Worst coverage of any sporting event or olympics I have ever seen. Have watched more minutes of commercials than of events. Listings show events but when you tune in at that time, they are showing some other event. When twice I actually saw the event I wanted to see, NBC showed part of it then informs me that I an watch the rest on Peacock... wtf. This is NOT coverage, it is "lets sell advertising and Peacock subscriptions" I now really worry about NBC having superbowl. I expect the first quarter on NBC, 2nd quarter on usa but when you tune in to usa you get half time show after which announcer will tell you second half to be broadcast live on Peacock
I am disappointed not to have more Asian American broadcasters and athletes voices. Why do you have non-Japanese and British announcers introducing us to Japanese culture. Please amplify and uplift our Japanese Americans both living in Japan and in the USA.
Can't believe that if I want to see if Redmond Gerard wins the gold in Men's Slopestyle Snowboarding live, I have to pay for Peacock Premium. Really unacceptable. I suppose the American Ninja Warrior repeat, the poker tour and other lame "sports" that are on NBC's plethora of stations are raking in the ratings. It's really disappointing. If you are going to commit to covering the Olympics - - cover it.
Appreciate Mike Tirico's coverage.
Focus on "tricks" and not on skill or style. Where was the speed skating. Most boring coverage ever.
Watching the women's short track skiing: Greedy NBC is splitting the screen 60% / 40% to run long strings of commercials during live competition! Because of their larger portion of the screen, the commercials totally the audio of the games and take away the ability of viewers to see the Olympic action's scoring results. UNBELIEVABLY incompetent broadcasting. NBC is clearly the greediest Olympic coverage network of all time. I will never again watch their network for any sports coverage. Grrrr!
Wondering why NBC couldn't find an American commentator for our Olympics?! I find it annoying that Rebecca is anchoring our Olympics. I feel like I am watching BBC news. NBC- get with it.
When watching sports like snowboard half pipe and more than half the screen is waster or commercials, who are you kidding? Cut of talking heads and replay if your short on time!
They say they are working on it, but how do you ignore Apple users before the most important sports broadcasts in 5 years! AppleTV remote controls are disabled for all replay and live broadcasts on the NBCOlympics.com app. Yikes! No stop, no jump, no rewind and if you discontinue a replay for any reason, you have to start at the beginning. For most 2-3 hour events, this is obsurd. BTW, the ads actually interrupt play. Could it be advertising dollars greed at work? Doubtful, as the engineering misstep is just too egregious. I complained to Apple that NBC is ripping off its customers. Maybe that will help. ~ErgonomicsDr
There was supposedly be a USA VS AUSTRALIA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ON channel NBCSHD, Instead there's beach volleyball men's Roc vs Mex. Typical NBC can't get their act together, bias against women's sports! Shame on them!
Worst coverage in memory. Too many comercials. Yes it takes 28+ minutes but still has strategy. They did a split screen with no sound. It was a waist of effort in my opinion.
Isnt it enough that the current political climate of the world is in turmoil? Do we have to make it worse by mentioning political atrocities as different countries march into the stadium during the opening ceremonies. This is supposed to be about athletic competition on a global scale... however the NBC commentary is anything but and creates more of a stressful and emotionally draining viewing experience for everyone involved! Having two people on (one Chinese, one American) to amplify the situations even further just made it worse. Why not interview some athletes from different countries highlighting their struggles with training, traveling or success stories? Shame on you NBC... in addition,
1. Why even mention Putin and Ukraine... so unnecessary!
2. Do you have to announce that certain countries "have not won a gold medal since 1938"? Focus on the positive... don't belittle the countries or the athletes... we (USA) sound like such snobs.
3. I'm in the middle of the opening and the commentary is even worse regarding the above comments I have already outlined.
4. Do your homework about one athlete from each country and your broadcast becomes positive, intriguing and full of humanity!
Please ask them not to trash the Ollympics with politics and personal miss-informed word throwing on the Chinese. If the 2022 Winter Olympics were held in Germany, the NBC hosts would hit the Germans with Nazi remarks and personal view point, Germans are not Nazis, and I would not want you to talk about what I feel during the Olympics in my country, if I was Chinese, or any other country for that matter.
Please filter out the background announcements ASAP. We can't understand a thing on what the announcer is saying on majority of events. This coverage is the worst I've experienced from NBC
The political statements given during the Olympic coverage was extremely distasteful. I want to watch the Olympics and not listen to distasteful political narrative.
So frustrating trying to enjoy these Olympics! More commercials than anything else! The split screen view is horrible! I get up and leave.
Why in the world would NBC have a British announcer to host the Olympics? There are many great American announcers, women especially, who would do a wonderful job.
We arent seeing races and full events. I dont want to hear who won I want to see it. Too many commercials. Too much warm ups. Too little of the events!
There is no flow nothing but commercials can't even get score in women snow boarders with out commercials horrible coverage evert night
I don't think you have any idea that we cannot hear anything you commentators are saying. The music is great.
Could you please tell Tara Lapinski and Johnny Weir not to talk so much, I can't hear the music or enjoy the performance.
Thank you
