
The customer representative just said too bad I'm done with you. Pretty much you can go ahead using other services!
Went to check with Moneygrams and they had a higher rate and charged fees less than this company.
Recommend Moneygrams!

Yes, i transferred money. Yes, my transaction was put on hold, yes my transaction was cancelled due to "suspicious circumstances", yes, they debited my bank account ( which they said they hadn't)...
And, no - I cant activate my Remitly(App) account because they have locked me out, in order to retrieve my transaction.

This company is totally piece of $#*!. First they wil provide you horrible service, then they will be proud of that horrible service and some "Glazia Manipon" sitting in Phillipines's Cebu/Manilla/Makati will reach out to you to inform that they are proud of thier crap service.
Stick to Western Union or just talk to your Bank and Bank will get it sorted out. You are doing yourself a favor by not reaching out to these garbage companies and thier representatives sitting in 3rd world countries under the "OUTSOURCING" model.
Worse service ever! I should have come across this page before even trying to work with them. Never again. Go use them and regret every bit of it!
Tried to use Remitly to send money to my wife in Colombia. Was only sending $10 to make sure that the service worked properly. Instead of sending the money, they refused the transaction and locked my account, claiming suspicious activity.
Believe me, there was absolutely nothing suspicious or problematic about my transaction. At their request, I even logged into my bank account and provided them with a special code from my bank account to prove that the account was mine. But even after that extra step, they blocked the transaction and locked my account. Why did they do that? Again, who knows?
Because of this, I contacted their customer service to see what the problem was and they refused to tell me, hiding behind legalese. I then raised the issue to a higher level within the company. Today I received the following response from them:
"We reviewed your Remitly activity again and determined that we will not be able to reactivate your profile because it violates our User Agreement. This decision is final.
For more information, please take a look at the types of transfers we can support. We're unable to provide you with additional details on this matter moving forward — thank you for your understanding."
How could sending $10 to my wife possibly violate their User Agreement? It obviously doesn't. But they don't care. They simply lock your account, refuse to provide you with any information, and blame the customer instead of taking responsibility.
Of course, companies like Remitly act with impunity because they can and no one can hold them accountable for their actions.
This is an absolutely horrible company with zero accountability. As I said in the title of my review, avoid them like the plague. BTW, the same transaction via one of their competitors worked without a problem. Which just goes to show that the problem is Remitly.

This company close my account,dont know why,no real explanation why,stay away this company,one day you open account cant use anymore
They asked for private information and I had to cancel the transaction. It's a fraud please save yourself a headache
If there any other way for you to send money use it this one isn't worth it and the service sucks they don't address concern and avoid questions

I was referred by a frnd to use this remitly, but I will tell u that they are the worst. They don't know what they are doing. Asked me to upload every docs for verification, I did, but couldn't verify statement of acct from bank, was reading it upside down, frustrated hell out of me. Their service is THE WORST I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE. NO SUPERVISOR TO HELP THE EMPLOYEES OUT. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE OR U WILL BE FRUSTRATED WITH THEIR SERVICE. I wished I had recorded call, u would have listened to it a see how staff were misinterpreting statement of account from a bank. I gave u 1 star because I did not see ZERO STAR!

Remitly made a point of entering my account without my knowledge, charged me thousands without my consent, did not provide the service I paid for and after all that, refused to send back any money. There are actually 5 pages of charges, but I could only load one here. You are not aware of the massive amount you are actually being charged until its over.

ON MAY 1st, 2023, Remitly robbed me of $1,992.00 and some change. They charged me a fortune, never sent the money, never returned it to me, nor the excessive charges nor the fees. I sent the proof to banking regulators, the Federal Trade Commission, and The Attorney General's office.
Also, they deliberately break down the charges onto small clumps, because they know that it takes between $25.00 to $50.00 for each attempt at a CHARGEBACK. This us done deliberately to prevent you from making a CHARGEBACK against their company. They are shrewd and calculating. BEWARE OF REMITLY. Do not use this company. You WILL REGRET IT.
