I don't know how much can be said about memory. Both my wife and I had laptops with 4GB of memory which was a little on the slow side. During the virus situation, it's a bit harder to come by a new laptop, so we decided to upgrade the ones we had. I ordered two of these. Even though it looked like the shipping date was far off, they arrived in less than a week. It was super easy to install the one on my wife's laptop. I just opened a cover on the back and popped it in. My laptop was a bit tougher. I had to disassemble it and take the motherboard out to install it on the bottom side, but it wasn't too bad. I have no idea how the memory will perform over time, but so far it seems good. My computer is less laggy than before. I would recommend this upgrade if your laptop is in good shape
