I really wanted to use it, but Redshelf deleted 500 pages of my annotations without every notifying me. How could this happen if this company would be any serious with its customer base? I am not a student, I am a professorl and thought that maybe that's the way to go a little more paperless and a little cheaper for the students I teach. But after this horrible experience, take my warning: Don't bother with Redshelf, spend your money in better ways: If you value your time and your work, buy a real book or at least a different ebook.
Super irritating to navigate through my textbook. So so slow. I can barely even look up the table of contents without the it crashing and i have a brand new computer that runs solid works perfectly this program must have been made in the early 2000s.
This website is the worst for ebook.
First its ever slow, even with its offline option.
Second it doesn't have an app or anything related. You need to have wife to open it. So better to get a hard copy.
I hate it hate it. It interrupts with my study. Waste of move, time and the worst thing.
I rented an e-book that RedShelf stated on their website "This package includes MyLab Management". Guess what? It didn't. When I contacted their customer service person said that their website also states that extra materials may not be included. Listen, if the material are not included, don't state that it is. It's false advertising! I've learned my lesson and will never order from RedShelf again!
It's awful to navigate. It was so hard to get to the next chapter, add a highlight, bookmark, look up words and just load the page. It's almost completely unusable. Would not recommend.
I was extremely satisfied with the quality I received at RedShelf. I can also say that from my own experience that Victoria is the best customer service representative I have dealt with ever. She was very professional in processing my request in a timely manner. I will definitely come back to RedShelf in future and will definitely recommend it to anyone for shopping.
It's extremely frustrating to read any book on this platform. There is no app or mobile view, so it's nearly impossible to read anything unless on a computer. It constantly freezes and you have to refresh the page. It took me about twice as long to read my book as it should have. If you have the opportunity to use any other platform to read or purchase your books, I recommend you do so.
This whole thing of online reading is just horrendous! I takes geological time scales to describe the slowness of turning from one page to another. The book I am reading is very graphic and the quality of images are terrible.
I wished I spent my money on a better product.

I am taking a Biology class and was required to have the Biology Edition #3 book. Online was cheaper than a hard copy, and so I bought that. I can't access it from my computer because I can only see half the page and the small Ipad that I can access it from keeps logging me out. And now I can't even access it from that. I really dislike this site. If you want a book, get a hard copy, don't download it off of here. Also when reading it's super hard to skip around it takes forever to find something, whereas a had copy, just flip a few pages and you're there.
So sorry for the poor experience! If you're having technical trouble, please submit a request via https://solve.redshelf.com/hc/en-us/requests/new and a customer experience agent will be happy to help!
I emailed redshelf about getting a refund because i purchased the wrong book and my order was non refundable but i emailed them someone answered right away and issued me a refund honestly i will be getting all my books from here now because it is hassle free
I called 3 different departments, including corporate, to ask a basic question before purchasing a test bank for a class I am teaching. No-one answers the phone. Yes, you do get a friendly voicemail, but otherwise so much for their self-proclaimed "excellent customer service"

This garbage company seems only set on making as much money as possible from college students, which isn't something too crazy to think on. Textbooks in general are massively inflated in prices anyways. For reference, I am INDEED a college student currently getting two degrees.
But here's the main issues:
1. These morons couldn't even manage to create an actually useful manner to browse 'online' textbooks with their trash proprietary viewer. The search function takes forever to actually search, and can't even combine words to search for phrases, so enjoy getting 50 mentions of a common word in your phrase like 'the'.
2. They only allow copy-pasting up to a certain percentage of the book, which isn't necessarily an issue but is stupid since you HAVE to copy/paste in their own proprietary(stupid) way. I myself found a way around this garbage, so search for yourself how to circumvent this if you're forced to use this trash.
3. You CAN'T ACCESS THIS $#*! OFFLINE. (At least, in a way that isn't needlessly restrictive.)
These people behind this company are easily one of the main reasons why people move to pirate textbooks, beyond physical textbook prices. Search for your.pdfs before you decide to give these scam-artists your money, please. They certainly don't deserve profits for such lazy implementation, one couldn't imagine it's too difficult to copy-paste a textbook.pdf from the publisher(LMAO).
This company started out well but has gotten terrible by the years. There is no customer service and I am starting to believe that redshelf is a ripoff and I am seriously thinking about filing legal action against this company.
Students work at all times of day, many because of non-student commitments. When purchasing a text, students should have a choice to purchase a physical textbook for several reasons. It can be difficult to predict when power outages, system downtimes, internet access issues and unexpected error which prevent you from accessing your text may occur. Students may also want a printed text to keep as a resource after completing the course and RedShelf access options limit the ability to retain this information even after paid for. There should be an option to retain the book without limit even if it means paying a little more for the text.
Impossible to find clearly marked prices, You will have to jump from one site to another to figure out how much you will be charged for a book that you will not own nor will be able to consult in the future.
Impossible to "opt-out" of a book for which one was forced to buy-in.
Impossible to find customer service readily available.

This software has been the bane of my existence since the start of this semester. I bought the textbook at the start of the semester and the freezes have caused my textbook to become unusable. I legitimately cannot do coursework as a result of this software, if I scroll down any amount it freezes for upwards of 10 minutes. The freezing becomes especially bad when checking answers to textbook questions so if you already bought the book I would recommend against even trying to answer practice questions as it will be a waste of time.
This place is awesome. I rented my text book and I was drop from the waitlist and didn't get into the class and even thought it was past my time they still honored a refund! Highly recommend! Navigation super easy as well!
You literally have to have an internet connection to turn the page. I have high speed internet. The webpage takes 3-5 seconds just to flip to the next page in the textbook. If your internet goes down while you are studying you are screwed. DO NOT give your money to this company. Their website should be investigated by the FTC. Any university that uses this platform is participating in ripping off their students.
This ebook platform is the worst I've ever used. I don't understand why it takes 5+ seconds to turn a page or load the sidebar or use the search function. It doesn't matter if you have a fast Internet connection, there will always be lag. The highlight tool is finicky and unpredictable. Last night, the site experienced an error, and I actually couldn't access the textbook to study for my midterm. Its shocking how slow and dated this platform is, and it makes it extremely frustrating to navigate through a textbook to do homework.
I am unable to access my simnet e book. I contacted redshelf and they advised me to contact McGraw-Hill. (passing the buck) I contacted McGraw hill and they told me to contact the college bookstore. The college bookstore told me to contact redshelf.
Answer: It's legit, but it's HORRIBLE and should be avoided at all costs.
Answer: In theory yes - but in practice, I had problems. Your luck may vary (but I've been doing IT for more than half my life, and still work in the sector, and I think they could help themselves by improving or changing the DRM in use).
Answer: The prof of the class required we use this godawful site for our textbooks. Obviously, having a PhD doesn't mean someone is wise enough to look at reviews first.
Answer: Good luck. I've been trying to read a single chapter with only 40 pages for over 10 hours. The shit refuses to load pages in a timely manner.
RedShelf has a rating of 1.6 stars from 87 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with RedShelf most frequently mention college student and hard copy. RedShelf ranks 363rd among Books sites.
Always happy to help, Hussain! Glad to hear Victoria was able to provide a top-notch experience.
