I made a money transfer that took more than 5 days to complete, then I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and tried again and it turned out that it took another 4 days and nothing to complete the transfer, Be very careful with this company if you need to send money with urgency to someone outside the USA, Remitly is not at all reliable in completing transfers on time and the excuses are even worse than the poor service they offer their clients, SHAME ON THEM
I sent P11,000 to the Philippines and the money never arrived to the receiver, please DO NOT USE REMITLY, they will not help you should issues arise, they will not give you an update, you will have to repeatedly explain the issue over and over with no resolution. Your money is not secure, they don't protect their clients and are just after their commission. Wish they would CLOSE DOWN and go Bankrupt
I have lost money after making an express transaction and it has been a week now and the money hasn't been transferred to the recipient account. No answers yet.
I tried sending US $1010. 00 to a bank overseas on February 17,2022. Remitly confirmed using their bogus auto emails to me that the proceeds were delivered to my beneficiary's account but the bank never received the amount. This international bank management and officials are known to me. The bank performed an internal inquiry and initiated a trace for the missing funds and transacted amount, and confirmed to me that nothing from Remitly hit their bank accounts. I complained to Remitly customer service which itself is a big fraud. They customer care specialists cannot even speak English. They will be give you false promises and nothing will happen. I wish the USA's Federal exchange regulation shut this financial fraudsters down from other consumer complaints. Don't even try to do business with this scammers. My matter is now being taken up by the Maryland Office of the Commissioner of Financial Regulation and another complaint pending at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to have this fraudsters blacklisted and litigated for wire fraud.

They don't actually transfer amounts above $1050.
Here is their game. After completing a transaction, they hold your money claiming it is pending. When you get in touch with the so called customer service which is located in India and useless because the customer service itself doesn't have any contact with REMITLY meaning they cant help out in anything. They will ask you to cancel the transaction, here you are getting into the game. The moment you cancel, you will never receive your money on your account. What is claimed on the website about refund policy is all lies. When you get back to the so called scam customer service, they will guarantee you that the money was transferred back to your account the day you cancelled and that, you should call your bank. I did call my bank just to hear that, they hear much about these guys, they are not honest, their bank account for Europe is in Belgium, my bank in the Netherlands. EU transactions take maximum 1 day or even seconds after transfer.
The information from my bank further proves that, these guys are just a scam. They will use your money until they make enough profit from it then return it to you. In my case they haven't got enough profit from it so I haven't received my money back.
My sad moment is the money was meant for an urgent medical intervention. The person passed away due to REMITLY negligence.
Avoid them at all cost!
On Monday, May 23,2022, I was the victim of a scam. The scammers took 940€ from me that same day at 8:52 p.m. through my card that ends in "0538" using this system: REMITLY. This shows that Remitly is NOT a SAFE system as it DOES NOT CARE that its users may be SCAMMERS. This lack of care makes Remitly just another scammer in all its letters. Money and people's good faith is NOT somenthing to PLAY WITH, so for this reason I am spreading the word through social networks so that NO ONE will be again a VICTIM of a SCAM through REMITLY.

I send a transaction on the 19th of this month and I'm still waiting for the delivery. It been 10 days already and they can't fix the issue and no one knows what is the problem.
Remitly is truly the worst money transfer service I have ever used. But it's not okay that. It's the worst service company I've ever interacted with. They are beyond the worst. This third rate joke of a company has no place in the financial services industry. I use TransferWise primarily and WesternUnion or MoneyGram once in a while in a pinch. I found out about Remitly and gave them a try and I cannot believe what I have just went through. The amount of time wasted. The incompetence.
I understand the need for outsourcing to India and the Philippines to pay people $100 a month to answer your calls. But do you have to hire the shoddiest most incompetent phone slaves in existence. Their call centers are a joke.
I sent a total of 5 transfers. The first two I spent over an hour on hold before being asked 20 questions and then the Filipina telling me she was approving my transaction like she was doing me a FAVOR!
Then after verifying my Identity and saying in an email that they "apologize for the time" it takes for the verification process and it's a "one time" process. And they won't need to do it again. FALSE!
I had to go through their verification questions and sending my bank statements every single time!
Then I sent $500 instead of $200 and they asked again for my bank account which I sent. Then without a word they cancelled my account and refunded the money and the Indian guy on the line laughed and said I can't use their service anymore?!?!?
Stay far away! They are a joke! Not even remotely worth the time and pain to save a couple bucks!
I used to send money from Xoom and never had an issue but as soon as I switched to Remitly, it was nothing but a disaster? When I sent the money to Pakistan and my brother had to make several trips to the bank before he was able to pick up the money and the last time I sent money was on December 20th 2020, my brother had to go to several banks to pick up the money, some banks told him that they're not partner with Remitly and others said we did not receive any money yet... So I got so frustrated and canceled my transaction on December 31st 2020 after 11 days. I am switching back to Xoom.
Vendors are using this site to the unknowing consumer to receive funds for purchases and then not sending the merchandise. I reached out to Remitly (rep) that told me there was nothing they could do! After letting them (rep) know that I was contacting the better business bureau and writing a lengthy review I was informed that the bank rep would contact me to reverse my funds then the rep ended the chat before receiving my contact info! I chatted with a second rep who told me the complete opposite that there was nothing that they could do, which is POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE! IF REMITLY IS RECEIVING THE CONSUMERS FUND AND RELEASEING TO THE VENDOR, REMITLY SHOULD DO THE RIGHT THING AND REFUND THE CONSUMER THEN GO AFTER THE V-EN-D-O-R! DO NOT USE THEM VERY POOR PRACTICE AND I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
After sending money. When I tried to send before my trip. They stopped all sending from any cards I had. I had to go abroad with no way to send money. Do not trust this company

I sent the money after 20 hrs they are asking me to send them the receiver ID first they said it will take 1 hr then every time I call says it will take 2 more hrs it goes like this for more than 20 hrs
Then I requested for a refund even refund they says will take 7 days so in nutshell this company should be ignored and read so much negative about them i made great mistake in choosing this company
The $0.20 you save in the transaction does not merit the awesome lag time. In the past month, I've tried to send money and they keep requesting the same information all over again. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I wish I had read the reviews here for remitly before I attempted to send a foreign friend some money before they starved due to pandemic instead these fraudsters blocked the payment and kept the money and locked me out of their system and with no phone contact I could not use their chat as you can only access that when you log in i had to register under another name to get in to chat, and only after going to my bank who suggested I contact the police and wrote to the ombudsman they finally refunded me. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO SEND MONEY VIA THESE CROOKS they are literally getting away with murder and should have been shut down long ago as all these victims have been SCAMMED

Complete joke, I provided more legal documents (live photo of passport, Drivers license) and current bank statement, and that wasn't enough for identity verification... they called me several times and asked inane questions about my life that had NOTHING to do with the transfer, etc...

I have sent money twice, they delivered it to my recipiant, not in minutes but in Hours, then now for the third time the hold my payment, and ask for recipiant ID, i have provided, still same on hold, then contacted them on costumer service, no phone, no email, and no chat available, after some time chat appeard, i waited til was my turn, chated to many different names wich i habe doubt that same persone with no specific answer, only said we will email to their partner to release my payment, 2 days gone same thing. Looks like a multi million dollar scam is remitly. Stay Away from them.

They offer a promo via emails, when you are ready to send money they will renege on the promo that was offered in the first place. Kudos to you Remitly, keep it up!
SCAM REMITLY. DO NOT USE THEM. USE XOOM. They would deliver the exact amount that they promise. Remitly will trap you by showing the more currency exchange but after sending money you will receive a confirmation with less money
