I used PDFGuru to edit a document and paid for their service. I opted out afterward, not knowing they had a hidden policy designed to scam people. Eight days later, they withdrew 49.99 euros from the card I used, claiming that when you use their service and pay within 7 days, they automatically convert you into a subscriber and charge you 49.99 euros.
After unauthorizedly withdrawing the money from my account, they used another company, Adbraze.com, to withdraw an additional 49.99 euros the same day, within 4 hours. Upon investigation, I found that this company is located in the same city as PDFGuru, Nicosia in Cyprus.
I contacted them to request a refund, but they refused and denied the fraudulent activity they committed. Do not use their site; they are operated by scammers who will steal your credit card information and possibly sell it on the black market. Google should blacklist this site.
You think you are paying a one off fee of $1.99 to convert a PDF file and a week later end up with a $49.99 subscription charge. Check you junk mail for their dodgy order confirmation that notifies you that you have in fact signed up for a 7 day introductory offer and after 7 days you will be automatically charged $49.99 per month. SNEAKY, DISHONEST marketing - stay well away!

Same here. Small letters in email, charged 40+ dollar without consent. At first they said charge for the first time only, after 1 months they simply deduct. Beware please beware. Do not ever use PdF guru.
Mine was worst. I used 2 times, mistakenly registered using 2 diff accounts, paid 1.99 both times. And they charge me double because 2 different accounts, I tried to log into both accounts but did not work. They even said this account previously have been registered as bla bla bla but still charged double. The fish

Definitely a scam! Tricks you with thinking you are being charged a ONE time fee of just 99 cents then charges 49.99 for a subscription. Do not use pdf guru if you do not want to be out of money you didn't plan on spending for a horrible experience.

I paid 1 dollar to merge some pdf files one time only, after a month the company deducted 50 dollars, when I enquired for the reason I was informed by their customer service that you subscribed to a month membership with us, I do not recall seeing any clause when I initially paid for the merger of those pdf files nor made any other request afterwards, I asked for a refund but the company refused saying that this is their policy, so for whoever is reading this please make sure you don't fall for the same trap.

Terrible service. Claim to convert pdf to word, however when I uploaded a pdf to convert, they force you to pay first without showing you the result. The result as to no surprise was useless. It just pasted pdf pages as Images into word document. And they refused to refund the money.

I was only editing a PDF file, but they sold me a monthly subscription of US$ 45.99 without my authorization or consent, and charged me the first month's fee through PayPal, though I paid for editing the PDF US$.99 as well. I never received the product (subscription) value of US$ 45.99
There are flaws in their process. They pretend that creating or editing PDF files is free, but they charge, and their charges are in US dollars though I am in Australia.
I used PayPal only to avoid this type of situation. I trusted PayPal. I didn't authorize to pay US$45.99.

This business tricks people into paying for a subscription. The trial lasts 7 days and then you are supposed to cancel it 24 hours in advance of the end. By doing this, you end up paying for the sub. It is written in VERY SMALL letters on the website - not noticeable. Pathetic way to do business.

PDF guru charges 0.99$ which is a subscription fee then they end up saying something about $49.99 in a very small font so they can take recurring funds none refundable I am so not pleased especially because the features I needed were useless to me I am so never subscribing to anything in future. You're charged €0.99 for a trial, and then suddenly billed €50 every month. In my case, I only realized this after 9 months — that's €450 lost for a service I never used. Platforms like this should be banned. Avoid at all costs.

I needed a form and paid $0.99 to get it and a week later they took $50 from my account. They are refusing to give me a refund when I NEVER signed up for any subscription! This is absolutely unacceptable! I will never use them for any future needs and will let everyone i know to not use them either!

Similar experience to previous reviewers below. Did a single file conversion for USD1 and once they have your bank details, they sign you up for a monthly trial plan of USD50 without your consent. When you receive the charge 7 days later, they claim you didn't cancel the trial and the first month charge of $50 is non refundable. All emails to them are replied with automated messages saying they cannot refund. Your best approach is to open a dispute with your bank to reverse the charges.

This website is a scam! They say you can sign up for a one time use account for seven days for $1.99, then they charge you without notice a week later that you'll be charged $49.99 for a one year subscription a week later! I disputed the transaction with my payment processor & they wouldn't give me a refund, claiming the company did nothing wrong! I emailed the company and they won't issue a refund either. I read reviews too late that they scam people this way all the time and that people who've used their credit cards with this company's website suddenly have unauthorized charges appear on their accounts! Do not use their service! Very dishonest and definitely not customer service friendly
