Received a solicitation letter stating my property is overassessed by $15,000. Signed up with them to appeal the value to the Cook County Assessor. A day and a half before appeal deadline I was sent an email stating property is assessed correctly. I gave them 4 properties on the next block that are assessed lower than mine. Properties are the same as mine, build by the same builder in the same year as mine. Guess they just pick a lower value to get you to signup which I did a few days after receiving the letter. They had plenty of time to tell me they weren't going to file

Ownwell doesn't offer any services in Georgia that are not already available directly from your county tax office at no charge. Call or check your county website for a list of paperwork you will need, like Federal/State income tax papers and proof of residence. Your local county office will make sure you pay the lowest tax possible. I am retired with limited income and my taxes went from $2500/year to $300/year after I visited my DeKalb office.

Zero savings when every neighbor saved between 15-47%. My 75 year old neighbor video conferenced directly with county and saved over $******* in taxable value, so no excuse. I gave them all research from neighbors. I don't believe they even showed up for hearing. I had to contact them about the date. Too many better choices, they cost me thousands by not reducing my taxes. They needed to provide comps but they failed to do so.

My Neighbor got a better deal attending the hearing himself. Ownwell didnt keep any track, I had to followup with them again and again for a copy paste reply. Even when the appeal was complete, they told me its still in progress, we made a big mistake going to them, dont do it.

I have been using Ownwell for years and am completely happy and satisfied. I have found them to be on my side at all times and always honest with me. I thank them for the money they save me almost every year (yes, I turn to them ever year to evaluate my property taxes). Ownwell messed up my property's Appraised Value increase instead decrease. Ownwell did not save me money on my property tax I should not pay anything to Ownwell. That is in Ownwell's advertisement. How come Ownwell billed me the invoice? Their staff are unprofessional for doing property appraised Value agents.

This is a fraudulent company. There are no savings. Stay away from these criminals. They just send letters to home owners and just collect amount.

Obviously a scam! Anyone that falls for this must believe in the tooth fairy.
If it sounds too good to be true… it's a scam!
