First of all, I would love to have given my collegue a reference. An employee from pre-emply.com left a message with instructions. To give a reference, go online to Pre-employ.com/results. Select reference results. Number 150._-----. Or call..*******6573.
Well, the 1-800 is only 9-5, I assume, because no one answered, yet I was on hold with music for 5 minutes and told, no one is available to take my call. The web address does not exist. Instructions are NON-EXECUTABLE. Wth is wrong with this company? People's CAREERS are dependent on you?! WTF!

Had a horrible experience working with Pre Employ when my potential employer used Pre Employ for my background check. These people seem to have zero idea of what they are doing. Extremely unprofessional. Keep asking for info via email - the info that was already uploaded on their portal by me. Very very annoying and irritating. Cancelled my background check through their own mistake and then created a new one. Again started requesting the same f****** info via email again and again. They use threatening tactics in their e-mails, saying that if the info is not received by this date, then your background check might get cancelled or delayed. The info that had already been submitted to them. Incompetent group of people who are playing an active role in making potential employees' lives a mess.
I strongly recommend Against using them for your hiring needs.

I paid $50 to do a background check on myself and got nothing.
While providing all the info they need to do an accurate screening, never once did they ask what city or county you'd like to have checked.
They ask current address and previous address which I gave them and that's the area the background checked covered.
I lived in los angles and got arrested a couple times. Did my time, learned my lesson and moved on down to San Diego. Stayed in San Diego for 4 years then just recently (2 months) moved to Oklahoma. For the $50 preemploy states they will check two locations which is great but when they never ask you what locations you'd like them to scan your name for and only ask current and previous address then scan those. Now I've contacted them and no one is available to assist and I feel I've been ripped off.

The company used this third party reference firm because they had no HR (red flag one) so none of my references knew who this company was (PreEmploy) they were expecting X company to call as my reference not some random place they never heard of. One reference does cyber security so when a different company called for information about me, she refused to give any as expected since it wasn't who she expected to be calling. The PreEmploy place did not even try to schedule with my reference to discuss info, just cold call at random times demanding info in a very impersonal way. I've ran my own business for 10 years and I tried to explain I'm not W2 but 1099 and my references were companies / people I had contracts with. PreEmploy did not understand this so they wasted time with my references like "why doesn't she work there anymore?" Well I technically never worked there, we have a contract together that if the works aligns we seek each other out again for future business. PreEmploy simply does not grasp running background checks, HR substitution, and all around sound like a weird internet jail calling.

Avoid. Save your money.

I don't usually write reviews about companies and their service, despite the lack thereof, but Pre-Employ.com rubbed me in an oh so special way. I requested a background check from Pre-Employ on Tuesday the 25th and promised the report would be made available within 3-5 business days. After five business days I called and requested the background check, they supplied me with an excuse and promised I would have it within 24 hours... I did not.

Finally, after eight business days (ten calendar days) I give up and request a refund. Not two hours after my call, I get a callback from the company informing me that they have sent me my requested background check. I check my email, nothing there. I tell them they are misinformed and that I would like my refund. The lady refused and resent an email granting me access to my background check. At 5:26 pm PST I receive an email confirmation resetting my password. I explain to the nice lady that the services were not provided in the time period I was promised and with this being a time sensitive issue I would not pay for information which was no longer necessary. She once again refused my request for a refund and we arrive at the point we are at now... one disgruntled customer, who will never use this companies service again, and with any luck neither will any of you, and Pre-Employ.com, who, despite their insistence they would not be providing me with a refund, has just lost the $60 I paid them since my credit card company took care of the refund for me and will dispute the charge on my behalf.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid using this company for the sheer lack of customer service. Took me 2 hours to get someone on the phone to request a refund, however it was only to deny my request.
