Panera Bread is my go-to spot for delicious and wholesome meals. I appreciate their commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients in their soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. First, panera has some good food, but lately they have driven the bus downhill. They have removed many of the best items from the menu. Go take a look, the pastry section is all but no existent, where there used to be 5 kinds of muffins, well let's say no there isn't. Sandwiches and soup choices are less, but this is not my main concern. I was looking to purchase a gift card for CHRISTMAS but I could not find one that said Christmas, oh sure I could find cards that wanted to celebrate other holidays at this time from the middle east but NO Christmas. Panera, if your heart is with the middle east, Move! In America, Jesus Is King and Christmas is celebrated and we don't refer to it as the holidays. Wake up don't be woke.

I m new to the state of Arizona. I usually frequent Panera Bread with a positive outcome.The ones I visited within the state of Arizona are not friendly to people of color, upon visiting the cafes they never ever make me feel comfortable, mostly persons of color are treated like out cast, specifics if you are a person of color. I had one of the managers at the Camel Back location in Phoenix AZ, manager Alisa attempt to become aggressive to me and purposely mess my order up. This has happened on more than one occasion, the company has discriminatory issues, if you are a person of color use caution in Arizona if you are attempting to become a customer at Panera Bread.The company is not a racially equal company in its dealing with persons of color.

Tip for consumers:
Be careful if you are an African American with this company,unprofessional staff.

I started working at Panera Bread a few months ago. I can say least it has been challenging. I applied for full time line cook. I was offered the front in. We're because the store is low end of profits. I'm told only one person in the front. To take care of every customer who comes in. All while cleaning and bussing tables cleaning bubblers bathrooms making coffee every hour. Doing all pastry orders cutting all bread and bagging. Stocking all supplies.Whilenever keeping a customer waiting. The floor plan on this store you cannot do any of that work and see if customer comes in. So about every 30 sec you got to walk back and forth to check for customer. So I feel if customer had to wait it would be 30 sec. But some times customer comes in and you just walked back they would wait approx 30sec. But One particular mang. Would be very rude when telling me someone was up front. No other mang acted so unprofessional. I had twice the" customer"apologize to me for my mang rudeness to me. They would say" I'm so sorry you have to deal with that. " The customers were amazing if they had to wait few sec till I put down what I was doing to help them. If I had a question about something unsure of. Its a bit hard to remember everything in couple training days. And something you have to come across to learn. But this particular manager does not like me. Never met her before this job. She constantly watched every move I made. So was always doing my best as quickly as possible. Was told by other employee that worked closest to me, that he had never seen any body work as hard and actually doing the work, in the intire year he had worked there. Most of the employees if not all were in there 20s and I in my fifties. He said I still worked harder and never sit around talking like they do. So in reality I can kinda see why I was bullied like a high school out cast. But please... Just tell me it's not working out and let me go. No that manager rather enjoyed bulling me. I stayed completely professional, until it poured out to the customers and they began bulling as well. The customers who were her personal friends only. She constantly criticized my work. Which the place looked so much better because of me. When I was off work few days and come back it was terrible again. If I asked question she maid me feel like I had learning disability mentally. By using the word duh! In all my days training not once did they show me all the stuff I was responsible for. Because there is not enough time to do all of it. So granted I had questions and was scolded for not doing something I should have been trained to do, that I was never shown or told it was my responsibility. Never told times that they have to be done. Was told I'm not fast enough getting the work done. I never stopped working to talk unless was manager. I walked rather fast every were in the store. They say have cameras. And was watched continually. Who ever could clearly see u worked hard and quickly. Was told did good job by every one. But one manager I guess felt she had to bully me like a grade school kid. Hurt my feelings by referring to me as mentally challenged. Also once and last time referring to me as the" help, " her exact words were. " Like in the movie " the help" with a customer right in front of me waiting on that customer. As they laughed. At that point I took off my aprin and hat and walked out the door leaving her to complete my tasks for that shift. I did not feel I needed to work for someone who is so disrespectful to me and some customers. Well I think she thought they was a personal friend of mine. But never seen any customer before working there. She wasn't treating my friend bad it was a customer I'd never met. At that point I apologized to them for her. She in my opinion and a few customers. She has no professional skills of working with the public. And could very well be reason they are not a higher end store. I never see any one washing their hands there. We're clearly you are washing always when working in a food establishment. The next day called the main manager to explain why I never came to her or why I left the job quiting for good. She said, ok and hung up on me. And that is exactly why I did not go to her with complaint was told she wouldn't listen and id just be fired. So In few worlds. It is ran unprofessional. It is dirty and not cleaned properly for food establishment. Terrible customer service skills. After first couple days. I would not take my family there to eat. They give you one hour after licking doors to get done. It normally have two people do my area. Complained I didn't get it done fast enough. While continuing to give me extra tasks. The place clearly looked better when I worked. Every time I came on shift. Everything was out needed stocked but worse every table would be dirty in the store. So if their were customers I had to just leave it and they have no clean table to sit. What kind of employee leaves there job looking such a mess for next person. Not me. I am embarrassed several times and treated so poorly. Adult bulling is so ignorant. Thank you for your time. I wouldn't let my children work their. I will tell my friends and family about their cleaning abilities. So won't be back there or any body I know will go there again. Needs help and redo entire staff. Except April. Who I felt was the only professional mang. They had. Sorry April if this caused you any difficulties. I had to go. I don't deserve the treatment. And she no longer going to. I was the mature adult and walked away. And this is only way I could speak my side. Cause I was not allowed. Not a place I' was proud of to work. Because of cleanliness. And professionalism. Just so you all know. Adult bulling at age 50+ is why I quit. Disrespect was not part of my job description. And I won't tolerate it! Closing the door to this issue. Thank you! And have a great day!
