“Even if nobody on the Movmoda site uses the phrase...”

Chris O.
10/14/10

Even if nobody on the Movmoda site uses the phrase "sex on wheels" to describe their unique upcoming lingerie range, you can bet someone else will, in the New Year when these unique cycling garments go on sale to the public. The collection is a cross between feminine lingerie and sportswear, and although the design is Italian and modern, to me the style has an early '50s look to it, though in the '50s people tended to wear somewhat more than this, and especially when cycling. It's called "performance lingerie" and it's designed for "casual cycling commuters" to wear while cycling around. Frankly, if you're an average casual cycling commuter you'd need to be extremely casual to get away with this, and there's a risk you'd leave a collision or two in your wake, but you go for it, girl. The patented material in these is claimed to retain the best qualities of traditional sporting garments, moisture control, UV protection and so on, with the fit and comfort of lingerie. But the real reason anyone's going to go for these is that they are the absolute opposite to the sweaty tank tops and baggy shorts people tend to wear while cycling casually, or even the tight Lycra body suits that the enthusiasts wear, which are somehow not sexy despite being tight and Lycra. I have two immediate thoughts about these. I could imagine there being some competition amongst male riders to get behind a girl wearing these in the cycle lane on the way to work, but then, since nobody in the real world looks as good as the models in these photos, there's a high probability that the sort of people who should never wear something like this in public are going to be the ones you get stuck behind in the cycle lane on the way to work. The range launches in January, an odd time of the year to launch such revealing cycling gear, but then maybe, cycling isn't the only thing you would wear them for.
