I decided to give Quibids a try and registered. As part of the registration process they asked for credit card information, but NEVER told me that I would be charged for $ 60 worth of bids up front. I thought they wanted a credit card IN CASE I wanted to bid. Then the bogus charge showed up. When I tried to remove it, it was very difficult and could not get satisfaction from Quibids and had to contact my credit card company insist that they not pay them, which Amex did do. But it is worse than that.
I received a notification from Amex that Qubiids had charged me twice. Once was for the $ 60 that I never authorized and another $ 60 was charged for a bid that was made by some woman I never heard of for a Cuisinart machine and Quibids had sent a letter to Amex telling them that they should ignore my request to not pay them since I was responsible bids by some unknown woman with a different name than mine in a different state with a different email address for a Cuisinart machine. I called Amex and let them know that I clearly never bid on any Cuisinart machine and that I did not know this woman. Amex told me that they would ignore the Quibids request to allow that charge to go through, but I have no idea what will happen with these people going forward. I have no idea what other tricks they might have up their sleeves.
Caveat Emptor!
I had gotten on the website and was curious as to what items were up for bid. I had created a user name, password and then it came to my credit card information. While I thought this would be just for when I decided to bid on something, I went ahead and entered this info. I did not realize that the funds would be immediately deducted from my account even when I had not put any bids in. I quickly emailed the Customer Service to ask to cancel my enrollment - they responded very fast to my issue. I am waiting on the refund (which can take up to 3-5 business days), but I was impressed with their quick response!
Made a first purchase of almost 50 dollars by accident. I recieved a full refund within 3 business days
Didn't realize that registering committed me to purchasing bid point
From my observation of your active auction and reading the comments of others, I sensed more confusion than solutions and I felt this was not for me, and Customer Service was understanding, and I canceled my account. From my experience Quibid treated me fairly.
***NOTE: THIS SITEJABBER SITE MUST BE AFFILIATED BECAUSE THEY ASK FOR YOUR QBIDS ID***
If this wasn't a scam THEY WOULD TELL YOU YOU ARE BEING CHARGED $60. They PAY PEOPLE $24 to link you into this scam and get your $60.
You never are told you are authorizing a $60 purchase. What if that's someone's grocery money?
This outfit was recommended as an affiliate for my website from another company I'm questioning highly at this point. I checked it out in advance before putting a link on my site and POW they charged $60 immediately to my card for "bids" which I didn't even know there was a charge FOR.
Every single bid costs you $. 60.
You have to bid MANY MANY TIMES to get an item.
If you run out of bids YOU JUST LOSE THE ITEM ANYWAY. I figured I would be paying about $70 for a $40 item after I was run through the mill.
Even after figuring out how to ask for a refund they STILL SAID THEY WOULD KEEP THE BID MONEY. Why would I want to pay THEM to click twice on one item I didn't get. Seriously? This is a really scummy way to earn a living.
USE EBAY AND FORGET THIS PLACE.
IF IT WAS LEGIT THEY WOULDN'T HAVE TO HIDE THE $60 CHARGE.
Hi Elysha. First, the $60 charge is for the starter bid pack (100 bids at $0.60/each). This is clearly stated on the purchase page when you enter your credit card info. Also, we never made a claim that our site operates like eBay. In fact, we have written numerous posts about how we are different (here's one of them: http://blog.quibids.com/7-ways-quibids-is-different-from-ebay/)
Also, we strongly encourage all new users to read the helpful information on QuiBids 101 and the Help Sections on our site. This will better set you up for success by helping you understand how our model works. If you don't know how we work, you are at risk of bidding recklessly and losing out on potential savings.
With that said, we are happy to refund the unused bids in your account. Please contact us at support@quibids.com and we'll get your refund started. Thanks!
Customer support very prompt responding to a concern with billing. Web design at registration needs simplified with billing details more readily visible. Overall, satisfied with QuiBids communication and response.
My mistake! Made a deposit of $60.00 without realizing it. Asked for a refund and got it spot on.
Thanks
I accidentally signed up for QuiBids not realizing you were charged a fee before actually bidding, but thanks to the wonderful customer service they quickly had my monies returned and explained that there was a one time fee to join and then you can bid at any time after that. I will definitely definitely join in the future because of the honesty that was shown. Keep your excellent customer service, I was very impressed!
I had a technical issue when I was in a high bidding auction which inevitably, I lost the auction. They promptly answered my concerns and not only understood my concerns and anxiety but proceeded to reimburse all my bids and vouchers with a couple extra and wished me luck with my next auction.
I thought it was going to be a battle, it was a nice surprise after the jaw dropping loss!
I 'experimented' with QuiBids for just a couple of days. I wasn't able to view the QuiBids 101 video due to computer problems, and I'm sure it would have helped. Adding a print version to the website is something that the company should think about. Without that instruction I fumbled a bit, but eventually got comfortable submitting bids. That part of the process couldn't have been easier!
I may be wrong, but somewhere on the website I think that I saw a sentence stating that 'QuiBids is not gambling'. I disagree. In its purest form, gambling is spending money in hopes of attaining something of greater value than the amount spent. With bids costing 60 cents, users are gambling when bidding.
I am a compulsive gambler, and have (had) not made a bet in almost 11 years. Making bids on QuiBids IS gambling, and I urge others like me to stay away.
This is not the fault of QuiBids by any means; I'm just saying that for a person with no spending control, this is not the website for you.
Thank you for accommodating me, and all of the great items shipped so far!
Their was a charge for $60.00 on my visa. Was concerned as i still do not know why. Anyway i sent a e-mail and was refunded... i still do not know why the 60,00 charge which is a bit confusing... i also wrote asking that? And have not heard back.
Clearing the issue of an item I did not receive was handled with very professional, knowlegible and friendly people!
You all are great. Please review earlier comments... they have not changed
Your site was recommended to me, it is always very exciting
I tried bidding and came very close to winning, however, I ended up purchasing my mixer through quibid at a discount I was ok with. I was bidding on this item a long time which is the process if you want to win, but I don't have that kind of time so I will most likely not bid again... not sure.
DIDN'T LIKE CHARGING ME FOR THE 100 BIDS WITHOUT TELLING ME BEFORE I SIGNED UP. WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO BUY SMALLER AMOUNTS SINCE I AM A BEGINNER. ALSO I FELT THAT I WAS GOING AGAINST PRO'S. JUST DIDN'T FEEL THAT I HAD A CHANCE OF WINNING A BID ON LARGE ITEMS. ALSO NOT NICE TO NOT HAVE A EASY TO FIND PHONE NUMBER, KIND OF COLD YA KNOW.
Hi C.
We have beginner auctions that are soley for new bidders so they don't have to start off against the more experienced bidders. We recommend checking these out before jumping into the bigger auctions. Also, we are sorry to hear that you didn't know about the starter purchase pack you purchased when entering your credit card info on the first purchase page. We are happy to offer a full refund for your unused bids. Just contact us at support@quibids.com and we'll get that started for you. Thanks!
Answer: Yes like Gary O said, $60 buys your first 100 bids. Seems like a lot but after that you can buy 25 bids for $15. Best investment I ever made!
Answer: When you sign up, to be able to bid, you must purchase bids and the first bid pack is 100 bids for $60. People simply do not read. I would ask them why they think they give their credit card number just to sign up. I've read the information and it's pretty clear. I've been using QuiBIds for going on 3 years and I love it. When you sign up there will be at the top that is labeled "QuiBids 101". If you do sign up, be sure to read QuiBids 101 before you begin bidding. It's very helpful.
Answer: Hi Madeline, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't aware you were purchasing the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60.00 when entering your credit card info on the purchase page. The good news is they will offer a full refund for any of your unused bids. Just send them an email at support@quibids.com and they will be happy to assist you. They are very supportive and want to make sure you are satisfied.
Hi Rich. It sounds like you purchased the starter bid package of 100 bids for $60 (at $0.60/each) when you entered your credit card info on the purchase page. We can assure you that this page clearly states what you are entering your credit card information to purchase. With that said, we offer full refunds for unused bids in your account. Since you didn't provide an order number or account info, we can't look into your specific details, but it sounds like a portion of your bids were used on a Cuisinart item. Unfortunately we can't refund bids that are used in auctions because they ultimately affect the outcome of auctions and it wouldn't be fair to other participants who you were bidding against. Please send us a private message here, or reach out to us at support@quibids.com and we'll be happy to issue a refund for the remaining bids in your account, or we can explain any detail of our site so you can have a better understanding. Regardless, we appreciate that you took the time to leave your feedback here. Have a great day!
