I did send over 1000$ to my US account from Europe.
The mail said the money should have come in by now but this is not the case.
After reaching out to 3 different customer service employees the chat always went silence after sending the wire number.
No support what so ever but we will keep pushing.

I have used Remitly a couple of times to transfer money to my family both in Gambia and Senegal. While their mobile app is user-friendly, I find their service process to be too slow and frustrating. On a couple of times I made transfers, Remitly sends me email and notifications to indicate that my transfer has been delivered to the recipient. However, in reality this is usually not the case. I have to keep on calling several times before my transfers are actually delivered to the recipient or deposited to the intended bank account. I find this to be appalling. To make things worse, whenever I call their customer care centre, the agents cannot seem to find a solution for my complaints or enquiries. This is utterly disappointing. Even to get my remittance delivered to the intended recipient, the process has to take a minimum of three days. This is the worse customer service I have ever experienced from an international company. Appalling!
I created my account (providing all information requested) and then started to make transfer. I got message that I can't do transfer until I provide ID! I already created account and provided all required! For ID this time they requested a video of my self while talking! When I asked why it was not requested while I was creating my account - no answer. When I asked to provide me with the a legal document stating this requirement - no answer. Do not get me wrong, I got a lot of talking, but no answers. You also can't delete your account or remove some of your personal information. It is also not clear (I got conflicting answers from different people) if your personal info permanently deleted from there data or stays there after THEY delete your account at your request. I am waiting on confirmation that they deleted my account and my personal info...
This is Remitly modus operandi: They first cancel the transaction arguing that there was a problem with your bank (untrue), but they keep the money. Then they go dark and let you chase them using a front line support who only offers scripted excuses. They stole $5000 from me this way.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I made a transfer a few months back that was never process by the the bank recipient. I called customer service and put in a request to get the transaction looked at and after the investigation was done, they concluded the transfer was never process which ended up in a refund. Fast forward to now and I'm trying to utilize the app again only to find out my account has been suspended and it is their final decision. I did not get any explanation/reasons for this decision as their customer service stated they did not have the authorization to disclose the information. Please don't waste your time and if you could avoid this app at all cost.

Remitly Customer service is going to do a trace to see what happened but if there's a certain that it was received, they should have proof of that, but they cannot provide it.
Is this point this is my formal notice to the company remitly if you do not send me back the almost $900 back to my account within this week. I am going to send a legal letter to demand the money in small claims court.
I have read over 500 reviews of you losing peoples money, playing games with CustomerService and you're doing the same tactics to me so I'm not going to go through it you have until Wednesday to return my money or I'm going to send a notice of demand to Delaware to your registered agent and I'm going to initiate a small claims court lawsuit against you for failure to deliver the money and failure to comply with banking laws in know your customer KYC verification as he didn't do any at all, but your claim that the money got there somehow.
It never got there so you owe me the money. I want money back and I'm going to get the money back.
When I looked at the site it looked very promising, I created a account and just did my first transfer, it got suspended and the next thing I know was my account got suspended, and said that my account looked fraudulent, I have been using other modes of money transfer without issues for the last years and I can bet that I never did any fraudulent activity. I tried chatting with the customer care they just said "we are sorry your account has been suspended" and asked me to read their Rules and regulations which I never understood. Anyways my money is safe never will again try Remitly for sure.
I heard Remitly was a faster option. I did an Express transaction and not only was it not instant like they claim, it took over 12 days to arrive. On the tenth day, they hadn't contacted me and I had to reach out to THEM and then they sent me an email to update information I had already provided. To make matters worse they promised they'd refund my 20 dollars payment along with a 5 dollar bonus for the inconvenience and it's been a month. Absolutely nothing was returned. The transfer was for important meds for a family member and they royally screwed me over. I do not recommend this app at all, it's super slow and doesn't even have a good transfer rate.
The first time that you make a transfer they will process it relatively smoothly, specially if it is a small amount. The second time they will get you. They disappear with your money and you will be dragged into a nightmare, dealing with customer services agents that are totally incompetent, barely speak English, and are trained to repeat the same thing over and over with the only intend to tire you out, and make you give up. Even if you send them written formal requests for an explanation, they will never respond. You will have to take them to court, which most people can't afford to to, or most likely, you will just give up. End result: Remitly wins, you lose!
Beware of this company, if something gets wrong you are screwed. The costumer service is horrible and unprofessional. Every time I call or text to know what happen to my bank deposit I get new story. Either they don't know what they are talking about or they are l just lying to me. Meanwhile, I'm still running to behind my money after a month for a transaction that supposed to take 3 days. I hope one day I get my money back. When you use the chat they just ignore you

First and probably last time I will use. Me chasing to trace transaction and did arrive when needed
Each time is a new issue. Ridiculous invasive?s &verifications each time I send to someone who is listed and already verified receiver. No matter if their info hasn't changed nor my info or banking details is all the same as previous transfers or the amounts are not outrageous and always around the same, they hold up the transfer multiple times requesting often to verify the account which is not different that the past and claiming that it's invalid account or that a savings account is a checking account even. Only when I change and check the actual savings account is a checking to satisfy their so called verification did they release the funds and aprove the transfer this last time. Today they blocked my transfer repeatedly asking me just now finally 13 rediculous and invasive question's both personal and about the recipient. They asked about where did u meet them, how do you know them, what's your relationship. How often do u send and the amounts your transfers will range, your source of funds, your occupation, all to which I answered none of your business. They invade your privacy so much it can't be legal and certainly isn't required by law what they ask.
Other money wire services send instantly without bugging you once they co form your account the first time and the funds are instant. They never ask the questions remitly us or strangely give accounts out, verify and transfer only to harass you when you come back to send money again. Doing nothing different or suspicious. I'm done with these people and I'm so done I will post negative reviews to warn others on every site that allows reviews just bc they are so obnoxiously inconsistent how they do things. It seems they are the ones to be looking out for acting suspicious. If it's not required, when the questions they ask you to answer after a few times dealing with them are so invasive and not necessary, it seems they aren't verifying.
They are data / profile harvesting their clients to make $$$.

Remitly made a point of entering my account without my knowledge, charged me thousands without my consent, did not provide the service I paid for and after all that, refused to send back any money. There are actually 5 pages of charges, but I could only load one here. You are not aware of the massive amount you are actually being charged until its over.

ON MAY 1st, 2023, Remitly robbed me of $1,992.00 and some change. They charged me a fortune, never sent the money, never returned it to me, nor the excessive charges nor the fees. I sent the proof to banking regulators, the Federal Trade Commission, and The Attorney General's office.
Also, they deliberately break down the charges onto small clumps, because they know that it takes between $25.00 to $50.00 for each attempt at a CHARGEBACK. This us done deliberately to prevent you from making a CHARGEBACK against their company. They are shrewd and calculating. BEWARE OF REMITLY. Do not use this company. You WILL REGRET IT.

Hi Guys. Never use Remitly app to send money... I lost lakhs of rupees which I requested a transaction for a medical emergency. Remitly took money and bever deposited. Called help desk many times. But no use. From last 4 days telling some silly reason. Getting email funds transferred but never deposited

This service was suggested by someone who blackmailed us and he literally knew the questions remitly is going to ask to make a transfer. Unless someone who is blackmailing you sending bad videos on FB and ask you to use their services you know the two teams are tied.
