Top Critical Review

“You can tell it's made by the same people who bring you the Star, Mirror and Express.”

James A J.
10/4/23

Badly optimized, poorly written, and riddled with spelling and grammatical errors, Plymouth Live (and ReachPLC in general) has to be one of the worst examples of journalism in the UK. Time and time again, they have published unsubstantiated stories. The use of hyperbolic language in headlines and articles, along with the incorporation of local colloquialisms and, at times, terrible spelling and grammar, generally result in a pretty embarrassing and dreadful reading experience. On top of that, there's an oppressive advertisement system that essentially locks up any mobile or tablet device when trying to access the website, making it one of the worst online experiences. Furthermore, when users attempt to share views, comments, and opinions in the poorly designed (and seldom functional) comments section, comments that are critical of the above or the article structure are deleted, and at times, the entire comments section is disabled.

This must be the worst website EVER! Extremely slow, many errors, frequent broken links and worst of all an obscene number of advertisements crammed into every spare millimeter of space. On a touch screen like an IPad, tablet or surface, you get increasingly frustrated as you can't help but accidently click these ads, sending you off on a mystery tour of casino sites etc.
Avoid!
