This company scammed me. I signed up for one price, paid it via a credit card, and then they charged me for an upsell that I didn't sign up for. Their customer service refused to refund the purchase and then proceeded to ignore my emails and phone call. They continue to charge my credit card. It's become a nightmare. My only recommendation is to avoid them. I wish I had never heard of them, let alone given them my credit card.

I strongly advise against using this service. They operate on an abusive subscription model. I canceled my subscription after paying the initial 1 euro, but they still debited 50 euros from my account without authorization. PDF Guru and Best PDG are the same people!DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY OF YOUR DETAILS! They will automatically sign you up and start billing you without your consent. I paid the $1.99 and got no where with it and then days down the road, I find an charge for $83.00 AUD on my bank account. I contacted Customer Service and they did refund my money without a problem and telling me I didn't cancel my subscription in time. Luckily the refunded my money that day. BUT, the next day, same bull $#*! only it was with Best PDF which I didn't even know about ( I didn't sign up for that one either), this time for $39.00! Again, I contacted Customer Service and at first they tried to deny my refund saying I didn't cancel in time. And, they mentioned my complaint on PDF Guru so obviously they are the same company. So, I threatened to turn them into the Better Business Bureau and that I would slam them on every scam site reviews I could find. That got their attention. They refunded my money right away. If this happens to you, don't let them get away without refunding your money. Get tough with them and don't take no for an answer. Don't let them push you around. They are counting on people not checking out their charges if the first one is cancelled they hit you with the Best PDF.

I had a terrible experience with PDF Guru. They charged my account $499.99 without my consent, and I never even subscribed to their service. This is completely unacceptable and feels like a deliberate scam.

I brought a weeks usage last week. It wasn't made clear about the subscription after that. I then had £49.99 come out of my account. I emailed them, received a long email back offering me a lifetime subscription. I told them I just wanted a refund. No reply. So I emailed again later, no reply. Emailed again the next dat. No reply. So I oped another enquiry with them and was told they don't refund online payments. I relied, and guess what- NO REPLY AGAIN! And then I find an email from 6 days previous to say my subscription was cancelled. So I'm down £49.99, with no subscription, no luck with a refund and I'm being ignored! Utterly disgusting customer service!

Unfortunately, pdfguru appears to be engaging in fraudulent practices, as reported by numerous individuals on various review websites. I, too, have fallen victim to their unauthorized billing.
On 1 August 2024 I completed a one-time payment online for $1.52 to pdfguru.com to convert a file from pdf to Word.
On the following dates, they charged me recurring fees for a "subscription" I never authorized, as follows:
07 Aug 2024: $76.77
06 September 2024: $73.99
06 October 2024: $72.54
31 October 2024: $76.51
I only discovered the fraud on October 31,2024, as I hadn't been regularly reviewing my bank statements.
Since then, I have reported pdfguru to the Australian Federal Police, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, and the Cyber Crime Authority in Australia, with the hope of recovering the funds that were unlawfully debited from my credit card account.

I signed up for PDF Guru thinking I was getting a low-cost or trial PDF service. Without my clear consent, I was charged **\$73 CAD per month** for four consecutive months – totaling nearly **\$300**. I converted a file from pdf to word for 2.99, so far it went well. Later I saw that these scammers were taking 49.99 per month from my credit card. Without any permission. Easy money. Keep your distance from these scammers

Not only is the service ridiculously priced at USD 50 per month however they will also not notify you when your card is being charged.
When I picked up the charge and asked for a refund one day later they also refused to provide a refund.
I highly recommend never using this company.

I used pdfguru, paying via PayPal a one-time fee of €1.09 to convert a medical test file. After 10 days I was very surprised to found that another €49.99 was taken from my account. I have scrutinized all the correspondence on the matter and found it to be very misleading. The consumer requests some specific service and initially pays a small amount, having the impression that it is a one-time fee for the particular service. Then he or she receives welcome email and order confirmation email. In the most common case, one does not read such emails in detail, because it is clear what they contain. But in this particular case, this practice was deftly used by those who conceived pdfguru, because the confirmation of the order is where it is written that, unless within a week you cancel, you subscribe to their services with a monthly fee of 49.99 euros. Formally, everything is legal. In fact, many users quite naturally skip this text and after a week they are legally charged 49.99 euro. This was my case too.
I exercised the right of citizens of the European Union to withdraw from the contract within 14 days and received an immediate refund.
