The property manager at the Minnesota Main Street Renewal location has purposeful intent to defraud tenants on the lease and when she does default on the rental lease agreement and she will, you are left with nothing than likely a big mess, false move out reports, property damages and lots of headaches to deal with.
Many of the homes this company has for rent are falling apart, major leaks, issues with bed bugs, mice, spiders The list goes on and on.
She takes advantage of lower income/section 8 tenants. Ms. Upton needs to be forced out of this field.
There are too many other property management companies that have a good reputation. Take the time to find one and stay far, far away from Main Street Renewal.
Only giving one star because zero or negative stars isn't an option. This company is an absolute joke. Please listen to me and don't even consider renting from them. I could write a book longer than the entire Harry Potter series about how awful this experience has been. Again, please don't even consider renting from them.
This rental company is the WORST. They tried to evict us wrongfully-had to get lawyer involved. Now they are trying to keep our deposit. We gave them our notice to vacate 10/31/22 and got a collections letter for November and part of December. So now we have to fight with them about this. We are good renters, paid before rent was due, we leave house in ready to move in conditions. Never had any trouble from us. This has stressed us so much.
This company is horrible. They added fees to my dads lease without his knowledge and try to evict so they can charge a higher rent. Trying to capitalize on a disabled person who has not missed one rent payment. Do not rent from them. And Mary who works in collections thought it was funny and refused to help him. Disgusting people

Awful customer service (never late for rent) maintenance issues from the day of move in! Issue completed the last month of the year lease. Thats correct taken a year to complete maintenance issues. Charges for appointments that were never made let alone confirmed. No remedy for tenants. No honor or integrity from employees, missing items when mainstreet renewal employee had left
MS Renewal is nearly a scam. They don't honor their agreement, refuse to return calls requested from supervisors, and fail to repair items. We had sewage backing up into our house for nearly five weeks before they fixed the problem. Our irrigation system had broken pipes in many places the day we moved in. The timer box has never worked. They refuse to repair them but insist we are responsible for these repairs. Our garage opener didn't work for four weeks before they agreed to fix it. They employ many people that can barely speak English. It seems they have offices but no one works in them. We have a problem with our A/C system but they can't seem to have time to fix it. Stay away from these people. They are threatening, have terrible I. T. systems in place, and only want your money. Once they have you under contract they don't seem to want anything else to do with you. There are many better options than Main Street Renewal.

Frequent calls to the company get the same response from someone reading from a script. " We will send an email". Big deal. Like that does any good. Supervisors do not return calls and you cannot talk to anyone beyond the person answering the phone.

I'm not the one to bash or even ever left a review prior to this. This company is a laugh. They dragged me out for two weeks then somehow lose half the application with my partners info and now inform me I need to re apply after hours and hours or waiting to even get in contact. How are these people even in business? This is hurting people more than helping. A total of 3 weeks now it will have been for a application approval? Bull$#*!
What a joke! Poorest customer service I've ever seen. My daughter has been in her unit for 10 of her 12 month lease and YESTERDAY was the first day that all of her appliances worked. You can NEVER talk to who you need to; always the same "we're sorry for this issue. We'll have to forward it on to the proper department…" Newsflash, they have no proper departments apparently! Do not rent with them. Keep looking.

We tried to work with this company to find a rental for over 2 months. Every agent says something different and there is zero clear communication between their staff/agents. As soon as they say they have what they need to rent you a property and something comes available you might hear from them a week later saying oh we need something else from you. So glad we won't be needing to deal with this company and I recommend to anyone with a rental to lease or looking for a place to look elsewhere. We've had great success without using the company of Main Street Renewal of Louisville.

I tried to rent a home from this company. Oddly enough this is the same company that currently manages the apartment complex that I live in and have been rent for 4 years! But I applied for 3 different homes. 2 of which I was definitely qualified for. An email was sent from a third party which did not contain any information regarding the reason why my application was denied. When I called the company they could not tell me the reason for my denial. Just a complete waste of money and time…. Based on the reviews I guess I dodged a bullet!
The absolute worst rental company! Please Please Please do not rent from these scam artists! They will not repair small or major issues. They will charge you 3,4, and 5 times for the same bill. They will NOT answer your calls in an emergency situation! For Example; Your Fuse box blows in the heat of summer leaving you with completely no power, for over 5 days... They refuse to fix it, or relocate you because well they won't answer the phone for you the tenant or the Electrician. Only after you get the media news outlets involved, do they respond... By respond I mean, they tell you they will barely fix it, and not give you any concessions for the 5 days of lost power, lost food, and lost income, from an issue that could have been easily fixed in a few hours. Check out all the other horrible reviews before you rent from this absolute turd of a company!
Renting an lemon. Main water line leak. Can't run any water. Just moved in today. It flooded parts of my house where line is and dk when or if they will fix. They definitely knew about leak and rented out. Any suggestions? I called and reported tonight.

This company is absolutely pathetic. Me and my fiance over qualify for these homes and we were denied after 12 hours of sending in an application. Paid 100 dollars as well. I called right away and they said I'd have to wait 3-5 business days for a reason and talk to the screening company as to why I may have been denied. Screening company said everything was perfect they don't know why we were denied. So I waited 6 business days and called back, because go figure, still no email for a reason why I was denied. They said hmm that's weird we will escalate your issue because you should know already, you just have to wait another 3-5 business days. I will NEVER buy through this company, they are a scam and will never resolve your issues. By the way, still never heard back from them. Do NOT USE THIS COMPANY

I went a week without air, left the house immaculate, they want to keep my deposit and charge me 400 extra on false charges. I gave them 30 days notice after two years of paying my rent on time with poor maintenance. They changed the locks and all and charged me a months rent, late fee and kept my deposit. From what I read they never return deposits. Again run don't rent from them.
We have lived at our current address for 2 years. We came from out of state and the process was very efficient. We have a leak in our ceiling upstairs. It started in December2021. We filled out a service request, which took three weeks to respond. They came out and patched the tub, and when I went to take a bath the glue all came off. The tub is still leaking after several emails, and new work orders filled out. We now have mold and are waiting to get this matter resolved. It took them three weeks to fix our air conditioner last summer. We've tried to be reasonable, but this is unacceptable. Our rent is always on time and we take good care of the property. The plumber said that the whole tub needs to be replaced.

They are a terrible company they take forever to help you out when stuff is broken on the property, never a direct number or person you speak to and just $#*!ty i hate this company they have nice homes for good prices but i hate them so much i rather live in a apartment.
I paid Main Street $120 for myself and two applicants. Mainstreet forced me to add occupants to my application without disclosing any occupant who has a bankruptcy will cause my application to be denied. My complaint is the applicant was only listed as an occupant, an additional person to live in the property, but Main Street pulled the occupant's credit report which had a bankruptcy which was scheduled to be paid off on September 29,2021 and then denied my entire application.

Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
